A perfect spot for a couple. Outdoor shower and courtyard with gardens, large kitchen with counter seating for 4. Outdoor dining room table, seats 10. Central air--although trade winds are strong at this location. Custom-built furniture and closets. Mason house with local stonework. Cathedral ceilings with Cyprus beams and extra tall doors allow for cool Caribbean days and nights. The house sits on the hill and over looks Fish Bay from the center of the valley, allowing guests to appreciate the water and the bay from a unique perspective. Lovers of the sea will appreciate the water's hues.
A brand-new house built by one of St. John's custom home builders. Owner of the property is Ted Robinson. Ted's Supper Club.
Previous executive chef of Paradiso and co-owner/chef of Tage. St. John resident for 15 years. Previously located: Northern California and Key West.
Jessie purchased this villa in 2013
This property was amazing. The views, the spacious accommodations, the amenities and the support from both Ted and Nakuru was fantastic. We came here to privately elope and spend a few days post nuptials and the peacefulness and serenity was just what we needed. It is about a 12 minute drive to Cruz Bay and all the business but we didn't want to be in that craziness this year. Thank you again for a great stay!
Beautiful, romantic, and perfect! The property is stunning and has everything you need. The owner Ted and property manager Jessie were incredibly helpful. This was our 4th trip back to St. John and the best one yet. I would recommend having Chef Ted Robinson (Teds Supper Club) prepare a meal for you one night...... Unforgettable experience and the best cuisine you'll find on the Island. We'll be back for sure!!
There are not enough words to describe Carmel By the Sea and its owner Ted Robinson! Exquisite home inside and out with amazing water/mountain views, a luxurious kitchen, a mystical veranda, outdoor loo, and beyond expected accoutrements...all due to a very thoughtful owner and incredible chef (Ted)! We hope that others get to enjoy this memorable experience.
Great getaway. Comforting and beautiful home. Loved it.
We could not have asked for a more serene, beautiful or relaxing home. The house is perfect with lush plants and a welcoming dog. It was so wonderful after being out most of the day we would bring home dinner and relax on the balcony watching the sun set and the lights come on in the homes on the surrounding hills. Delightful!
Kitchen was well equipped and a welcome basket greeted us when we arrived. Ted was very gracious and helped direct us on how to navigate the very hilly roads.
The pool was a very welcome addition. All was very private and what we needed after a stressful few months preceding our stay. We will return.
We rented the villa the first week of March, 2016 and could not have been happier. It is a wonderful oasis to return to after a busy day exploring the island or to hang out at if you want a lazy day. The house is stocked with everything you could possibly need for a day at the beach or for cooking at home. Make sure you rent a jeep. I was a little concerned we would be to far away from town and the north beaches but it was a very manageable 15-20 minutes to Cruz Bay. If you like the pictures and description of the house you will not be disappointed!
Walking distance to Reef Bay beach, one the longest beaches on St. John and most wild. Paddle-boarding in Fish Bay is exceptional due to the low depth of the water and protected bay for beginners; for intermediate and advanced paddle-boarders, the entrance of the bay opens to deeper waters as well as surf and surrounding bays, including Ditlef Point, Klein Bay, Rendezvous Bay, Reef Bay and Cocoloba Cay.
Fish Bay is a neighborhood with other rentals but mostly local houses. The house is very private and the neighborhood is very friendly. Fish Bay is quieter than other popular St. John neighborhoods.
Fish Bay is a great area for walking. One of the highlights of staying in Fish Bay, is a hike to Reef Bay, the Reef Bay Trail and the historic Reef Bay Sugar Mill ruins. Neighboring ruins and trails also include, the Reef Bay Great House and L'Esperance ruins and Trail.
The house property line borders the Virgin Islands National Park and the Fish Bay gut. Also popular, are hikes along the Mollendal gut which is walking distance from the house.
The property is accessed by paved road, a car is necessary. The driveway is island-steep and unpaved.
