Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms (sleeps 10-12)

We are so excited to share this wonderful cabin as a vacation rental that we recently purchased. Our cabin is ideal for family and friends OR a cozy romantic get-a-way. We have had our eye on it for years! (We love it and know this location well because our personal family cabin is located on the property next to it and has been in our family since the mid 70's.) This vacation rental is located in Arnold's private Lake Mont Pines, and is only an easy three minute walk down to the lake-side beach and association Club House.

This smart mid-size cabin floor plan was a winning combination for us (1600 square feet). There is the ability to sleep 11 to 12 guests while giving a little separate privacy for more than one family.

1 king size (Master-lower level)

Upper Level

2 queen size beds

5 twin beds

1 full size pull out sofa bed

An easy access driveway (NOT STEEP) for unpacking and parking is a real plus especially when it snows! Parking can accommodate 4 vehicles and/or boat.

Entering the cabin you will find a warm open floor plan, including: living room, kitchen and dinning area. Inviting you to relax after a long day with comfortable seating where you may put your feet up, socialize, eat, drink, and be merry.

The living room has a large comfortable leather sofa, love seat, and recliner making that time for those 'ski and fish stories,' and a place to watch TV programs.

The kitchen is equipped to make cooking efficient, easy and chef friendly. The large pantry/laundry room provides plenty of space for groceries or that Costco overflow.

- Dinning area and expandable table seats 8 plus

- A spacious Deck is attached to make entertaining and guarding the food on the BBQ convenient.

- Spacious Master Bedroom (first level) has a king size bed with a large closet and storage.

- Full size bathroom has plenty of room with shower/tub.

Walk upstairs and immediately find yourself in the loft 'game area' furnished with Sofa/Sleeper, Love Seat, TV for DVD's or for your video game hook-ups, and fooseball table .

Two large bedrooms, separated by the loft gives added privacy.

The second full bathroom (with shower/tub) is centralized upstairs making it easy to share.

This area offers so much to do. Arnold is centrally located between Bear Valley, local lakes and rivers, and two National Parks. It is one of the reasons we chose to purchase this second cabin. Skiing and Snowboarding at Bear Valley has been a wonderful part of our lives and then there are summers at the lake. We 'know' where to fish, shop, and visit historical gold rush towns like Murphy's and Columbia. Ironstone Winery offers a great concert venue with billboard artists and bands(Check out their website for concerts!) Nothing is better than listening to your favorite artist under the stars and breath taking views. New Melones Reservoir is a 30 minute drive for water sports and sport fishing. Also white water rafting trips and kayaking, cycling events and Moaning caverns are all nearby. Of course we have 'our' other fantastic spots but we can talk about those later! We have years of personal first hand knowledge and have had many adventures!

So bring your skis, bikes, books, kayak, boat to a great place to relax at day's end.

Summers at Lakemont Pines sandy beach are wonderful! Offering the security of Lifeguards, a Snack Shack, Paddle Boats, Basket Ball, Table Tennis, Volley Ball, Shuffle Board, Play Ground Equipment and a rental shack for equipment.

About our No Pet Rule... We love dogs and cats, however, family members have asthma and have severe dog and cat allergies.

About Brian and Christine Allen

OUR FIRST CABIN: I have been coming up to Arnold since 1977. My Uncle and Aunt built the cabin next door. When Christine and I started a family, we spent almost every summer on the lake or down on the river fishing or skiing. Winters... 'Bear Valley' where our children learned to ski and then snow board. They took lessons starting at the age of 2 and 4 at the Bear Valley Ski School. Our family had a great experiences with the instructors and the program. When my Uncle and Aunt decided to sell their cabin we stretched ourselves so that would could buy 'our little peace of heaven - our first 'Treehouse'. Our children are now adults and we are looking forward to spending time with our grandchildren when the day comes.

Brian and Christine Allen purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Brian and Christine Allen chose Arnold

OUR SECOND CABIN: After many years(decades) of enjoying our cabin we had the chance to buy the cabin next door. Our close friends had to sell their home away from home. We had always told them that if they were to sell, we would like to have the first opportunity to buy that cabin. We have always thought it was a smart floor plan and capable of sleeping many people. Our dream has now become our reality. Lakemont has always been our little peace of heaven. So our second cabin(side-by-side) is a new Vacation Rental...we call it Lakemont Pines Treehouse. For many years this place offered a 'vacation' where my wife could actually 'relax' a little and enjoy quality time with her favorite people. It turned into a joke that people would almost always extend their vacation and stay a little longer. It is a great area to spend time.

What makes this cabin unique

It has always felt like an easy driving time from the Bay Area, about 2 1/2 to 3 hours and we are there.(About the time you are tired of being in the car... you have reached your destination). At 4200 feet we are at what I call the snow line. We do get snow from time to time, from dustings to about a foot. Our roads stay plowed which make getting in and out of Lakemont very easy most of the time. When we do get snow, the children spend most of the day outside. In the summer, the weather is perfect, warm days and cool nights. The walk down to our lakeside is a short walk down the road (about a 3 minute walk). As our children got older they had the freedom to run down to the lake or run back up to the cabin....yes we didn't always have to drive!

Enjoyed our stay!!!

  • 5 of 5

This is a very comfortable and well equipped cabin. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. There are plenty of beds for a large family or group and best of all bed linens and towels are provided. I don't think prospective renters realize what a bonus this is. Having to pack sheets & blankets for 8 beds is way too much of a hassle for me!!! My grandkids loved "the kid's living room" upstairs. It was very warm the week we stayed....the owners have provided plenty of fans and there are two ceiling fans upstairs. We brought a few of our own fans so we all slept comfortably. Brian (owner) was very easy to reach and always willing to answer any questions we had. I highly recommend this cabin.

June visit

  • 4 of 5

Always love a summer visit to Lakemont Pines. Walking distance to the beach. Initial trouble with garbage pickup. Would recommend some work on the window and sliding door screens. We had everything we needed in the kitchen for easy meal prep. Great laundry area.

Great weekend in the mountains

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay here. The property is just as the listing and photos describe it. We had two families with young kids and we had plenty of space. We used the house as a home base to ski and play in the snow. I'm sure the house would be great in the summer too! The hosts were very responsive.

Comfortable stay in Lakemont Pines

  • 5 of 5

We loved the cabin and its proximity to Big Trees and Murphys. It was also our first time visiting the lake at Lakemont Pines and were impressed by the ease of use with the swim tags and parking pass provided by the cabin owners. At no charge the lake also lets you borrow a kayak, paddle boat, floats, and sand toys. The cabin was very comfortable, quiet, and had everything we needed. Thankfully the owners take care of the trash so you don't need to haul it to Avery. The last two cabins we stayed at in Arnold we had to take the trash with us. Hope to return again soon!
