Great place great kocation
Clean well presented and spacious apartment in the heart of Fitzrovia. Very professional and helpful host
Delighted you enjoyed. Thanks for staying with us
Great location, near all the West End things I love. Nicely fitted kitchen, comfortable sofa, adequate hot water and pressure (not a given in the UK). The instructions to get in were a bit complicated but worked fine. Directions to appliances and TV not so great. I would stay again unless I could find something similar for less money. Also the building next door shines light at bedroom window all night or for large periods of it.
Well located, clean, comfortable apartment for a London vacation
My wife and I just returned from a 9 day London vacation. We found this apartment an excellent choice for us. It was well situated near a couple of Underground stations, which made it easy to do the sight-seeing we wanted to do. We are reasonably frugal and generally keep down the travel costs by eating in the apartment whenever practical. The kitchen in this apartment made it easy for us to do this and the nearby Sainsbury's meant we didn't have to haul groceries a long way. I also like to travel light, so I appreciated the washer/dryer in the apartment. It isn't large, but it was fine for doing the small loads required by a light traveler. The apartment has a nice drying rack, which we used in conjunction with the dryer--the combination worked fine for us. The living room and bedroom were both comfortable. The heaters (in bedroom and living room) have timers that enable you to set them to go off at night and back on in the morning before you get up (or any other combination you like), which we appreciated. Although we were in the middle of London, we were never bothered by street noise. Another benefit of this apartment was the open air food market a couple of blocks away. The stalls had a wide variety of ethnic food. I tried a few and found these excellent for a quick, tasty, and inexpensive lunch. For coffee drinkers, nearby Top Coffee is excellent--just don't expect American sizes.
All in all, we highly recommend this apartment for anyone looking for a comfortable and well-located apartment for a London vacation.
high priced crash pad
We recently stayed at this apartment. Unfortunately, we did not find it to be what we expected given the high price and high deposit. It is below the standard we typically enjoy, but it would probably be fine for a couple of young travelers looking simply for a crash pad- if the price was less. The building and the apartment need a great deal of renovation. There are stains in all of the carpets, it is on the 7th floor and the elevator was out of order for 2 days of our stay, the couch is old and very uncomfortable to sit on- wouldn't want to have to sleep on it!, there are cracks in the bathroom floor. That said, it is in a fairly good location with lots of restaurants around and not too far from sights- and it does have a washer and dryer. Overall, it was subpar and really overpriced.
I'm sorry to hear your comments. We have stopped letting this apartment now. The one listed under this number has now changed
Well located, adequate apartment
This apartment is advertised as "location, location, location" and it is indeed situated in a great area close to many tourist sites, points of interest, tube stops, restaurants and cafes.
Liz is a responsive landlord, answering emails and questions quickly. She enabled us to get access to the apartment about 1/2 hour before the official 2pm hour and provided us with a couple of extra pillows, which we requested for a back condition. The kitchen is pretty well equipped with what one needs for a short stay. Not much in the way of dishes and glassware but enough for a few days if one is washing them often.
The apartment is small and poorly furnished. There is an old sofa in the living room which makes into an uncomfortable bed. There are two folding wooden chairs for the small eating table and one plastic chair in the bedroom, so there is really no comfortable place to sit. The bed is firm but only the size of a standard American double bed, quite small for two people. The bottom drawer in the bedroom dresser was broken and taped and fell apart when we tried to open it.
We had trouble figuring out how to turn on/off the heaters and regulate them and there were no instructions that we could find in the apartment.
Two bath towels and only one hand towel are provided. When I asked, I was told that that was the standard although why one hand towel would be provided when there are two people renting the apartment, I don't know. There was not even a small bar of soap for the shower, only a bottle of soft hand soap at the sink which was filled about 1/8 of the way. There was no detergent furnished for the washing machine, although there were some pellets for the dishwasher. All in all, a rather ungenerous feeling to the place.
This apartment just fit what we needed. As described, a quiet street within easy walking distance to four or five Tube stations and countless shops and restaurants, this served as a good base for us to visit central London, royal parks, and day trips connecting to other UK destinations.
We offer a top location in trendy Fitzrovia, in the heart of the West End, a super central spot with a villagey feel and Georgian architecture. The area was once home to such writers as Virginia Woolf, George Bernard Shaw and Arthur Rimbaud. Today it is a popular and lively neighbourhood with a residential and business mix. The numerous media companies based in the area feed into a vibrant buzz.
Wander along the road to Charlotte Street or Goodge Street for a fantastic range of shops and a huge choice of delicious restaurants and bars. Or, go further afield to Soho or Covent Garden (15 minutes by foot) and again you're spoilt for choice.
Tourist London is easily accessible on foot or by tube. You can walk to the British Museum and the British Library. Camden is a 5 minute bus journey. You can walk to Oxford Street in 5 minutes, Covent Garden in 15 minutes, Regent's Park in 10 minutes, Marylebone High Street in 10 minutes. You could walk to Leicester Square in 15 minutes or go by tube in 5 minutes. You can get to Southbank and the London Eye in less than 10 minutes by tube. Any direction you go in has plenty to see and do. The streets are interesting and safe, great for exploring.
Several supermarkets are close by (including a good Sainsburys, Tescos, Marks and Spencers Food Hall and Waitrose isn’t far).
