Retreat setting with peace and quiet, ocean and sunset views and hot tub.
I have been living on this property in the Carmel Highlands for over 30 years. I love the long views out to the ocean; the sunsets are amazing and even more so, I love watching the moon set and reflect on the ocean. It is a quiet and peaceful retreat to come back to.
This property is in a quiet and serene setting just minutes south of Carmel and on the coast. You can walk from the house to the ocean and do a 45 minute loop. Monastery beach is on the way to town with a level walking path to the Carmel River mouth. Walking on the white sand beach of Carmel is only a 15 minute drive away.
Whale watching during whale season from the house and the coast highway.
Owner/caretaker on the property living in a cottage with seperate entrance. House, Spa and deck are very private.
The spa area is totally private and seperate from the house. There is a large hot tub, chase lounges, sun umbrella and changing area. Ideal for rest and relaxation, a glass of wine, sun bathing, napping or watching the stars and the moon.
Karin has a beautiful home that is very well taken care of. From the top floor kitchen and living room, to the warm bedrooms below, the house is very comfy. The outside patio with a hot tub makes for a wonderful private scene to relax and watch the sunset. We spent 3 nights here at the start of the new year and loved every minute.
The house is very clean and bright. Excellent working fireplace. Well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds. There is only one full bath and a half bath so two couples must be friendly. Wonderful place to sit and read. The only drawback is returning to the house after dark when you must make a tricky left turn off Hwy 1 , but we got used to it. You have to drive into Carmel, can't walk. The views and quiet are worth it.
We had a wonderful relaxing stay for a "mom's" weekend away, there were three of us. The views are beautiful and the deck is perfect for relaxing and catching up with friends. The house was well stocked and the kitchen had many staples to use for cooking. The bedrooms are all downstairs along with the main bathroom. The bathroom is a little small, but in addition to the main bathroom you can also use the upstairs bathroom to finish getting ready in. The beds were very comfortable and it is super quiet at the house. There is lots of living space upstairs. The house was clean and well kept other than a few light bulbs were out. It is an easy quick drive to Point Lobos State park and into Carmel. We had a wonderful weekend.
The house was immaculate. It was the best stocked we have stayed in. The beds were very comfortable. We were two couples vacationing.
The fact we had to share the bathroom on the bedroom level was no problem with a half bath on the main level. We would have loved to had more time to stay there.
Karin's home in the Carmel Highlands is stunning. The pictures and description from the VRBO website were accurate. The views from the deck were priceless. The home is clean, well-stocked, and was a pleasure to reside in for our week vacation. Karin understands hospitality. I rarely want to repeat a vacation experience since I prefer to see new destinations, but this home will get a repeat visit from me in the future. Thank you, Karin!
We had a terrific 8 night stay and thoroughly enjoyed this lovely home. Everything we could possibly need was provided. Very peaceful location and Karin is delight to work with. We love the deck, taking naps, cooking and exploring the beautiful park nearby. Excellent local dining and a good fresh fish market at Crossroads Shopping Center. We left feeling totally refreshed. We consider it our home away from home and look forward to future stays. Highly recommend.
