The property is absolutely wonderful. We were a party of 4 and the accommodations were perfect. The house and grounds are spotless and stocked with every size pots, dishes, cups, glasses, etc., you may need. The location is ideal and a short walk to the beach. The decor is perfect and even though there is no air conditioning, the living room opens entirely to the lanai so there is a cross breeze most of the time. Being from Alaska we really appreciated the breezes.

2nd stay, just as fantastic as last time.

  • 5 of 5

This was 2nd stay at Hale Pa'ani in the past 4 years and it was just as wonderful as our first visit. Joe (the owner) is very responsive to your needs and a pleasure to talk to over the phone. The house is very near on of the best beaches on the North Shore to swim, snorkel, and paddle board as the water is calm and clear in the summer. It is also a 5 minute walk to Ted's and a 15 minute bike ride to Foodland / Shark's cove. The house is very open, airy and spacious with great showers either in the master bath or outside (which is one of the many great things about living in Hawaii). We also love the large Lani and table that seats at least 10 people.

I wouldn't hesitate to stay here and we certainly plan to when we return to the North Shore.

Nice house, great location

  • 4 of 5

This house has very spacious living areas inside and out. The pictures don't do it justice. There were places for everyone to spread out. The grass yard was perfect for our kids to burn off any extra energy that they had, and the loved pretending the balcony and deck was a pirate ship.

The house is within walking distance to Ted's Bakery, and we took full advantage of that. Also close are the market (Foodland) and multiple food trucks. Turtle Bay is a short drive the other way. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach to watch the sunsets.

Our family of 7 had a wonderful stay! Joe was very helpful and welcoming. The house is lovely!

  • 5 of 5

We definitely recommend this property. The location is perfect, just two houses from the beach! We enjoyed sunsets at the beach and then came home each night to have dinner on the lanai.

One member of our group had the unfortunate need to have an emergency appendectomy just two days before we had to fly home. Joe was so kind and accommodating and let us stay in the house past check out time to allow our guy to rest longer before heading to the airport. Incidentally, Castle Medical Center in Kailua was awesome - everyone was super friendly and handled his situation wonderfully.

We Loved Our Stay at Hale Pa'ani !!

  • 5 of 5

I literally spent hours and hours of my time looking all over Oahu for the right place for our first visit to Hawaii. My 74 yrs old parents, my husband, 6 yrs old son and I were all visiting for the first time and I wanted to make sure I found the right place. I'm so glad I decided on looking around Sunset Beach and that I found this beautiful house! The location is so ideal and the walk to the beach is seconds away. You seriously cannot go wrong by staying at Hale Pa'ani, the pictures really show the property well. Joe was so helpful and kind, he came over the second day of our stay to help us figure out the coded front gate. His house gives the perfect Hawaiian vibe with the comforts of home. We loved going to the beach everyday and it was nice how the house is centrally located along the Kamehameha Hwy between so many activities. We visited Turtle Beach, Ted's Bakery (multiple times, you must try the Chocolate Coconut Haupia pie) Snorkeled, enjoyed the food trucks at Sharks Cove/Pupukea, Pearl Harbor, Dole Plantation, went to Laie Polynesian Cultural Center, visited Haleiwa with the many shops/restaurants and loved Waimea Valley waterfall....among the many activities we did. Everyone enjoyed the Hale Pa'ani and the beautiful gardens around the house, my 6 yr old loved the small lizards, beach toys and the outdoor shower. The lanai was so relaxing and I loved the ocean breeze thru the windows at night. The only recommendation is if you are planning to ride the bikes to verify they are ready for use. One of the bikes had a flat tire and the other two needed a tune up with the rusty chains, so that was the only thing that was a bit of a bummer, a minor thing. All in all the house was AMAZING and we all Enjoyed our stay at Hale Pa'ani very much! Thank you Joe for sharing your piece of Hawaiian Heaven with us, we would have loved to stay longer!
