New Custom Home on 35 Acres - Amazing Mtn Views -15 Min to DGO - AC/Hot Tub

Our 3,500 square foot residence was built in 2022 and features 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms and is located 8 miles (15 minutes) from downtown Durango and 35 miles from Purgatory and less then 15 minutes from Lake Nighthorse.

Situated on 35 acres offering privacy and seclusion - yet just minutes from downtown Durango and at an elevation of 7,500 feet, always cooler in the summer than downtown (the residence does have central AC for the occasional warm summer days). Enjoy an alpine setting with room to roam and some of the best views in the area, while being close to all of the incredible amenities and recreation you come to Durango to experience. The house was designed to take advantage of the amazing views of the La Plata mountains from most bedrooms and the main living space.

The house features amazing outdoor living space including a private hot tub, gas fire pit, couches and there is also corn hole and a pickle ball net (paddles and balls) that can be set up in the driveway. The main living space features a wood burning fireplace and TV and opens to the dining space and the fully stocked kitchen. We also offer super fast Starlink WIFI to enable every one to watch their preferred streaming service (no cable TV).

The house sleeps 15 and is perfect for multiple families as it features two living spaces each with a TV.

5th bedroom (2nd Living Space) - Bunk Beds (2 - Single over Single w/single trundles under each ) (2nd Floor)
Bonus sleeping area - Office off the Main Living Space (Single bed)

4WD/AWD is required from mid December to mid March. ATVs cannot be ridden on the property or in the neighborhood.

This home is not pet friendly! Please do not bring your pets or emotional service animals.

Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).

Great place

Terrific work lace to stay and reunite with friends and family. Beautiful views and large family rooms. Plenty of space all clean and ready to move in. Came with many amenities including a hot tub. Hadsome trouble getting house code but management go. figured it out. Overall a pleasant stay. We could definitely come back

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property is located at the top of a ridge with beautiful views behind the house of the mountains. Sunrise and sunset were gorgeous. The location is secluded and shares a gated entryway with a few other houses. Enjoyed our stay however upstairs beds could use new memory foam toppers as they are very firm and were not to our liking. Also note if you have allergies to down you should alert the rental office as bedding comforters and some pillows are down filled. Management company was great to work with and overall it was a great stay.

The home was clean and nicely appointed. The views from the home were stunning. Our family enjoyed the hot tub and having coffee on the back porch. We did feel misled about the "35 acres" the home sits on. The property's acreage is mostly inaccessible land straight down the side of a mountain. Note: to reach the property you have to travel on a very rough and very dusty gravel road for a 1 1/2 miles. We probably would have selected another rental if we had know this based on the type of vehicle we were driving. Overall, our stay was very good. The property management was easy to contact and helpful to work with.

The location was so convenient too because it was only a short drive into downtown Durango which has tons of cute shops and places to eat. We hiked up above the town too which was super cool. Everything about this place was awesome and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend it!

Everything we were wanting for a relaxing family getaway in the mountains. The setup of rooms was perfect for our party. You feel like you’re off secluded way up in the mountains but with all the modern conveniences. Instacart and DoorDash both came to the location which was great for us as we cooked most of our meals at the house and we were traveling with a baby. Kitchen was well stocked. Beautiful home with great furniture, but the views were everything. I will say skiing wasn’t the focus of our trip, but some from our party did go into town every day and spent time at purgatory and the drives were easy.

Love the Sky Cabin

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We spent 6 nights at the Sky Cabin with a group of 4 couples and it was an idyllic location to relax and visit. The view of the mountains from the back porch is spectacular. We enjoyed spending time in Durango during our stay. We walked the Animas River Trail, played pickleball along the river, visited several breweries in town, and rode the train to Silverton and back. Make sure you book the train well in advance. We splurged and did the premium last car. We also visited Mesa Verde NP where we toured the Cliff Palace (booked 14 days before tour) and hiked the Petroglyph Trail. We spent one day driving to Ouray and Telluride where the views were spectacular and the towns were charming. The Sky cabin was a perfect location for our sightseeing. The rooms were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped to enjoy some of our meals at the cabin. I highly recommend staying here.
