Four Bedrooms, Comfortable, Spectacular Views, Boating, Swimming and family fun
There are two houses on the property. In June of 2015 we completed a complete and total re-build of the carriage house and are back up and running on VRBO. Since retiring in 2014, Clarissa and I are living full time in the house and you may see us from time to time, but the carriage house 'cottage' has been designed to be a get-away that is comfortable, elegant, private, cozy and memory making. It is perfect for families, couples, and or friends just wanting to spend some time together. It is far enough away from civilization to enjoy the water, sky, trees and wildlife, without being entirely out of touch. You are in short driving distance to Cambridge, Easton, St. Michaels, and Salisbury for lots of day-trip entertainment. For nature lovers, we are near the Blackwater Refuge for kayaks or canoes. For hunters, this is an area sought after by those interested in ducks, geese, deer, turkey and others. For golfers, there are two nearby golf courses and plenty of varied and highly-rated local restaurants.
If you’d rather just stay on the property in a quiet, secluded natural arena, you can enjoy boating, kayaking, fishing, crabbing (right from the pier), swimming, walking, biking, sitting with your favorite folks, or holding down the hammock with a good book. In cool or rainy weather, there are games, books, internet and TV. The house is designed for entertaining, with a brand new kitchen equipped with plenty of cooking paraphernalia, and the living space is conducive to easy conversation and lots of comfortable seating.
There are two different areas for dining, inside or under the pergola, all in view of the Brooks Creek/Choptank vista. It is perfect for a family to get re-acquainted or a romantic getaway. We provide the ambiance, you provide the fun!
Living room with 42' flat screen TV, dining room, bathroom and kitchen, two with queen beds and a third with a full size bed, and a loft with two twin sized beds. separate 15 x 12 pergola with slate flooring, adirondacks, fireplace and dining seating for four. The pier can handle motorboats, canoes, or rowboats. Two kayaks are available. Linens and paper ware provided along with all kitchen equipment and dining ware.

About Rob Neumer
We bought this Cambridge property as a family getaway from our full-time jobs in Harford County. Our grown children travel here from various Maryland locations with their friends to do loads of relaxing, kayaking, swimming, jet skiing, and many kinds of games and outdoor fun.
Rob Neumer purchased this Cottage in 2007
Why Rob Neumer chose Dorchester County
The main purpose of this beautiful location is for peace and quiet, beautiful vistas, water, trees and sky. It was discovered with the help of locals who knew of its privacy and scenic view.
What makes this Cottage unique
Reading a book under the pergola with a soft breeze blowing in from Brooks Creek, napping in the hammock, or enjoying a fire after sunset with friends makes this a restful, rejuvenating place.

This place was beautiful and we enjoyed so much that we want to go back there again.
Rob was super friendly and he had everything we needed so it was really convenient. What a beautiful and relaxing place to be!
Great getaway for nature loving people.
Great place for peace and quiet entertainment. But also fun things to do like kayaking, grilling, swimming (great for smaller kids as it is very shallow).
House is very clean and very nice atmosphere to hang around in.
Owners very friendly too, live on the same property, but still privacy if you like.
Peaceful tranquility that facilitates renewal
We loved our stay at Brooks Creek Vista. The place was very clean and tidy, both inside the apartment and outdoors. The view of the water was ever-changing with the many weather fluctuations we had over the course of the 6 days we spent there. This is a very quiet place, perfect for writing and painting when not engaging in outdoor activities. We used the kayaks and paddled around, enjoying absolute quiet on the water. Not one boat was seen! The fire pit was a great spot for cooking over the fire and enjoying watching some common loons feeding, getting ready for their big flight north. There is a big eagle's nest that can be seen from the property, and we lucked out and saw the mated pair on the nest one evening. We saw eagles every day! We went to the Blackwater Wildlife Refuge and saw many waterfowl, which was a highlight. We borrowed the old bikes that are available. They were a bit old and creaky, much like my knees! It was fun to tool around with them for a bit. The only thing that I had wished was different was the living room furniture. It was pretty worn and not very supportive. However, this would not be enough to keep me from coming back to enjoy this place in the future. Rob was very accommodating and helpful with suggestions, and very open to sharing their beautiful space with us and our dogs. Highly recommended.
Fantastic! All around
We had an amazing trip. The view could not of been any more beautiful from any angle you stood. It was something out of a post card. Very clean, very homey & comfortable. Rob & Clarissa were amazing hosts. Would stay there again in a heart beat
Great special place to stay, reccomend highly
A great comfy place to spend time with friends. The views during the day and at night are beautiful and ever changing. The supplies of linens and equipment are plentiful. The bedrooms and living/dining room are comfortable and tastefully appointed. The loft with 2 twin beds is only accessible by ladder. The apartment is on top of a garage, so the steep outside stairway was difficult to use for some of us' elderlies'. The main apartment has one well appointed bathroom (we never saw the 1/2 bathroom). The hosts are very kind and accommodating. We visited the Blackwater Wildlife Refuge and the beautiful new Harriet Tubman Museum and followed some of her trail and only had time to drive through historic Cambridge. Two nights is just not enough for exploring the area. Although we had plans to explore a restaurant, we ended up relying on our own plentiful and tasty cooking.
Can’t say enough good things about our hosts and their beautiful home. If ever in the area would hope to be able to stay here again. Lovely
