I think I’d visit Marlinton WV just to be able to stay in this cabin!! Perfectly & beautifully designed, it’s like an ideal, quality “tiny house” with everything one could possibly need or want. And being within walking distance of Stillwell Park, the Greenbrier Trail and River and near many other natural highlights, I truly loved my stay here.
What a lovely little cabin right off of the greenbrier river trail! We walked the trail into downtown Marlinton each morning for coffee and breakfast and rode our bikes on the trail during the day. The cabin was super quaint, the bed was comfy and the bathroom was HUGE with a great hot shower and fluffy towels for warming back up after being out on a chilly bike ride all day. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio in the Adirondack chairs and listening to the birds. We will definitely be back!
We had a wonderful time. It is a very cozy place and the outdoor area is so welcoming. I highly recommend this sweet cabin. We were enjoying a mini family reunion and our cabin was the hangout spot because of the wonderful outdoor area!
We loved our stay in Marlinton! This cabin is in a perfect location for rail trail and mountain biking access and the view of the mountains is very peaceful. Town is only a minute away for food, gas, other necessities (ice cream!) but at night it's perfectly quiet for rest and relaxation. We appreciated how super clean and organized this house was, with lots of little touches to make our stay enjoyable. The beds are some of the most comfortable we've ever experienced in a short term rental. Water pressure in the shower is great and there were a good supply of towels. Being able to store and charge the bikes inside was great. The wifi was plenty fast and we used the TV to stream YouTube and other shows without a problem. Finally, communication with the host was fast and pleasant. We hope to come back again someday and ride more of the Greenbrier River Trail!
Great place to stay. The property manager is very kind and easy to communicate with. The property is close to wonderful fishing opportunities. Highly recommend.
A fairly cheaply built concrete cabin which is probably good for bicyclists. Unfortunately the Greenbrier Rail Trail was closed both ways due to bridge reconstruction. The amenities were great (soaps, dishes, etc) and the AC was great (especially while we were under a heat dome). Bed was uncomfortable and the sofa had a broken arm. Toaster didn’t work. Neighborhood was sketchy. Probably a good place for 2 male cyclists as long as you’re OK with bypassing the bridge closures on the road.

Thank you for your feedback. While we’re glad you enjoyed the amenities provided and found the AC comfortable during the extreme heat, I’d like to clarify several points for future guests.
The Greenbrier River Trail bridge closures and ongoing bridge redecking project are managed entirely by the State of West Virginia. As a private property owner, I have no control over state maintenance projects, trail closures, or construction schedules, and I respectfully ask that those circumstances not be used to evaluate the cabin itself. You mentioned the trail construction not once, but twice.
If the sofa arm or toaster were not functioning properly, I wish those concerns had been communicated to me immediately. As a host, I take great pride in maintaining the property and responding promptly to guest concerns, but I cannot address issues that are only mentioned after checkout in a public review.
I also wanted to address the comment describing the cabin as, “cheaply built.” The cabin is constructed almost entirely of concrete by design. Polished and sealed concrete floors are a premium architectural feature and a significant investment—not an inexpensive building material. The cabin’s finishes are accurately represented throughout the listing, which includes more than 50 photographs clearly showing the polished concrete floors and overall design. I encourage all guests to thoroughly review the listing photos before booking to ensure the style of the property aligns with their expectations.
Finally, I respectfully disagree with the characterization of the neighborhood as “sketchy.” The cabin is located in rural West Virginia, surrounded by a farmhouse, fields, neighboring vacation rentals, and the natural beauty that many of our guests specifically seek out. This is an authentic Appalachian setting—not a gated HOA community—and our listing makes that clear.
We strive to provide an honest representation of the property, exceptional communication, and a unique cabin experience. While we’re sorry the cabin wasn’t the right fit for your preferences, we remain committed to providing future guests with an accurate listing, responsive service, and a memorable stay. And the price point represents such!
