An outstanding apartment retreat in Rome

  • 5 of 5

We agree with the positive reviews others have left regarding our eight (8) day stay at this rental. This is a very well-furnished and equipped (e.g., high linen quality, kitchen and bath staples), comfortable, quiet, thoughtfully designed/appointed oasis conveniently located in the center of historic Rome. In comparison to rentals we have stayed in Cabos San Lucas, Provence, Seattle, Vancouver, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, Paris, this apartment's amenities far exceed expectations. The private courtyard was another bonus which provides a quiet retreat at all hours of the day. The apartment building and street were also very quiet as a centrally located destination. As an early to bed, light sleeper who slept in the master bedroom on the street side, there was no sleep interruption except for one night at about 10:30 when we heard someone talking outside the window. Otherwise, you may get some early morning noise (i.e., after 7 am) as the city starts buzzing again, however, this din will be heard throughout Rome; this apartment is clearly in one of the quieter locations if you want to be in the historic center. Our college aged daughter slept in the second bedroom on what appears to be a high quality sofa bed. She is usually not happy about sofa beds, but she said this one was actually comfortable. The owner made the effort to provide an excellent collection of Rome guidebooks as well as other reading topics to enjoy as you rest on the patio or in bed from all the walking you will do. Additionally, there is a very comprehensive bound notebook to guide visitors on Rome sights, restaurants, shopping, house machine manuals, etc. The only thing to improve the experience is to have a chaise lounge on the patio. Otherwise, this apartment is high on the list as a place to return and it has already been recommended to our friends who plan to travel to Rome. The owner and the the apartment manager were very accommodating.

A quiet refuge in the middle of the City

  • 5 of 5

This is a fabulous apartment near the Bourghese in Rome. Very well appointed and supplied. Minutes from the Spanish Steps but worlds away from the hustle and bustle of Rome. Complete privacy in a small well maintained building but walking to distracted to great restaurants, shopping and museums.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, mother and I spent a wonderful week in this fabulous apartment. Located in the Piazza Barberini area it is close to the Via Veneto and the Trevi area. The Metro and buses are a couple of blocks away making everything accessible. The apartment is beautiful. It is so well appointed with a modern kitchen and bathrooms and very tasteful furnishings and decor. The layout was perfect for our needs with the living/dining area being in between the master bedroom and bath and the second bedroom/den. The courtyard is beautiful and adds a whole other dimension to the space. From the minute we arrived we knew it was a good choice. Amalia, the property manager lives up to her reputation and was delightful. She was very helpful both before and during our stay. We would definitely recommend this apartment.

Great location tucked away in Ancient Rome!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay here in Rome! As it was our first stop in Italy, I didn't realize how fortunate we were to have access to a washer AND DRYER (a rarity in Italy), a large refrigerator, AIR CONDITIONING, AND a private garden (ANOTHER RARITY, especially in the city!). The apartment was really centrally located to everything we wanted to see and do in Rome. We especially enjoyed going to the Spanish Steps area, which is really close by, for gelato in the evenings. We felt very safe walking around. I had read a previous review that a renter was awakened early by the street noise, so we brought a noise canceling sound machine for the master bedroom , and we didn't hear a thing! The master bed was very comfortable, and the linens were all terrific quality. We were one block to the Capuchin Crypts and two blocks to the Piazza Barberini. I would go back there in a heartbeat!

The neighborhood is equally wonderful. From the Portone of the building you can see Bernini's spectacular Triton fountain in the center of the piazza Barberini.

On the other side of this piazza is the famous Palazzo Barberini, with it's wonderful art collection.

This piazza has excellent transportation options to access all of Rome with a metro stop, several bus lines, and taxi stand in front of the elegant hotel Bernini.

In the other direction, you are just a 5 minutes walk to the top of the Spanish Steps and the Villa Borghese gardens.

The neighborhood also has a wealth of restaurant options from small, charming trattorias to the elegant restaurant and roof- top dining of the nearby Via Veneto.
