Why they chose this property
Colonial Beach is a small town, a vacation and beach resort on the bank of the Potomac. Cell Block and Residences at Jail Break are within the Commercial Historic District of Colonial Beach.
The town continues to attract more and more visitors throughout the year, and development continues to grow the Town.
What makes this property unique
We wanted to save a building originally constructed in 1940 and provide visitors a peak into the Town’s history.
Jailbreak was a one-story building to house the Colonial Beach Volunteer Fire Department. In 1952, a second story was added to the firehouse, resulting in the building that exists today. In 1990, the building served as the Colonial Beach Police Station, when an additional one-story, concrete-block, Cell Block, was added to hold the Station’s jailcells.
