Escape To The Cool Pines

Sleeps9
Bedrooms 2

Space 1,800 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 - 3 nights

Overview

About the property

2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom, Sleeps 8

Looking to get away for the weekend or for a week? This 1800 sq. ft. cabin is nestled among tall Ponderosa Pines, some 100 years old! A taste of paradise is only about an hour and a half drive from Scottsdale.

The cabin is two stories, the main story being on the second

floor. There are two bedrooms upstairs, one with a queen bed

and the other with two twin beds. Upstairs there is also a

bathroom, family room that has a queen sofa bed and kitchen.

Downstairs there is another family room with another queen futon,

bathroom and laundry room. This is the perfect set up for two

couples or two families as it allows each some privacy. There are

two televisions and DVD players, one in the master bedroom and the

other in the downstairs family room. I have several movies you can borrow. WI-FI is also available.

The deck wraps around the entire second floor so you can

choose to sit in the sun or shade whichever you prefer. There is

a gas BBQ and a hammock you can use. The cabin has three

fireplaces; two wood and one gas. The wood ones are in the

upstairs family room and master bedroom and the gas one is in

the downstairs family room. There is a small fee for wood or you

can bring your own. Don't forget to bring marshmallows to roast!

The cabin sits on an acre and a half of land and backs the

National Forest. It is quite private and quiet. If you walk

into the forest about a quarter of a mile at dusk and you are

quiet and lucky, of course, you could see elk, particularly

in the summer and fall. I have seen up to 20 at a time! At the

very least, you are certain to hear bugling in the middle of the

night if you wake up.

I have a book there that gives you all kinds of ideas as to what

to do; hikes, fishing, swimming holes, restaurants, shops, etc.

Everything you need is there. All you need to bring is your

clothes and food.

About Rhonda Buck

Stoney Hollow is my favorite place in the world. There is just something special about being there. It might be the tall pines and listening to the wind in the trees, or backing the National Forest, or feeding the squirrels, woodpeckers, hummingbirds or deer. I just know that I need to get away there every so often to rejuvenate. When you stay at Stoney Hollow you will realize that you are staying in my home and not a hotel. It is friendly, rustic and inviting. Welcome and enjoy!

It was very welcoming and open. The upper patio gave a perfect view of the trees and wildlife. One of the best properties I've stayed at.

Nice home with alot of room. Saw elk and deer everyday!! Rhonda provides food to feed them. Cant forget to mention the cute squirrels and chipmunks that come to visit. You can see everything from deck that wraps around whole home. We will return.

Quiet and peaceful

We had a wonderful time at Stoney Hollow. Everything we needed was in the house and more. We loved the wrap around deck and it was great for the dogs. Close to hiking and even a very quaint winery definitely would stay the again.

Wonderful Stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at Stoney Hollow!! It was so nice coming in and be greeted with a welcome note and the added touch of chocolate was so unexpected.

Utilized the binder of information to find some activities to do around the area. The elk that visited throughout the week were a highlight for sure.

I would highly recommend!!!

Clean, Comfortable and Fun

We had a great time! The wildlife surrounding the cabin was amazing. We had Elk, Squirrels and lots of Deer. We took tons of pictures and shared them with relatives. We plan on renting Rhonda's cabin again and referred this awesome retreat to friends and family. Thanks for the cabin getaway Rhonda.

Kind Regards

Frank Russman

Great!

Another relaxing weekend at Rhonda's cabin. This is our second time staying there and we will be back. Just absolutely love the seclusion and location of her property. So nice to be able to go out back behind the house and go for a walk in the forest. She has everything there for your accommodations. The cabin is so comfy and cozy!
