Upon check-in, we found the heating unit to not be working properly. The host was notified and did absolutely nothing to rectify the situation despite below freezing temperatures. She had the opportunity to do something (we even asked to borrow heaters) before the snow hit. Yet she kept on saying delivery services were unavailable. We had to purchase more expensive firewood (that we HAD delivered - despite her claim that delivery was unavailable) in order to sleep on the hard floor by the fireplace. The unit started to intermittently work after the 4th day. We only had a 6 night stay. During this situation, early on, VRBO was contacted about the issue not being rectified.The host still was not willing to accommodate us in any way and even got upset because the HVAC guy showed up out of the blue (without telling us when he would be arriving), and she expected us to be at her beck and call to let him in. I was literally in the shower when he showed up, which, again, she was upset about for unknown and confusing reasons. The HVAC guy said he had to replace the heating strips, yet told the host (which I found to be her family member), that nothing was wrong with the unit. Very suspicious.She refused to even give a partial refund given that we slept on the floor in front of the fireplace in order to not freeze while everything was closed down.In addition to the host not caring about us in freezing conditions, many more issues were found within the home. Do not stay here!!
