Great Cape Cod Charm, renovated home, 7 Bd, 2.5 Bth, SLEEPS 20
Our family has been going to Dennisport for 3 generations. We plan on retiring in this house down the road. We are a casual family that appreciates summers at the Cape and family values. Although I consider Dennisport my home, we live year round North of Boston.
Lynn purchased this House in 2013
Why Lynn chose Dennis Port
We purchased this home because of the location to the beach, town and because it's in Dennisport. I feel at home here because that's where my parents brought us every summer. Dennisport offers beaches on the ocean side and beaches on the Bay side of the Cape. This house is an old Captains house and was built in the late 1700's. Registered as the oldest home in Dennis Port It has all the charm of a typical Cape Cod home, the kitchen and bathrooms have been updated. Very solid quiet home. Because its the Cape and an old home we cannot prevent possible dampness or a fly, mouse etc from possibly getting in the house. We treat the house with preventive measures, but cannot guarantee no bug will enter the house, especially through the great/garage room. Its still a garage! Please no parking on the grass we have an irrigation system.
What makes this House unique
The farmer's front porch is the place to relax, read a book, play a game or enjoy a beverage. Many homes at the Cape have very little land to them, this property offers a lot of quiet and privacy. We also loved how many people it will sleep, perfect for multiple families. 3/4 of an acre and plenty of space to get alone time. Very quiet rooms. Where do I purchase my beach sticker (not daily passes)? Purchase your stickers at the Town Hall (685 Route 134, South Dennis), Monday-Friday 8:30-4:00. If you like new and crisp modern homes this house is not for you. Its targeted to large family groups at a reasonable price. Great Rental for Large Family
Definitely an older home but some great features. We had coffee on the shaded front porch, dinners on the large back deck and games in the converted garage-now a family room with bar. Large lot with a fire pit. 3 refrigerators were a nice feature.
Used the large professional gas grill, amazing margarita blender, the provided pack and play for a baby crib. We had family members coming and going but a max of 15 at one time and beds for all (plus extra twins). Window AC in bedrooms plus fans.
Less than a mile walk to the beach (one truck bought a weekly parking pass and drove the umbrellas, chairs, etc while the rest of us walked back and forth. We also made the 2 block walk to Sunday School for ice cream more than we should have!! Overall a great rental. Lynn was very responsive to any questions before and during our stay.
Thank-you very much for your 5 star rating, we try to make the house comfortable, affordable and convenient for families to have a nice vacation! Things we would want. You guys were excellent guests and left the house in great shape, we appreciate you renting with us and treating our home well. Come back next year!
Wow is a word that comes to mind. Really great old house with all the updated amenities. As advertised plenty of room for 20 people. Linen service great perk, central location easy to get anywhere on the cape. Great family friendly front and back yards and porches. Absolutely 5 stars from the whole clan. The property provided the perfect place for a wonderful family reunion. Lanette was quick to respond to any questions we had. The location is great--right in the middle of everything, and easy to get to the places we wanted to go. The wifi was spotty, and there were not enough outlets for the number of devices brought by our party of 15. You might want to bring a few power bars and/or extension chords. Otherwise, a great place for your large group.
Great stay in the Cape
Me and some friends stayed at Lynn's for a week in the summer and had a great time! House and location were great and Lynn was very easy to communicate with. I would definitely stay there again.
Charming house with lots of space
We had a great stay! Plenty of room for multiple families and great gathering spaces. The house had everything we could need and was in a nice central location on the cape. Lanette was a great host and always available for questions and advice on the area. We would definitely stay again!
Thank-you so much for the 5 stars. Even happier you had a nice vacation with your family!
Come back next year, we honor the same rate.
Perfect for our family reunion
Our family of 20 came from all over (Colorado to Amsterdam) to spend a week together at Cape Cod. Having four generations, this home suit us perfectly as there were beds for everyone, seating for meals, a great yard for the kids & lawn games, and good location for all the Cape has to offer.
It had been 8 years since our last visit and everyone was more than ready to rekindle the memories we had from years ago. Now that we were more grown (grand-kids in their mid 20's to early 30's), we wanted a home that could hold all of us. Granted, there are four bedrooms in the main house that provide the greatest privacy and the remainder either needs to handle a bunk bed or dormitory style bedding (that we affectionately called "the orphanage"), but that aside, this historic home fit the bill!
Our favorites: West Dennis beach - although Sea Street Beach is walk-able we found more room and enjoyed amenities at the larger beach, nearby golf (Dennis Highlands is a great course, and the very playable par 3 Blue Rock is beautiful and fun for all abilities), bike riding along the Rail Trail, the short walk to Sundae School ice cream - best on Cape, and 10 of us took a group fishing trip on the Helen H and caught 57 Scup's, which we turned into dozens of fish tacos for the gang that evening. We also used the fire pit in the yard almost every night, prompting endless conversations. I can not imagine a better place for us.
The owner Lynn is wonderful. She communicated with me every time I had questions (email at first, then text and phone calls on move-in day), and sincerely wanted her home to be a place that we could consider as our own - which we did! We won't forget our time there.
Walk to downtown Dennisport, Sundae School, restaurants, bars, cafe's. Enjoy the many beaches of Dennisport from this centrally located home.
