About Dan Duncan, property owner
Dan grew up 7 miles northwest of current home. He is a retired pilot, who flew so he could farm and ranch. Norma retired (5/2016) after 31 years of teaching and now I quilt and try to keep up. We have lived here 18 years, lived in Montana for 12 years and Las Vegas for 11 years.
Dan Duncan, property owner purchased this Cabin in 2009
Why Dan Duncan, property owner chose Yellow Jacket
This home was originally built because our son was an officer in the Marine Corps and it was his home when he came home for extended times. He is now located in Cortez, CO. Also, our extended family and friends who come to stay, enjoy the privacy. We are centrally located to many of the main attractions in Southwest Colorado. The land we are located on have a view of the Sleeping Ute Mountain, the La Plata range, Blue Mountains and Lizzard Head.
What makes this Cabin unique

Perfect Family Get Away
Our family of four truly enjoyed our stay at The Yellow Jacket property just outside Cortez, CO. The working ranch and the owners have created a truly inviting cabin that makes you feel like you are in the comfort of your own home as soon as you set foot inside. We mountain biked at Phil's World and did a tour at Mesa Verde during our stay. We looked forward to coming "home" both evenings to cook and relax outside. I don't think in our history with VRBO we have ever seen a property with so many reviews have all five stars from every single guest. We now know why, we would stay here again in the heartbeat. Thank you for a perfect place to stay!
Thank you so much for the review. We look forward to seeing you again, when you come ride Phil's World.
Have a good summer!

Peaceful cabin on a working ranch
We received a very warm welcome from the owners, and a really thoughtful welcome gift with local produce. The cabin is a wonderful place to stay, a cosy wood interior with quirky cowboy touches, such as coat hooks made from horseshoes and a lasso on the wall, and beautifully crafted quilts on the beds.
The kitchen has everything you need for a fully self-catering holiday. If you want to be in the Cortez area, but away from the bustle of a town, the tranquility of Yellow Jacket is ideal. Highly recommended.
Thank you! We hope everything is going well in England. Please take care and stay healthy!
