Property description

The El Ranchito Del Rio Grande has been part of our family operated orchards for nearly a century, with many fruit trees that bear and grow everything from apples, pears, peaches and cherries, it a delightful piece of land where we have been inviting people to visit for years to come and fish, swim, or raft the Rio grande River and its class 3-5 waters. Near Toas (20 miles) and Santa Fe (45 miles) there is so much to do in the short time you and your family may be visiting.

This place has a nice 1000 sqft 2 bedroom 1 bath house that can sleep 4, and extra as needed. The ability to park your RV while you stay is also available.

If you are a small family, or a older couple looking for some peace and quiet, this beautiful house is just right for you.

With Santa Fe, Espanola, and Toas just miles away, why not put you self in the heart of these beautiful towns. Go to Ojo Caliente for a relaxing Spa and Massage from a natural spring waters.

Owner info

Year Purchased: 2013

About the owner: I am one of the three Carl Berghofer's who live in the Rinconada Valley. My Grand Father has been taking care of this place for most of his life and still lives on the neighboring property. He is a retired Game and Fish Warden from the State, and has many insights into fishing and hunting in the region. My father too lives on an adjacent property and has been part of the Dixon Fire Department since retiring from the State. Because I spent every weekend from school helping my family grow orchard trees and preserving the beauty that is part of Rinconada I decided to buy this property next to my Grand Father from a Alamosa CO business man who recently turn 100 years old. The quiet NM living and green chili's are tribute to his age. I am current a firefighter in Schertz TX (San Antonio) and my wife is a teacher. We have four kids and after they live to college we plan to retire in NM, because of its beauty and tranquility. My late Aunt lived on this property for several years and now I want you to enjoy the tranquility of the Rinconada Valley.

Why the Owner Chose Dixon, NM, USA:
Because I spent every weekend from school helping my family grow orchard trees and preserving the beauty that is part of Rinconada I decided to buy this property next to my Grand Father from a Alamosa CO business man who recently turn 100 years old. The quiet NM living and green chili's are tribute to his age.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
Beautiful sunrises and sunsets, river access and swimming in the Rio Grande, and many historic attractions and scenic drives to the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge and Ski Basins through out the year. US Hill is near by and offers a great place to sled in the snow, Taos offers several other ski places like Red river, Angel fire, and Taos Ski Valley. Local outfitters offer great river rafting and kayaking adventures. Dixon and the local area is one of the largest organic farming region in the NM.
