We really enjoyed staying in this place. The owners are very responsive.
(2 adults 2 seniors in late May)Great location and proximity to downtown -- very walkable to a variety of shops, restaurants and parks! Host was very responsive and quickly resolved any issues. This is a quirky turn-of-the-century home that has been modified to allow multiple tenants to stay/live there. The neighbors were very quiet, so not an issue with noise where you shared a wall in the LR. Although the house rules/policies ask that you remove your shoes to protect the wooden floors, I recommend not going barefoot or even with socks as the floors are old and in some places have splintered wood and changes in level going into a different room that could cause splinters and tripping. It took us a bit to figure out the Nest thermostat (printed instructions would have been helpful). The bedroom on the main floor does not get great airflow like the other living spaces on that floor, so needed to keep the doors open at night to stay cool enough. Also helped to move the end table near the couch which blocks a vent. There is a ceiling fan in the game room area immediately outside the bedroom, but the only option we could figure out always had the light on -- the pull cords didn't affect the light, so couldn't use it to push cooler air into the room (perhaps a floor fan would help?) There is ample storage in the rooms/closets/cabinets and a nice large kitchen table where we enjoyed playing games in the evening. The jet tub felt wonderful after long days of hiking!
