About the property

Waterfront with private dock, 3 bedroom, 3 full bath, great views.

Welcome to our wonderful waterfront retreat in the woods. We continue to enjoy so many great times at the lake house and now want to share it with others.

This is a lakefront home directly on Lake Anna with 200' of prime waterfront in the sought after Pigeon Run portion of the lake. The area boasts deep water for any size boat even in the worst drought. The house has a large deck to sip your morning coffee and a covered dock where you and the kids will spend hours swimming and enjoying the water. The fishing is great right from the dock and we regularly catch nice sized catfish and bass in the early morning in late afternoon. This is a great area to waterski or tube. Some of your guests can sit on the dock and cheer as they watch your young water skiers get up for the first time on a pair of skis or wake board. There are two marinas (Anna Point and High Point) right around the corner and has a boat launch, snacks and any boating supplies you may need. There are a few restaurants just a short boat ride away.

The home is on two acres. A short walk down the drive will give you access to another 16 acres where you can hike your own private nature trails. Either through a hike or in the home’s great room, there is wildlife. The high vaulted ceilings include a few of the owner’s hunting trophies from the woods of Virginia. Inside or out, there are many opportunities to just prop your feet up and relax.

The master has a king size bed with its own bath. There are two other bedrooms with queen size beds and one also has bunk beds and a toddler bed. The basement has a trundle/day bed which makes into two twins. There are TVs on both levels with many, many movies to choose from. There is also an assortment of games and a ping pong table. Friends will love to hang out on the bar stools in the fully equipped kitchen.

The deck off the great room is a perfect place to eat dinner with a dining area for ten people. There also is a gas grill for those nights you want to throw on a steak or eat the day’s catch. Smores around the fire pit is a favorite of kids and adults alike. The rental comes with the use of a three person canoe for exploring a meandering creek not too far from the dock.

There is a local winery, restaurants, grocery store and various other shopping just minutes away. Everything you need to have the perfect vacation is here!

Perfect for our trip

  • 4 of 5

We had a very nice time at Days on the Dock. This is our 7th stay on the lake and our 1st time to try a new home. We needed the extra space for our family and kids friends. The ac was not working on arrival due to lightening strike, but we were made aware of this prior to arrival. Fans were provided and ac fixed exactly when they said it would be!!

We have stayed on a protected cove most of our other yrs, so it was a hard adjustment for our family to be in a busier cove. There was a lot of boat and jet ski traffic on Pigeon Cove. Didn't help it was getting closer to the 4th holiday and right around the corner from 2 marinas.

The grounds were perfect for our kids and friends to set up corn hole and have a great time playing. The dock and lounge chairs were perfect for hanging out at the dock for lazy afternoons.

The beds were very comfortable with the exception of the bunk beds...very unstable feeling to 18yr olds as well as not the most comfortable. Linen service was great...nice sheets and towels, plenty of them.

Thank you for opening your home and allowing us another great vacation on the lake!!

Beautiful lake front property!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I recently spent a weekend at this lake front home and we plan to book a week this summer! The location is perfect for boating and other water activities because it sits on quiet Pigeon Cove. It has a great large covered dock for the kids to jump off of, swim, and pull our boat up to. The house is everything that lake house should be. Plenty of sleeping room, multiple bathrooms, eat in kitchen, and a large deck for eating meals outside. We loved hanging out at the fire pit, a nice touch. This is a great lake retreat!!!

Perfect family spot!

  • 5 of 5

My son caught his first fish (a catfish) off the dock using bread balls and the Spiderman fishing pole in the shed. It was awesome and surprising for both of us. It was very comfortable for five adults and one child. Clean and the linen service worked perfecting. Well stocked kitchen for cooking. The market around the corner sells wood and we made a fire in the pit in the back. We were minutes away from the state park and it was a great launching place for our adventures. I highly recommend it.

Owner's Response: Congratulations to your son on his first fish and it is great to hear that you enjoyed your stay. The central location of this property does make it an ideal spot for the many adventures the lake has to offer. We hope that you vacation again here at the lake.

Lovely property

  • 4 of 5

This is a spacious, if older, home and met the needs our leadership retreat well. The biggest drawback was the lack of curtains or blinds in the bedrooms and bathrooms. This made changing and getting ready a little troublesome. The kitchen does have supplies, but is not what I would call well stocked (i.e. no whisk, limited serving bowls). Everything was very clean. The view of the lake from the deck and dock was spectacular.

Our family rented this property over the Thanks Giving week and had a great time. We are from Colorado and have never been in Virginia before. We spent some time at the Lake Anna State Park which is very close and even made a trip to DC .The house was warm and comfortable and VERY clean. The house also was well stocked with all the kitchen items we needed for a great Thanks Giving Dinner. Thank you for a good experience in Virginia.

Great Labor Day mini vacation!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a great time at this property over the Labor Day weekend. We will definitely book this property again. Very convenient to launch our boat and jet skis at the near by High Point Marina and return for gas, etc. whenever needed. The home's kitchen has a large eat-in area where we gathered (7 of us) for meals and game playing after the sun went down. The two patio tables on the deck overlooking the lake were great for our morning coffee and breakfast! Thank you so much for sharing your lake home with us!

Lake Anna is one of the largest freshwater inland lakes in Virginia, covering 13,000 acres. It is located 72 miles south of Washington, D.C. in Louisa and Spotsylvania counties. The lake is easily accessible from Richmond and Charlottesville, and is one of the most popular recreational lakes in the state.
