Windrose Vacation Rental is a one bedroom, 1.5 bathroom suite with a living room, kitchenette, and sitting area. It is located in the lower level of a 3500 square foot European style home. It is perfect for a couple visiting Oregon’s premier wine country (over 70 wineries located within a 5 mile radius!), a first stop on your way to the Oregon coast, or you want to experience a few of our 5 star restaurants. Your suite looks out onto 1.5 acres of park like setting with deer, squirrels, beaver, and other wildlife. It overlooks a creek and wooded area and you can take your glass of wine and walk the loop trail down to the creek. Inside you have TV, iPhone station so you can plug in your Pandora, walk in closet, hot plate for cooking, sitting area for reading, dining table and chairs. Outside you have your own patio that overlooks the canyon which is perfect for your glass of wine in the evening (after that walk along the trail). It is private, quiet, and you kind of feel like you are out in the country with no one around you, but you are almost within walking distance to town.

Windrose Vacaton Rental is the Perfect Get Away Destination!
NEW!!!!! Windrose Vacation Rental has been completely updated and refurbished and will be ready for renters March 11, 2016. All rooms have been freshly painted, all new flooring and carpeting in all rooms, new toilets, new appliances, it's almost brand new. Come experience the new Windrose!
I purchased the Windrose property in 2001 to start my dream of owning and operating a Meeting and Event space. My dream came true in 2003 when I opened Windrose Conference and Meeting Center. For the past 10 years, the business fluctuated along with the economy, but recently, I have seen a huge upsurge in business so I decided to start the vacation rental because Newberg has become a destination area and tourism is booming. I am very excited to see what happens as I have only been open since fall of 2013, but I have a great space, a wild back area that I find fascinating with all the wildlife, and me and my dog, Abby, get to live here too!
Lynn Weygandt purchased this apartment in 2001
I wanted to be in Yamhill County. The huge popularity in the wine country was just getting going but I had a feeling that it was going to explode soon. I was right. Newberg still has the small town feel but it is growing and it was a perfect place to start a business.
The European style home, the colors, the creek, the wildlife, and the business were what drew me to this property, but I have found that the trail to the creek and the bonfires that I have down there makes me never want to leave. I have my own kind of wild paradise right here!
I found the Windrose on VRBO and am glad I did. It exceeded my expectations in many ways. The main surprise was how peaceful and quiet it was. I had pictured in my mind that it was tucked in among shops and businesses on a quaint rural street. But the reality was, it's completely secluded - nothing for neighbors but trees. Lynn, the owner, lives upstairs, but you wouldn't know it unless you need something. She has a business renting out another space next door for meetings, so it probably wouldn't be as quiet as it was for us if there was an event happening. But there's convenient parking and the check-in/checkout is smooth and easy. The rental is comfortable and spacious (there were just 2 of us) with lots of nice touches. I enjoyed the iHome to plug my iPod into. Fridge, coffeemaker, microwave, etc. located code to wine country and lots of great options for meals out. Lynn has put together an information binder to help you find what you're looking for. I'd rent from her again in a heartbeat. She mentioned another guy from Hawaii that rents it for a month every year, and I can see why.
We had a wonderful time at the Windrose apartment. The apartment unit is very well done with a very nice setting. Lynn was an amazing hostess!
We enjoyed our stay and Lynn was very hospitable. The rooms were quiet and the location was good for wine tasting and exploring the Portland area.
I spent 2 nights in the Windrose apartment while visiting my daughter at George Fox University. Lynn was a wonderful hostess and the apartment was well stocked with more supplies than I actually needed for my short stay. The binder guide to the area was a nice touch. The apartment is extremely private and feels remote even though we were only about 5 minutes from the university by car. My daughter was able to stay with me and still make it to her 8 a.m class with time to spare. Lovely scenery out the windows and very relaxing location. The accommodations were sparkling clean and have obviously been updated recently. It was more luxurious and spacious than a hotel room for a great price. Thank you Lynn for the lovely hospitality. It was a pleasure to meet you and Abby; I'm sorry we didn't have the chance to stop in and say goodbye before it was time to leave! I would not hesitate to return. If you are a George Fox parent or just want to explore this beautiful part of Oregon, I highly recommend Windrose!
Lynn the manager is very nice. The grounds are beautiful. The accommodations are cute, but off a busy street; the big problem is it wasn't comfortable. The guests need to be able to control the temperature inside the unit. We were freezing the first night and hot the next (the heater may have been turned on). There were also annoying noises that came from pipes or something. We wouldn't stay there again.
We had a very nice stay. Everything that we needed was there, even an iron and ironing board! It was a very comfortable bedroom suite with a separate bedroom from the kitchen and eating area. Two bathrooms which is always appreciated! The best part was being able to sit outside and listen to the wildlife at night, see the stars and in the morning enjoy coffee and possibly (which we did) glimpse deer down in the ravine and listen to the birds.
I would say that the only negative that we had was no air conditioning - the fan helped - but it would have made sleeping a little better if there had been air conditioning - we were there when the temperatures were above 100.
All in all we had a great stay at Lynn's rental and would stay again. Lynn was very gracious and welcoming - great landlord!
5 five-star restaurants in the local area. It is unbelievable the quality of the restaurants! Personal favorites are Subterra, Recipe, Tina's, Joel Palmer House, but there are many more. Our Oregon pinot noir is the best in the world and you are staying right in the middle of it. Wine tasting is a must do if you enjoy premier wines, and there are about 70 wineries within a 5 mile radius of Windrose Vacation Rental. Wine maps will be provided in the room for you to look over. Getting a REAL overview of the wine country is best by taking a hot air balloon ride at Vista Balloons located at the Newberg Airport. NEW!!!!!! Completely refurbished with all new flooring in all rooms, all rooms freshly painted, new appliances, new toilets, new bed and mattress as of June 2015. Will be ready for renters March 11, 2016.
