Hike less than 100 yards up to the top of the mountain and enjoy a picnic overlooking the town of West Jefferson and a beautiful view of Mount Jefferson. Relax on the expansive deck and enjoy the hot tub and gas fire pit table in the evening, or enjoy the view inside. The living room features a two story prow of windows, so you can snuggle up in front of the stone fireplace and still enjoy the stunning 180 degree views unhindered. In fact the front of the home is full of windows on all levels, so you can enjoy the beautiful views while eating dinner, relaxing in bed, playing pool, or even doing dishes in the kitchen.

On the lower level, you will find a bedroom with a queen bed and bunk bed for the kids to enjoy. Chill out while enjoying the view from the lower level game room which features a ball return pool table, an electronic double basketball game, a multicade arcade machine, and a skee ball machine. The game room opens up to a den with a 65 inch TV with surround sound. The lower level also has a full bath and lots of games. You can get a great cardio workout on the elliptical machine before you start your day. If you must work, there is a dedicated work station with an adjustable height desk, keyboard, monitor, and mouse.

On the first floor/main level, you will find a spacious living room with breathtaking views and a beautiful stone fireplace. The high end custom kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, including a double oven, microwave, gas range, air fryer, crock pot, electric can opener, blender, rice cooker, roaster, spice rack, VERY sharp knives and all the baking/cooking/serving dishes, utensils, kitchen gadgets and tools you need to cook a meal for a dozen people. In addition, there is a walk in pantry to store at least a week of food for a dozen people. The main level also features a master bedroom with a log king bed and private bath.

Upstairs on the second floor you will find a second master bedroom with a log California king bed and direct access to the bathroom. The spacious bathroom includes a jacuzzi tub and large shower stall. The upstairs also has a second bedroom with a queen bed.

There is plenty to do in the surrounding area with easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway, lots of great hikes, horseback riding, zip lining, fishing, kayaking, and tubing all within a short drive. Downtown West Jefferson is also just an 8 minute drive, where you will find shopping, restaurants, groceries, an ABC store, and more. Or go shopping in Boone, just 30 minutes away.

During winter months if it snows, you will need 4WD/AWD to get to the house as it is at the top of the mountain. If weather is of concern, please purchase trip insurance. We do not refund due to bad weather or difficulty getting up the road to the house.

Note there is an exterior security camera under the deck pointed at the road leading up to the house. This helps us know if the road needs to be plowed in winter, monitor bear activity, and if unauthorized vehicles are at the house when it is not rented. We do not monitor it while the house is rented.
