Beautiful home. Perfect location.
This house is amazing. It’s beautiful and well kept on one of the nicest stretches of beach on the north shore with a great surf break that is pretty much never crowded right out front. We watched whales swim by while eating dinner on the covered lanai and the kids almost had as much fun playing on the lawn as they did on the beach. Ted’s is nearby for breakfast, Foodland close by the other way to buy food to grill on the bbq or hit the food trucks if you don’t want to cook. We also got Kalbi ribs to grill from Kahuku Superette who also have the best Poke on earth. We never had to contact the host because we had no issues and everything in the house worked perfectly. Kids said it was their favorite vacation ever and all my wife’s friends have asked for the details so they can rent it after seeing the photos. It costs a little more than some of the other rentals but you get what you pay for.
The house and location is amazing! My family and I typically travel to Hawaii every couple years and stay in the Waikiki area. This time we wanted to be away from the crowds and relax. The minute you walk into the house and look out the window from the living room your jaw will just drop. The views are gorgeous, especially the sunsets. The house is well equipped with everything you need. The location is central to everything. The market is a 5 minute drive away and 10-15 minutes from Old Town Haleiwa. We either made our way to town for breakfast or went to Ted's Bakery which is 5 minutes away. I was very happy that the house was very secure and safe. There is an alarm and the house is enclosed within a secured gate. We loved the beach. It felt like our own private beach as there was hardly anyone around. Shark's Cove, Banzai Pipeline and Waimea are very close by. At night you fall asleep to the waves, it's so peaceful! We will definitely come back and stay here again.

The property has great location. Decorated very well. Bedrooms very comfortable. BUT there are a few things that need to be updated when you are paying this kind of money for a place: 1.) Beach Equipment- there was two rusty chairs, grimy/moldy snorkel gear unusable. There should be gear to use. We did try to contact the property contact person and left message but they never called back 2.) Toilet Paper- When you have 6 adults staying a week there should be more than 4 rolls. Same with paper towels only one roll was provided. 3) There is another small unit on property and if someone had been staying there it would have been very hard with parking when you are allowed two cars for our unit. 4) Ant- Big time problem. DO NOT LEAVE ITEMS OUT. My husband worked for Terminix in Hawaii when we lived there and in his expert opinion this should not be a problem. There is something that can be done about it. We never had ants in our property when we lived in Hawaii because we used proper treatment. Contact Terminix. 5) The large deposit is a bit much to ask for on this property that should be reduced. These are all things you should all know about when renting this property.
Im sorry your stay at a beach front property in immaculate condition was sub par. Per all of your points for the negative review
1.)$1000 is probably low for the 4 million dollar home you just stayed in. Its standard for all homes on vrbo especially when a ripped sofa or broken anything could cost more than that. It is clearly stated and you should not have rented the house if it was an issue.
2.)The unit above the garage is NEVER rented when anyone is there. That is a huge issue and should be deleted from the review since it is completely False
3.)We also do not state that there is any beach gear with the house. It would be impossible to keep it because people would lose it monthly.
I personally did not receive any message about any beach gear or lack of paper towels. If I had then we could have fixed the issue on the spot.
4.)Lastly we have pest control that regularly maintains the property. If you leave food out yes there will be ants. Your'e not in the city and its crazy you think that there shouldn’t be ants if you leave a mess in the kitchen.
I really don't see how any of these things make your stay 3 stars. I can't help but feel there is something else that happened on your trip unrelated to the property that caused you to be upset or just overall unhappy.
This is a great property, with private beach access and close-up viewing of winter pipeline. The house is perfect for a small family or friends' getaway. Everything you need is available either in the house or at Foodland and Ted's Bakery. I will definitely keep this on my "favorites" list!

We had a fabulous stay for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor space for dining and sundowners 😀
