Overview

About the property

Enjoy a unique experience by staying in our yurt on a quiet alpaca ranch.

Never been in a yurt? It is a tent-like circular fabric structure with a wood lattice frame. Our yurt has comfortable furnishings such as a queen bed with linens, a propane free standing stove, electric lighting, 32' flat screen HD tv, fully equipped kitchen (including oven, microwave, refrigerator, plates, pots, etc) and a bathroom with a shower. The floors are polished pine wood with french doors that open to a deck with meadow and forested views.

Leave your worries at home as this is a place to come and unwind (cell service is spotty in this area, generally at&t works). Stroll through the meadow to greet our alpacas and have a picinic next to the creek.

Near hiking, lakes, restaurants, quaint downtown, and historic gold mines.

This yurt is non-smoking.

peaceful zen

  • 5 of 5

This was everything I was hoping for and so much more!! We had a very warm welcome by our host's Jeanette and Michael as well as Corkey the golden-doodle. They had everything we could possibly need for our stay. Fresh coffee and cream for the morning, to fresh towels. Jeanette even baked us a apple cobbler that she left in the fridge. As soon as you enter the yert there is this overwhelming feeling of peace and comfort. I like to think i'm inside of a "I dream of Jeanie" bottle. Beautiful setting in the woods, and Alpaca farm just a short walk down the drive. We had a really good time getting to feed the animals apples. They sure are a goofey bunch. 10 out of 10 for sure. We will be back.

So peaceful, wondering hosts

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in Grass Valley- the Yurt was so clean and comfortable, and homey, and the Alpacas were a delight. Our hosts were so warm and friendly, open and we truly had a great stay. Certainly highly recommend it and we will be back for sure. Thank you Michael and Jenette ( and Corky and Alpacas)

Wonderful, quiet stay in a natural place with lovely hosts.

  • 5 of 5

The yurt is absolutely charming, and nicely appointed. Very comfortable bed. We loved hearing a flock of robins settle into the trees to roost at dusk, gradually falling silent as it fell dark. Great horned owls hooted each night. A great place generally for birding. We got to meet a friendly bunch of Alpacas, and our hosts were just lovely, and accommodating as can be. We will stay with them again. Our best VRBO experience so far.

Super nice place to stay, plus it has alapacas

  • 5 of 5

The yurt was really cool to stay in. It could get a little chilly at night, but there was heating provided, which was nice.

The main thing for me was alpacas. We fed them some apples. Alpacas love apples (or at least half of them did. Some did not seem to care.)

The land and yurt are quite lovely. I'd recommend checking it out if it looks interesting.
