2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom, Sleeps 8
Looking to get away for the weekend or for a week? This 1800 sq. ft. cabin is nestled among tall Ponderosa Pines, some 100 years old! A taste of paradise is only about an hour and a half drive from Scottsdale.
The cabin is two stories, the main story being on the second
floor. There are two bedrooms upstairs, one with a queen bed
and the other with two twin beds. Upstairs there is also a
bathroom, family room that has a queen sofa bed and kitchen.
Downstairs there is another family room with another queen futon,
bathroom and laundry room. This is the perfect set up for two
couples or two families as it allows each some privacy. There are
two televisions and DVD players, one in the master bedroom and the
other in the downstairs family room. I have several movies you can borrow. WI-FI is also available.
The deck wraps around the entire second floor so you can
choose to sit in the sun or shade whichever you prefer. There is
a gas BBQ and a hammock you can use. The cabin has three
fireplaces; two wood and one gas. The wood ones are in the
upstairs family room and master bedroom and the gas one is in
the downstairs family room. There is a small fee for wood or you
can bring your own. Don't forget to bring marshmallows to roast!
The cabin sits on an acre and a half of land and backs the
National Forest. It is quite private and quiet. If you walk
into the forest about a quarter of a mile at dusk and you are
quiet and lucky, of course, you could see elk, particularly
in the summer and fall. I have seen up to 20 at a time! At the
very least, you are certain to hear bugling in the middle of the
night if you wake up.
I have a book there that gives you all kinds of ideas as to what
to do; hikes, fishing, swimming holes, restaurants, shops, etc.
Everything you need is there. All you need to bring is your
clothes and food.

About Rhonda Buck
Stoney Hollow is my favorite place in the world. There is just something special about being there. It might be the tall pines and listening to the wind in the trees, or backing the National Forest, or feeding the squirrels, woodpeckers, hummingbirds or deer. I just know that I need to get away there every so often to rejuvenate. When you stay at Stoney Hollow you will realize that you are staying in my home and not a hotel. It is friendly, rustic and inviting. Welcome and enjoy!

Great place to relax in the mountains!
We absolutely loved staying at Rhonda's cabin. The location was easy to get to but tucked away enough that we felt that our neighbors were miles away. Backing to the national forest provided great opportunities for easy walks in the evening, and wonderful Pine was only 3 minutes away. The cabin was the perfect size for the three of us without even having to venture downstairs to the lower level. We had everything we needed, but if there were a few more traveling with us, the additional space below would have been more than enough to keep things from being cramped. The best part of the stay though was the abundance of wildlife. We were very appreciative that Rhonda left us some food for the elk and squirrels, and we spent most mornings and evenings watching the animals meander by and eat from the "elk trough" directly below the deck. While it was a quick stay, the cabin exemplified why we love visiting the area frequently.
Nice and clean place to stay. Lots of wildlife including elk and deer all around you. If you want quiet and seclusion this is the place to go.
Perfect location and homey!
Great experience for our family. The cabin was clean and homey. Had everything we needed for our stay and life the wildlife. Not too close to neighbors and amazing wildlife. The circular stairs are a little tricky but after a day you get use to them. Huge deck all the way around the house made it easy to enjoy outside. Definitely a great place to stay.
Very nice place on the middle of nature ;-)
We had just a weekend, but loved the place immediately. When we arrived, went upstairs and looked out of the window, a few elks were already waiting to welcome us. The all-around balcony is great for picking your favorite spot depending on time if day, and from the main family room we have been able the watch also deers, squirrels and lots of birds. Since it was raining a lot we didn't hike as much as usual, but watching 'Nature TV' was more than compensating and very relaxing.
A great place for everyone who loves nature and looks for a little rest.
Peaceful and quiet
We really enjoyed our trip. Rhonda was very accommodating and friendly. The cabin itself feels like a home. It is not pretentious in anyway. It is set up with everything you need and fully stocked. All you need to bring is clothes and food. It is perfect for a family het away. For sleeping arrangements there is one queen and two twin beds. But there is 2 pull out couches and a futon If need be. If you don't want to cook there are plenty of restaurants just a short drive into town. Our favorite part waa the wildlife. A herd of elk came by everyday!
We had a great time at the Cabin. Thanks so much Rhonda for letting us check out late.
It was sprinkling but very cozy with the fire place inside.
The views behind the cabin are amazing, we’ll definitely go hiking next time.
We’ll be back! Thank you, highly recommend.
Tonto Natural Bridge State Park is 5 minutes away. Mogollon Rim with additional views, hiking and fishing is approximately 15 - 20 minutes away.
