Our family loved this property and really enjoyed our stay. We walked through some of the most stunning trails in the world- saw salmon, hummingbirds, king fishers, and even an otter swimming and lounging on the rocks below! The amenities are as described and while some things need updating- Thomas was helpful and accommodating to our needs! We did not want to leave. That pretty much says it all!
We were able to kayak past the house by doing the stout half day beginner ride with redwood rides. The home is well loved with easy access to amazing redwoods
Home has natural light and roomy. Beds are comfortable. Douglas Park is a nice neighborhood close to good river spots and hikes in Jed Smith State Park. Deck overlooking river is a highlight.
Great location and a cute place overall, and we enjoyed our time there. That said, cleanliness needs attention. There was heavy dust buildup on the stove vent, hair in the downstairs shower, and several dishes that were still dirty and needed to be rewashed. The grill was also very dirty and not really usable as is, we had planned a bbq and spent some time cleaning before using but it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. With a thorough deep cleaning and more detailed turnover between guests, this would be a much better stay.
We had a long day of travel and was afraid that we would miss a night. We messaged the host and they were very accommodating. We ended up getting there really late and the house was wonderful to walk into. The next morning was a beautiful sight and sound to be right on the river. Also, the road this home is on the Howland Road which takes you to some of the most beautiful Redwoods! This was a great home base to explore and hike the different majestic Redwoods.

Beautiful view
Our stay was good, but couldn't use the hot tub, was leaking and wouldn't heat over 95. Also, some remotes available had no batteries, and we had to buy some. No instructions for TV or other media equipment. The TV upstairs and in one of the bedrooms didn't work. We were able to watch a variety of TV in the living room. Was super clean, that was nice. The beds in the first floor bedroom felt awful and hard when we sat on them, but we slept fine.
Loved staying here. Very close to Redwoods trails and nice to be by the river. Not far from the ocean as well. Our host was very attentive. Highly recommend!
