About Dawn Browne-Crisler

Hi! We are the Crisler Family and owners of Crisler Cabin in Skykomish, WA. We currently live in Everett, WA and spend lots of time outdoors in Puget Sound and the Cascades. Matt is originally from St. Charles, MO and Dawn is from Maryland, Virginia and Florida and lots of places in between. We have two children who love to explore the outdoor playground at the doorsteps of the cabin.

Dawn Browne-Crisler purchased this cabin in 2009

Why Dawn Browne-Crisler chose Skykomish

Dawn purchased the land in 1996 after falling in love with the area on a camping trip while visiting Washington State. After years of planning we finally built in 2009 and have many happy times in this magical area with friends and family.

What makes this cabin unique

You will love the peace and tranquility of the cabin setting. The decks have panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and wooded acres. The stars are especially bright in this area with no light pollution. Short or long walks abound right from the doorsteps of the cabin to nearby Money Creek, Miller River, and the Skykomish River. A short drive will take you to dozens of trailheads and gateways to the Alpine Lake Wilderness and Wild Sky Wilderness Areas. Stevens Pass Ski area is just 15 minutes up the road and many snowshoeing trails nearby.

Nice getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay. It was a mountain cabin feel and many in our group just enjoyed the house. It was very pet friendly. There were some minor issues with wear and tear and deep cleaning, but all in all a nice vacation home.

Thank you for the stay.

Dawn’s cabin is BEAUTIFUL and had everything our group needed - full kitchen, WiFi, TVs, towels, firewood, hot tub, etc. the location is nice and secluded and a short walk to the river. Would definitely stay here again, summer or winter!

Way more than described

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in many VRBO homes and most exaggerate their amenities. Not the case with Crisler Cabin. It was way more than advertised. First of all, “cabin” does not do it justice as the house is 3 stories of modern, beautiful finishes, in a very private setting, with incredible views and trails nearby. The internet was not the greatest, but we were there to unplug. Thank you!

Perfect spot!

  • 5 of 5

Crisler is the perfect cabin for hikers! Great location...lots of nearby hikes. Although we were a group of adults, the cabin looked very kid friendly. Clean and well stocked. Clear directions and instructions. It’s a great value and we’d stay there again.

Absolutely loved my stay at this cabin!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is beautiful, still very new feeling to it, and is in a perfect location, quiet, surrounded by forest, views of the mountains, and yet it is still within walking distance of the river. The cabin has one of the best locations in all of Skykomish!

A hidden jewel in westside of Cascades. Exceptional value. Restful Relaxing -- Best found.

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful crafted timber home with log exterior. Situated in a forest of alder trees, has peek-a-view view of the spectacular mountains of the Skykomish Valley. We were grandparents, our son, his wife and our eighteen-month old granddaughter. The 'hidden kid playroom' off a loft bedroom was a delight for her. House and all the room appointments are wonderful. Great sleeps by all. Kitchen equipped with everything needed for cooking. The Lower level projector screen was great with Netflix movies. Also, the hot tub was a relaxing end to our days. Wonderful place to find quiet and solitude!

Stevens Pass is just East on Highway 2 and Leavenworth forty minutes. Area has great history of early railroad construction 1890-1930's over and eventually through Steven's Pass, i.e. at grade trails, abandoned tunnels, etc. Yes, we will return!
