Wish Marilyn had let us know about the electrical issue as soon as she found it, instead of via email after she left. We had it fixed right away.

Really??!! The house was clean professionally. There were no complaints about the cleanliness off the cottage. The lawn was done by our by our lawn provider on Monday. We actually paid extra to because previous renters did not clean up after their dog. As far as as the hot water heater and toilet, I called to check in with the renters the next day, to make sure everything was ok. As soon as I was made aware of a problem, it was taken care of. I'm sorry, it happened, but it was resolved immediately and there were no other complaints. I'm sorry there were problems ,but you need to communicate if there are such.

I chose to wait to respond to this review a few weeks after I had a some time to process this guests stay. Our cottage is our "happy place". It is not perfect, but it certainly is not unhealthy, unsanitary, or unsafe. I will try to address MS. Despires main points; as there are so many and many are false: 10% discount: Eve failed to mention that they had already received a 25% discount off their rental. Also, the reason they wanted to cancel was because the water level was very high. They sent their friend to our cottage on 2 occasions that we are aware of to take pictures. Our docks our also floating docks. Shelving: I checked with my cleaning lady, who was at the cottage 2 hours prior to Eve and Robert's arriving and the shelving was fine. We offered to drive up and take care of the shelving, assist Eve with the Internet and assist Robert with the TV. Eve told us not to bother as we live an hour and half away. Washing machine: the washing machine was not working upon their arrival, as we were waiting for a part to come in. A service tech. was scheduled to take care of the machine 2 days after Eve's arrival and she was fine with this. Eve failed to mention that after the tech left, he had to be called back to teach her how to use the machine, because she could not figure it out. Upon having the washing machine serviced after Eve's final call, it was determined she was probably overloading it. This is why it was not draining. We have had no problems since the last service call. Cleanliness: Our is very clean. Before each renter arrives the cottage is cleaned thoroughly. We used to keep mothballs in the bottom of the garbage can in the kitchen, but stopped that last year, after another renter had problems. The Cottage is not completely level and the ceilings are low. We do have a water cooler and supply 10 gallons of spring water for our guests for drinking. The water is fine for cooking with. Robert and Eve were staying a month and water only cost $1.25 for 5 gallons refilled. We were never made aware that the cleat came off the dock, or else we would have had it fixed. Eve complained about a series of other things during her stay which were beyond our control, such as: the seaweed around the dock. She told us we needed to have our maintaince man pull it up. The spiders and the spiderwebs from last year. Impossible to have survived the northern winters. Spiders are common along the River and we spray every spring. To add to the problems: I received complaints from my neighbors that they disregarded their property. Walking on private docks, looking into private boats, taking down parts of fencing so they could walk were they wanted with their dog. One neighbor even told me they considered calling someone about the way they treated their dog It is unfortunate that Eve and Robert were not happy with there accomadations. However. I wish I could post pictures of the condition on which they left our home. One would think we had rented to a group of college students on spring break. A rating of 1 star was given because you had to give something If possible I would recomend blocking this couple from renting another person's property.

One of the best renters I have ever had!!! Communication was excellent and respected our property!!

John and his friends were great guests! Wish the fish had cooperated for their trip! Hope to have them back as guests again soon.
