Charming Cottage In Golden Rectangle! Easy close walk to town and beach.

LOVE your stay in our charming classic Carmel cottage located in the golden rectangle, with easy 7 block walks north into town or west down to the beach, and an easy 1.25 mile walk to the Carmel Gate onto Pebble Beach 17 mile drive (go west on 13th down to and left on San Antonio, cross Ocean and continue to the Carmel Gate and PB entrance). It has two comfortable bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. The front bedroom has a cal-king bed, with a bathroom and a stall shower. The back bedroom is a cal-king bed and the en suite bathroom has a shower tub. The living room couch is a queen hide-a-bed. High thread count linens on the comfortable beds make for a wonderful nights sleep.
The living room has a sitting/reading area with a skylight and large window overlooking the side patio. There is a wood burning fireplace, cable smart TV, free wifi, a game table, and comfortable seating. The kitchen has an eating area with table and chairs for 4. The eating area looks out on the back patio which has outdoor dining furniture and a propane fire pit. The cottage is 1200 square feet. There is a one car driveway and parking on the street which is just out of reach of the tourist traffic in downtown Carmel. Amenities include washer/dryer, gas stove, microwave, and fully stocked array of pots, pans, dishes, utensils. as well as well stocked array of spices for cooking. Enjoy the back patio and yard with a propane fire pit. The cottage is close to the Carmel Mission (3 blocks south), and Clint Eastwood's Mission Ranch (2 blocks south) for cocktails and/or dinner overlooking the sheep pasture and the ocean beyond.
It is 10-30 minutes to all the tourist destinations such as Big Sur, Rocky Point, Nepenthe, Carmel Valley wineries, golf courses (e.g. Pebble Beach, Spanish Bay, Poppy Hills, Black Horse, Bayonet, and Pacific Grove Muni), Monterey Bay Aquarium, Cannery Row, and the Monterey Wharf.

Accommodating hosts, comfortable cottage

The owners are the most accommodating we have encountered in many years of Vrbo stays. The cottage is comfortable and very well maintained. The owners have thought about everything you might need and provided it. Backyard patio was a favorite. We had overcast cool weather for July but Carmel River State Beach is an amazing and uplifting experience no matter the weather. Thank you!

Great stay in Carmel by the Sea!

This lovely home is quite comfortable and the kitchen is perfect for cooking meals together. We used the games table for puzzles the whole week. Sharon was very responsive to my allergies, and provided scent free products for us to us. Laundry was also done with scent free detergent. The perfect place as a jumping off spot to walk the beach, explore Point Lobos, and drive down the Big Sur Coast! This was out 3rd visit and we will be back!

Carmel Treasure

This was our second stay at this wonderful home. The owners are so thoughtful and have such a well stocked house from quality linens, dishes, glassware, cooking equipment, kitchen and beach supplies etc. We love being able to walk to dinner in town or either beach easily. The backyard is so peaceful as well. We love staying here and hope to return soon. Thank you for sharing your home with us once again.

A Great Winter Break

We have enjoyed a terrific month at this cottage. It is impeccably cared for and thoughtfully equipped, including a kitchen well stocked with all of the basics and a number of extras. We particularly appreciate the quality of the mattresses, bedding and towels. It is a lovely, comfortable cottage.

Really Great home for a Carmel Beach Stay

This was just as advertised. The location was perfect for my wife and I. We were a 12 minute walk to Downtown and about the same the other direction to Carmel Mission Ranch and west to the beach. We walked every day either to get to one of the great restaurants or to power walk for exercise. The owner was very accommodating and responsive! Plenty of supplies, etc.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND

We loved our stay at this cottage and wished we hadn't been working so many hours a day so we could have had a chance to enjoy the outdoor area a little! The bedrooms were comfortable, having two full bathrooms was a must for us and both were well appointed. The kitchen had everything we needed and the living room was great for hanging out after a long day. The cottage is within walking distance of downtown Carmel and is a quick drive from Crossroads which has a ton of shops and restaurants

Charming Carmel Stay

We had a perfect stay in Carmel. The house was a short walk to town and extremely well stocked with all kinds of supplies. We loved the charm of of the homeā€¦classic Carmel at its finest. The large backyard was delightful for eating outside or just reading a book. Great linens and towels for everyone. We didnā€™t hang out on the beach since we were there for the US Womenā€™s Open but there were all kinds of beach supplies in the garage. I even had time to read one of the many books on their shelves. We were pleasantly surprised with the thoughtful welcome gifts. The owners were wonderful to communicate with by email & text. We canā€™t wait to return. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home.

Great stay despite Weathet

This was our second month long stay. Once again the house was extremely well equipped and supplied which proved particularly useful when the power in Carmel went out for 80 hours. Despite that, the gas stove and a hot water system that performed well throughout and an ample supply of lanterns made this a very comfortable adventure. We will be back.

Carmel Wedding Trip

This cottage has everything you need for a week plus stay in Carmel. The cottage is perfect for a couple or 2 couples/singles traveling together. The owners have thought of many nice touches which make the home inviting. It is clean, well kept and the beds are comfortable. The location is close to town too.

Great Location - Great Comfort - Great Amenities

This cottage is roomy and comfortable. The two master bedrooms are well-separated for privacy, and each has a good bathroom. It is just a 15 minutes walk to town or to the beach. The cottage has generous amenities including a well-equipped kitchen, lots of chars and toys for the beach, and very comfortable beds. The hosts communicated directly and we found everything in well-maintained working order. We have already booked another visit.

Ideal location

Cottage is beautiful and well appointed. The yard is nicely landscaped and well taken care of. It is less than a ten minute walk to all shops and restaurants. Our stay couldn't have been more enjoyable and we will are planning to return . The owners were very easy to work with and accommodated all our needs.

We loved this house!

This house is described as a ā€˜cottageā€™ however had ample room for 4 adults and a great kitchen space. It was immaculately clean and the kitchen included everything that we needed, including glasses for all occasions! Location cannot be beatā€”easy walk to beach (if a gentle slope uphill on way back works for you) and to Ocean Ave. The home was a base for us to explore things close and a little further afieldā€”point Lobos, Moss Landing, Big Sur and Pinnacles National Monument. Owners were very responsive to our communications and we were welcomed with very generous gifts that included local wine and chocolates. Would stay here again!

Charming for certain

This is a beautiful house, in an outstanding location, with wonderful hospitality. It was the perfect spot for my wife and her friend to spend a week relaxing and exploring the beautiful seascape of Monterey and vicinity. Carmel-by-the-sea was a lovely town. Much to do and see and wonderful dining. Dana and Sharon were very accommodating and the cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. Thank you so much !

Perfect Cottage

The property was an attractive cottage, bigger inside than the pictures and with a lovely large garden. It was outfitted with everything one would want including an amazing inventory of bottled water, kitchen spices etc. plus considerate welcome gifts from our hosts. Best rental ever.

Just like home

Everything you can think of is in the house and there is nothing the owners have not thought of. The house is immaculate and the furnishings are all very nice. The location is also nice as the walk to ocean Blvd, the main street in Carmel is an easy 7 block walk. The propane fire pit in the back yard is an added bonus. I highly recommend this property and owners. We have booked 9 VRBO houses around the world and This one was a great find and the best VRBO rental we have booked .

Our Carmel vacation

We have rented many, many homes in Carmel through the years and rate this one at or near the top of the list. Walking distance to downtown, ocean and Mission for Mass. Exceptionally clean with ever amenity for a nice, comfortable stay. We will stay there again and recommend it to friends.

Nice home, in quiet, sun-drenched setting! The home was clean and comfortable and the spaces well thought-out. Great owners too, as they helped us with restaurant choices, had some gifts waiting for us upon arrival, while also graciously receiving feedback regarding a few minor things that needed tended to.

Amazing cottage and even better location!

We had the best time spending the month of April at the house. We could not have been in a better location- just a couple blocks from both the ocean and town. The house was spacious and we enjoyed the fireplace, eating outdoors and grilling. Everything one could need was also available- beach towels, chairs, picnic basket etc. We really had the best time and can't wait to return!

We are a family who has owned this cottage since the early 1960s. We love sharing this cozy comfortable small home in one of the most beautiful places in the world. It is a gift to us and we feel it is meant to be shared.
We live about 2.5 hours away and in between renters enjoy it ourselves with family and friends. When we rent, we like to guest people as if we know them, and you walk away wanting to come back!
