About Amy Arrendell

I moved to Waterfall Farm in 1978 to chop wood and carry water and raise my two children. In the last 15 years, The Retreat at Waterfall Farm has been a retreat center hosting yoga, quilting, mens and womens, and other groups retreats. Today, The Retreat is open for families and groups wanting a beautiful place in Nature to enjoy life!

Amy Arrendell purchased this chateau / country house in 1978

Why Amy Arrendell chose Warrensville

Waterfall Farm is a working family farm since 1977, originally raising Frasier Firs for Christmas tree, then rare and unusual ornamental trees and shrubbery. Today,Waterfall Farm produces maple syrup and offers trout and catfish. In addition my daughter and her partner produce a line of custom leather tool belts and bags at the Farm.

What makes this chateau / country house unique

The view up to the top of the Three Top Ridge is majestic, reminding us that Nature is larger than humans, so we can relax and find our place amidst the green of the mountain and the blue of the sky.

The pristine mountain water cascading over the 40' waterfall flows into the New River, the second oldest river on Earth, second only to the Nile.

To protect this water, this ancient mountain land has been placed in a conservation easement through the New River Conservancy, protecting it forever. Come and enjoy the pristine beauty!

Our grandson has a maple thumb

Plenty of room for a family retreat with nice easy hikes and our own private waterfall. We were fortunate to be there at the perfect time for sap collection and syrup making. In fact our grandson spent a full day there helping and learning. The family enjoyed the fruits of his labor each morning! Amy and her family were most friendly and accommodating! would have been really nice to have a dishwasher.

The pictures Amy has for her property don’t do justice to her property.

My family loved it !!!! Got so many beds, bed on the loft is super nice, gas stove is so good if u enjoy cooking. Property is roomy and very well lit up ( big glass windows bring in so much sun inside which we all loved. Wish it was just a little closer to Appalachian ski mountain.

My entire family had a wonderful time. Our stay was relaxing and enjoyable. There is plenty of hiking to do right on the property. And we spent some time shopping in West Jefferson. There are some nice restaurants in this town. We even went to their holiday bazaar on Friday. Majestic mountains surround you every where. This is a great place to relax and unwind. Thank you for letting us bring our dog she enjoyed herself too. Lovely stay.

Great long weekend experience with our family of 3 plus our 2 dogs and our son’s 2 friends (3, 16-year olds). The property afforded us the opportunity to spread out. There was plenty to do without even leaving the property. What a fantastic break! Thanks Amy!

A small group of us attended a retreat. The grounds are lovely, the house clean and welcoming. There is a large kitchen with plenty of space. This is the perfect place to get a way from it all and enjoy peace and serenity in a very pleasing environment. Amy is great to work with!

We enjoyed hiking to the waterfall, playing basketball and the quietness. We found both the beds and other furniture very comfortable. We also loved the interaction with the owner via email and text.
