Unique ocean front home located on Mill Cove, a picturesque and active setting with panoramic southerly ocean views with sunrises and sunsets. SUN ALL DAY. 3 minute walk gets you to the heart of Boothbay Harbor for shopping, dining, boat rides, and entertainment. No need to worry about parking.
This cove is tidal and has 6-8 feet of water at high tide and is a natural habitat for waterfowl, Striped Bass and Mackerel.
The back yard features beautiful gardens and a sitting/dining area right at the water's edge under a large pergola covered with wisteria and grapevine. Relax in one of our many Adirondack chairs on the waters edge. Enjoy the fire pit while roasting S'mores and watching the sunset on the cove. If you're feeling adventurous, we provide you with 3 ocean kayaks, or you can swim and fish off your own private dock and float without ever leaving the property.
Relax on the large deck equipped with gas grill and large dining area overlooking the magnificent gardens and the harbor.
The fully-equipped gourmet kitchen features a large island with dine-up seating. The sunroom/dining area is just off the kitchen and features cozy pillow wrap around seating. The spacious but cozy Tuscan-style living room has bistro-style dining for four, a beautiful gas fireplace, 46' LED Smart TV with surround-sound with French doors leading out onto the expansive porch overlooking the gardens and cove.

Master bedroom has a king bed, separate dressing room as well as a lounging area with Smart TV. French doors leading onto a private deck overlooking the water. Bedroom 2 is water-view with a queen bed. BR 3 has 1 full and 2 twin beds . All bedrooms are located on the second floor. There is a full-size pull-out sofa bed in the living room. A/C in each bedroom, kitchen area and living room.

This traditional Maine home has been in the family for eighty years and has everything to enhance your Maine vacation. Wonderful stay

Although the weather was less than perfect with hurricane lee heading our way, there was plenty to do. It's a short walk to town and the property itself has everything you could.want or need. Our adult children enjoyed the kayaks and we all enjoyed the decks, chef's kitchen, and firepit. Karen and Alden are excellent hosts!

We loved everything about it - the home was so eclectic, warm and charming! The location was perfect for a walk to town or short drive to nearby attractions. Exceeded expectations. The home was as-described, immaculately clean, and well-equipped. The location can't be beat - easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants, but still right on the water and private. The grounds and landscaping are beautiful, and kayaking from the dock couldn't be better. We hope to return!

Perfect location and house

This is a great property with great location for walking into town. The kayaks and fishing poles were great for the kids. They loved exploring cove and old sunken ships! This house made our family a lot of memories. Karen also is a great host meeting us at house and giving us a walkthrough and even a cake for my wife’s and mother in law birthday!

Fabulous

Karen and Alden are the quintessential Maine hosts. They are both very pleasant, very informative, and very proud of their lovely home in the cove. The accommodations were perfect for our group of 6 and there was plenty of room for more people. Everything was neat and clean inside. The gardens were beautiful outside and the walk into Booth Bay Harbor was easy and convenient. It was a very memorable stay for our family and will look forward to staying at Mill Cove again in the future!

Had a great time at Mill Cove. Our first vacation since 2019 with our Luna (Husky) that we got right before covid. My husband and I enjoyed having all 3 kids with their husbands and girlfriend along with our little grandson who just turned 1. What a great spot and close to town where we walked alot! Just hanging by the fire pit at night was perfect! The hosts couldn't have been nicer. Thank you for letting our family enjoy your home!

This property was amazing. It was clean, beautifully decorated, and the hosts added so many thoughtful touches. The kitchen was fully equipped. There were plenty of linens. The beds were comfortable. The close proximity to town meant we didn’t have to worry about crowded downtown parking in Boothbay Harbor, but the space was secluded enough for privacy and quiet. Karen and Alden were quick to respond when we needed them and gave us a good run-down on how everything worked in their home at check-in. I can’t recommend this property enough!

WEATHER AND LOCATION!! Walk or short drive to town; GOREGEOUS views, gardens and home! An amazing home in beautiful Boothbay Harbor!

We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay in this amazing home. We were celebrating my mother's 91st birthday and my sister's 70th birthday. Karen and Alden even gave my sister a birthday card and beautiful flowers. The kitchen was incredible and all herbs and spices were provided. Karen baked us a delicious blueberry cake. We had crab meat rolls and lobster on the dock in the water - simply unforgettable. We can highly recommend this property and we we definitely return some day. Thank you Karen and Alden.

Maine living at its best!

The home, the views and the gardens are simply gorgeous. The house is bright, colorful and full of warmth, and it's incredibly well equipped too! It's a home not a house or a "rental." Alden and Karen, the owners, are generous, kind and helpful people, and we are so fortunate to have met them. Ask about cleaning services for multiple rental weeks - they were great and I always had fresh cut flowers left for me in vases. It was the perfect summer vacation and the perfect summer home. We hope to come back every year!

My family and I stayed at this home in August and had a wonderful relaxing vacation. The house is situated in an amazing location with easy access to town and a wonderful view of Boothbay Harbor. The grounds of the home are absolutely gorgeous as Alden and Karen are master Dahlia growers. The home was also super well stocked. We cooked at home a couple of nights and everything you could need was right there. This was one of the most well stocked rentals we have ever rented. With any luck, we will return again next summer.

The best week ever!

I booked on a whim deciding that I finally deserved a real vacation and had no idea what to expect. This property as well as Karen & Alden blew my expectations out of the water. From s'mores by the fire, swimming and looking for crabs off the dock, relaxing on the decks, kayaking, treasure hunts and games in the yard, and enjoying the quirky, comfy and functional house (the kitchen is outstanding), we can't wait to return for years to come! This has been my family's home for 94 years. I have lived here all my life and enjoy living right on the ocean and close to downtown. I am an avid gardener and start all my plants from seedlings in my greenhouse and design different gardens each year. This property is perfect for families with pets and has lots of space to move around and explore.
