SummerSalt

SummerSalt is an original gem in Boothbay Harbor, built in the 1700s, renovated in 2020. This home has plenty of history, as it was once a gas station, cobbler's workshop, bakery, and most recently, a photography studio. Rumor has it that the home was even once lost in a gambling bet and the gambler's grandfather purchased the home back for his grandson.

This 5 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath home includes central air, outdoor dining on the deck and patio, and an additional living space with TV and games.

With an open-concept layout and a large 7-foot kitchen island that extends to a sun-drenched living room with plenty of windows to enjoy the view of the harbor, SummerSalt is a great space for entertaining. There is a large new basement that can be used for games and hanging out with family and friends. Enjoy snacks and cocktails or read a good book on the deck off the living space. Dine alfresco on the back patio, complete with a grill for some good eats.

Our home is located just steps from Boothbay Harbor's iconic footbridge, where you can walk into the quaint, quintessential harbor town and visit the shops, enjoy the restaurants and breweries, catch some live music, or take an excursion on the water. Barrett Park and Hendricks Cove are within a 10-20 min car drive, as are our favorite hiking trails, two of which follow the ocean (Lineken & Burley Preserves and Oven's Mouth). Whatever you choose to do, we hope that your stay at SummerSalt will be comfortable and filled with wonderful memories.

The house is so bright and cheerful. We loved the coastal decor, comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen and sunny deck. There was plenty of space for relaxing and hanging out. The location is ideal and we enjoyed walking across the footbridge into town. We visited Boothbay for a wedding and had a wonderful time together in this perfect house. We had a wonderful time at this vrbo. The place was beautiful and relaxing and had a lot of space to accommodate the 4 kids we were traveling with. It was centrally located to the footbridge and that made it easy to do things and walk into town. We loved it!

The house was so clean and the decor was top notch! Any questions we had Teri responded very quickly. We loved how close the house was to the footbridge. We easily explored surrounding areas from here. Highly recommend!

Summer Salt was spacious and bright with a water view. The property description was accurate. I would add that it was very freshly renovated with attractive choices of fixtures, appliances and finishes. The side deck was a great place to enjoy a summer sunset. We had a family gathering in Boothbay where a number of family members rented other properties nearby and others stayed in nearby hotels. The great room at Summer Salt proved to be a great gathering place for a "meet and greet" for about 30 people and other rooms served for "breakout" gatherings and for younger people to play. Parking was limited to four mid-sized cars. So, most people walked to our rental. Many people commented about the attractiveness and spaciousness of the Summer Salt property. It was a real hit!The property manager was extremely responsive to every communication and always knowledgeable about the premises and pleasant.

This property is outstanding. Plenty of bedrooms and lots of gathering spaces. Beautiful, open kitchen. Lovely views of the harbor from the deck. With both heat and air conditioning, it met all the Maine weather needs. Exceptionally clean and well-decorated. No clutter. Bathrooms are gorgeous. Super close to the footbridge, so walking into town is a dream. No need to fight for a parking space in town, when you can stroll across the footbridge. We absolutely loved staying here, and will return. Will also be recommending it to our friends.
