My family spent the week at this house. We had a great time. Clean and spacious. 100 ft walk to the ocean. Even gave us a few T-shirts with the name of house to have. Highly recommend.

So comfortable and welcoming, having a fenced in back yard and other accommodations for the dogs made it feel like home, except with an ocean view! We loved our stay.

This was a great property last time we were there. Not this trip. I believe it was sold and we thought it would be better since it seemed to be remodeled and a new bedroom added We arrived and unpacked. Putting away kitchen necessities and the silverware drawers were covered in rat feces. Not sure why a cleaning service would leave the property and not notify someone. We had to put everything in the dishwasher but still didn’t want to use anything. We used plastic ware and paper plates when dealing with food. Ate out most of the time and I take a lot of my pots and cookware because of past experiences of not having updated cookware. Bedrooms were clean but the kitchen was unacceptable. Not sure if the owner is aware. The screen door on porch was torn so bugs could come in. You had to unscrew light bulb in the dining room in order to have light in new bedroom so clueless as to who wired the renovation. Very disappointed to say the least. For the price we paid it was ridiculous. Great location and was a wonderful house but it is really run down and the cleaning service is ridiculous. Floors were sticky and not clean. We did have to clean and not sure why the rodent problem has not been dealt with. Serious maintenance problems. The windows in dining room were not cleaned and we couldn’t see out of them. Such a shame with the view it has. We finally wiped the outside on our 3rd day there and could see. Seriously have never had this kind of problem before now.

Sand by Me is an old-school beach house that benefits from an excellent location and solid overall comfort. It's very dog friendly which was a big selling point for us, and we loved the ocean view from the screen porch, and it offers the best beach access you could have other than being beach-front.On the down-side this is an older home that has some quirks and could use a round of investment in maintenance and upgrades, but can't beat the price for this location, space and dog friendliness.The host was great.
