Elegant ocean side, ocean view townhouse on quiet street walking distance to town and fine or casual dining or shopping. This is one of the most desirable locations on the island and the beaches are very clean and private.

It is a fantastic place that is built on an ocean front lot yet has two duplexes built in front of it (so it is not ocean front...but as close as you can get and definitely the next best thing with breath taking ocean and beach views!!). Next to us is the beach emergency access for the fire department so that is what gives us the spectacular ocean views. This area can never be built on and we sit on our deck and enjoy the surf. You can actually see the waves from the living area, and from the kitchen while eating or cooking. You can even see the sun rise over the ocean while lying in the comfortable Simmons world class beauty rest mattress! Not only is it furnished for supreme comfort it is decorated to make you feel completely at ease and relaxed from the moment you walk in. We made this our home away from home and it is decorated that way. The high top resin deck chairs make sitting on the deck like sitting on a thrown. The view is breath taking.

The property also is walking distance to town and sits on a private and secluded residential section of surf city. There are no other town houses around - just single family homes and it is a 25 mph road for only beach front homes so it is quiet and relaxing. The town house has its own private parking and beach access (no streets to cross of course because you are on an ocean front lot already). You just couldn't have a better location.

This home is newly renovated for the 2014. It is tastefully decorated and features quality fixtures and flooring. There is a well-appointed kitchen features granite counter-tops and a stainless steel sink and facet. There is comfortable furniture throughout the home.

Because we know a good vacation can only be good if you can get a good nights sleep, we feature premium bedding with Simmons World Class Beauty rest mattress. There is one King size and one Queen size bed (one in each bedroom). The second bedroom also has a set of bunks (Twin over twin) with a serta perfect sleeper and a very high end latex mattresses for premium comfort for adults as well as children (not those horrible mattress that you will find on most bunk beds). The home is equipped with custom lighting and many upgrades. Bed linens are included at no extra charge [note that the mattresses are very thick and would require deep pocket sheets if you choose to bring your own]. Departure cleaning is also included . There is a security waiver/insurance fee. There are no booking fees or any other fees.

The home has WiFi (wireless internet), 46' LCD HD TV with DVD. Bedrooms also have cable LCD Flat screen TVs. Sleeping accommodations are two queens, one twin over twin bunk, one queen bed and one twin size sleeper sofa (converted from 'chair and a half' in living area).

Topsail is a great place for families and fun. Enjoy quiet relaxation of the ocean breeze and watching the surf from the comfy high top resin deck chairs or a moonlight walk on the beach. The home has a private access to the beach. Enjoy watching the children play on the beach right from your deck or fish off the beaches right in front of the town house. You can also walk up to the Surf City Pier to see what's biting. Enjoy walking for literally miles on clean white beaches looking for prehistoric sharks teeth (Topsail is one of the few area on the east coast where they are easily found) or gather shells or 'sea beans' (small polished pebbles) for you collection. Visit the famous Sea Turtle Hospital here on the Island (see link on other page) or stop at one of our local shops and pick up some fresh homemade fudge, pies or seafood.

This home is pet friendly and we have an assortment of pet food bowels as well as a 42” collapsible crate for our 4 legged guests who prefer to have the privacy of their own space.

About Ted Waltz

We are originally from Kennett Square PA which is near Philadelphia. Debbie grew up in Williamsville NY which is a small town near Buffalo NY and moved to Kennett Square after going to college in the Philadelphia area. Ted grew up and lived most of his life in Kennett Square prior to moving to North Carolina. Teds parents both worked in the school system in Kennett (his father as a teacher and his mother as the school nurse). Ted was a Mushroom Farmer (that region is known for being one of the largest producers of fresh Mushrooms in the world). We both still have family in Kennett Square and in Buffalo but they enjoy coming to visit us in North Carolina (especially in the winter!). Our three children are grown now and one is in Vet School, one is a middle school teacher and the third is studying engineering. We currently live on a small farm outside of Raleigh.

Why Ted Waltz chose Topsail Island

We purchased this home in April 2013 because we owned one of the other town homes in this small block of 5 town homes. It is a fantastic location and a place to come and get away for a little sun sand and relaxation. We have been coming to Topsail for 30 years and our three children have grown up enjoying the beaches and looking for sharks teeth in the sands of Surf City. We used to travel here from the Philadelphia area because the beaches were so clean and private. We've always felt it was worth the trip and met many who traveled much further than us. Topsail is a wonderful family place but it is also a place where fishermen and surfers can share the beach and enjoy the long season of warm crystal clear water. In the fall we would stay out all night and wait on the beach with our children for the turtle nests to hatch. Vacationing in Topsail has always been worth the trip. After 30 years we finally bought our first property (the middle unit in the block of town homes) in Aug 2011. We have had our eye on this property (as an end unit) since we purchased out other one. This property represents a home away from home for us and I know you will find it warm and inviting too. Since we know Topsail with charm you, we made a real effort to renovate this vacation home and its bedding and furnishing so that you will definitely want to return! From our early reviews, we think we hit the mark!

What makes this townhome unique

We love that we can walk to the beach front restaurants and the fishing pier. We also love that we have a great view of the ocean from our deck sitting in the hi top chairs. It is really nice to have a private beach access and not to have to cross the street to get to the beach. It really feels like beach / ocean front without ocean front prices and that makes it very affordable for people to get a high quality rental in a fantastic location. …. And if you are a family that likes to travel with your pet, this is definitely the place for you!

A wonderful relaxing vacation.

The property is well maintained and very comfortable. The owner responds quickly if there is any question. The location is ideal: close to the beach and to the town center of Surf City, within walking distance of many stores and restaurants. We especially liked the mattresses and the chairs on the deck.

Terrific summer getaway!

This is our second summer returning to Topsail Island, and this townhouse is perfect for our family's needs. It is bright, comfortable and well-equipped. We feel like we are home when we visit. We enjoy the patio with a view of the ocean and the wonderful, private access to the beach. The beach is quiet, beautiful and pet-friendly! The townshouse kitchen is very well stocked with everything needed to prepare meals at home, which makes it an affordable option for us. Best of all, Mr. Waltz is so kind, gracious and easy to reach. We have had other experiences at different properties through Home Away, and Mr. Waltz is by far one of the nicest and most welcoming property owners. Easy to deal with, accommodating and so willing to share information about the island. This is the place we want to return every summer. Thank you Mr. Waltz, as always, for a beautiful stay!

Great spot, great size

This was the 2nd time we rented from Ted in this location (last year we rented the unit next door). The home was a perfect size for our family of 3 plus our dog. The unit is nicely renovated, with all the amenities you need for your time away. Both bedrooms are nicely appointed, with a king size bed in one and a queen with bunk beds in the other. We could have had a couple of extra people and it would have been just fine!

The beach access is directly across from the unit or just to the right via the emergency vehicle access (the fire department is across the street!). Either way it is very easy to get out to the sand and set up for the day.

You are in easy walking distance to "downtown" Surf City and some fun, good restaurants, as well as the pier. Overall, I would definitely recommend this location and renting from Ted!

Relaxing, great location!!

We love the location and view and access to the beach. Also nice that we could easily bike or walk to many great restaurants and shop The kitchen is stocked well and everything is in great condition. It is so awesome too that we could bring our dog. That is a huge plus and makes the whole experience better. We love that Topsail beach (Surf City) is so welcoming to dogs and dog friendly as we saw a lot of other dogs on the beach. The only one little area for improvement would be that at the bottom of the steps leading to the parking area is very slippery when wet and it stays wet due the the location of the hose. May need pressure washing to remove built up algae. We would definitely stay here again. Can't wait to come back!!
