A great place to unwind, relax and enjoy the unique enviroment.
Spent a month here and enjoyed our stay so much.
The house was outfitted perfectly for all our needs including tubes, firewood, cleaning supplies, laundry and kitchen necessities. The beds were comfortable as was all the furniture.
The Rainbow River is a beautiful natural amenity full of wildlife crystal clear and 72° temperature, perfect for awimming. Peaceful and quiet early in morning and late in the evening but supporting a lot of outdoor activities for humans that didn't seem to deter the animals and birds. Otters, raccoons, birds of every sort just off the dock for our enjoyment. It was really incredible.
We brought our own kayaks and bikes, owner Mary Ann can provide kayaks for a reasonable fee. We swam, snorkled, tubed and kayaked nearly every day and when we weren't doing that biked the Dunellon and Withlacoochee bike trails.
Dunellon is a fine town with fresh seafood and produce markets available daily. There are some great little boutiques for shopping. Restaurants are great in town. The opportunities to sight- see are plentiful and fairly close: Crystal River, Cedar Key, Yankeetown and three State Parks.
Mary Ann answered all our questions, made suggestions for activities, restaurants and services in town and was most helpful in every way. I would not hesitate to return and most highly recommend this property.
We had a great time at the river. The owners were there to have everything ready. We spent four days, and everything went very well. The house was comfortable and the yard was well maintained. We had our own dock and sat out there in the mornings and evenings enjoying the wildlife on the river. We will definitely be going back.
Live Well, Love Much, Laugh Often Kinda Place
Our word choice for the weekend was EPIC! It started with the warm welcome from the owners. We cooked dinner that night with the fully equipped kitchen and watched the otters play on the dock that over looks the crystal clear Rainbow River. The property is very well maintained and comes with everything you would need but food, clothes, and toiletries. Photos are accurate and true. The owners were fabulous and kind beyond words! This is a property that is fun without ever having to get into your car. We took advantage of the volleyball net, fire pit, canoe, kayaks, tubes, windows open, swimming, and bathing in the river. Personal recommendations: Use the property for what it's worth! The owners want you to enjoy yourself- that is why they are kind enough to share Grandma's house. Sip your coffee early in the morning on the dock- it's sublime taking in the view of the river full of otters, birds, and bass. Enjoy a cocktail on the dock and watch the sunset. Go to the Blue Gator and dance to the live bands. People were extremely kind in town! Take the tubes to Swampy's by car. They will drive you up river to the KP hole. The house is right in between the KP hole and Swampy's. We stopped at the house for a lunch break and then tubed back to the car. It was perfect! Live, laugh, love and be respectful to this place. It is truly an invigorating experience. We are so thankful we stubbled across the small town of Dunnellon and this HOME! Thank you very much for opening it up to us. We cannot wait to return!
Rainbow River Fun!
Wonderful month long stay!
Owners were very pleasant.
We had a wonderful time!
We had a wonderful time! The photos of the house were accurate, clean and well maintained. The owner, Mary Ann was very accommodating when we made the reservations for our weekend getaway. We especially loved the fact that our chocolate lab was able to join us to enjoy the river. We will definitely be back!
Perfect River House!
This is the perfect destination for a relaxing river getaway! The house is located on a dead end street and houses are all staggered so it is very private and you feel right at home as soon as you pull down the driveway! The house literally has EVERYTHING you will need, so just bring your clothes and your toiletries....vacationing doesn't get any better/easier than this. We had the absolute best vacation! Can't wait to do it all again! Thanks for all the memories and for sharing your home with our family! Jessica
