The outdoor patios include several outdoor rooms and invite you to enjoy dinner al fresco anytime of year. The kitchen is built for a chef. This is a home for the discerning renter. We have stayed at this home a number of times and have enjoyed every moment. The kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed a festive Thanksgiving celebration - with fresh herbs from the garden. The Mesa location provides great beach access as well as local shops and restaurants. One of the standout amenities is the beautiful and private yard, hot tub and outdoor shower! All in all, a very special home.

Staying in Santa Barbara here at Kathryn’s was probably our best stay by far. It was a beautiful home with a wonderful kitchen , a beautiful backyard and parks all around for our dog to hike with, not to mention the beach just a half a block down. Great house with high hedges all around it for privacy. It's conveniently located near Santa Barbara's downtown area. Excellent kitchen with high end appliances. The TV's were equipped with both Amazon Fire Stick and cable. Sonos speakers provided a variety of great music. We enjoyed our stay!

Blissful Stay in Santa Barbara

This is a beautiful property with a great location close to the beach and fantastic restaurants. The kitchen is fantastic for anyone who enjoys cooking and the backyard is a great place to chill with a glass of wine. A fantastic place to stay in Santa Barbara.

Great stay in West Mesa

Super home, beautifully designed and furnished. The backyard is a wonderful retreat and includes a hot tub, and outdoor shower. The location couldn’t be better: close to both the Mesa Lane steps and the Douglas Preserve, and 10 - 15 minutes to downtown, Montecito and Ellwood. Already looking forward to our next stay!

I’ve enjoyed the mesa for years. Kathryn’s home is relaxed and peaceful. Birds chirping in the morning and an easy stroll in the evening to the Douglas Family Preserve. The home is well stocked and well kept. Master bed is very comfortable. Hot tub is a huge plus! I’m excited for my next visit.

Our host offered A+ service with kindness. The kitchen is more than well stocked with all high end items. The setting is comfortable and relaxing, very well maintained. Kathryn was available to take care of any issue should something come up. Highly recommend, will stay again for that short walk to the ocean!

Wonderful home & great location

This was our second stay here. It truly felt like home with all the fine touches including designer bedding, linens, toiletries and fully stocked kitchen. The backyard was an oasis with spa, water feature, fruit trees, and lush landscaping. A gardener, spa serviceman, and house cleaner assures everything is kept up during our stay. The host was super responsive and went over and above to make sure our stay was just right. We can't wait until we go back again!

Great house and location, easy access to the beach off Mesa steps and a quick drive or walk to Arroyo beach. Nice office to work from, great art-- Not a big deal but be helpful if.... Living room TV had the option to activate Apps for a movie, couch is real low to the ground - truly though it is a great house in a lovely location.

Kathy could not have been more helpful during We loved our stay at this property in early March. Sadly we had to cut our visit short due to the coronavirus and she was most understanding. She was available for questions whenever we needed her. We hope to return to this property which was perfect for us.

Loved our stay

The home is a beautiful oasis, the grounds are private which enables you to have the doors open and enjoy the fresh air with a ton of privacy. The location is second to none if you have a dog, the beach access as well as Douglas park make walks a joy. The home is beautiful and perfect for remote work or just relaxing. We were there during some pretty bad weather but it didn't matter because the house was very comfortable when we couldn't get out. I absolutely loved this house and location. Kathy was also very responsive to any questions or concerns we had.

A Gem

Thank you Kathryn. You have created a beautiful home. Tasteful furnishings and layout. The outdoor vinyettes were wonderful depending on if you wanted sun, shade or both! The kitchen is top of the line. The location is ideal to walk to the Mesa steps, Douglas Preserve or the business district for groceries, coffee shops and restaurants. I had a wonderful month.

Great house and fantastic location!

Had a two week stay and the home was perfect. The home was quiet, clean, and had updated decor. The outside area was beautiful and relaxing with the sounds of the water fountain. The house had great spaces to allow me to work remotely in the office or find a quiet space to read. The neighborhood is very friendly and the location was exceptional. Just a couple blocks away from the Douglas Preserve with soaring views of the coast, the intoxicating smell of eucalyptus, and an off leash dog park for us dog lovers. The home is less than a block from the Mesa Steps to the beach and close to grocery stores, drug stores, and both chain and local restaurants. Thank you. Kathrine, for sharing your lovely home.

Beautiful Home

The house was perfect for a longer stay in Santa Barbara. Great location in quiet neighborhood right by the stairs down to the beach. Very long walks on the beach possible at low tide. The 243 steps will keep you in shape! The Wi-Fi is great and two desks for a couple working from home. The A/C was very handy on the few warm days. The house is a great design. We enjoyed all the outdoor living space as well. We would love to stay here again!

Great Property & Location

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our month-long stay at Katherine’s West Mesa home. The home was very well designed and well appointed. All of the interior space was maximized; and, double doors across the front and back of the house allowed us to enjoy true indoor-outdoor living. The ceilings were tall and furnishings were fashionable and comfortable. Katherine has truly maximized the design of her home. The house was outfitted with all of the appliances, dishes, cooking utensils, soap, paper towels, and essentials that a traveler could need. The privacy fences allowed us to enjoy both the front and back yard - the fountains, the fire pit, the dining areas and lounging areas. In addition to the excellent lay out, decor and comfort of the house, the location was wonderful. It was mere steps from the access to Mesa Lane Beach. Heading toward downtown from the house, a pedestrian walkway connected with Shoreline Drive and the pedestrian walkway through Shoreline Park and past Stearn’s Wharf. Walking north there were numerous walking paths through the Douglas Family Preserve, the Arroyo Open Space and Park and through and around Elings Park. It was a perfect location for walking or jogging exercise opportunities. We were well satisfied with our stay in Katherine’s home and look forward to returning to enjoy the home, location and beautiful surroundings.

Awesome Place

This house was the perfect place for our 2 month post surgery stay in Santa Barbara. Comfortable, peaceful, relaxing. 2 spacious en-suite bedrooms and a wonderful outdoor shower. Love the open floor plan. Opening the doors every morning and being able to sit outside no matter the weather or time of day, really made the place special. It is so close to everything. Walking distance to the Mesa steps and the beach, Douglas Preserve, markets, restaurants, and pharmacies. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Love this place

We've stayed here twice and both times have been perfect. The house is great, but the outdoor space is our favorite. A very private beautiful yard with a spa, outdoor shower and firepit. We barely use our car here as it is an easy walk to the beach, Elings dog park, the grocery store and a few great resturants. This place is awesome!

Why they chose this property

I love the Mesa. I had zoned in on this area and kept searching until I found the perfect spot. It is close to all the fun in Santa Barbara, the harbor, funk zone and down town. Yet it has the most wonderful beach that feels like it's you and nature . It is quiet and has so much open space just a short walk away. You can ride bikes to a gourmet market and restaurants. It is a hidden gem in Santa Barbara.

What makes this property unique

The most beautiful sunsets and ocean breezes.
The house flows from indoors to outdoors with complete privacy.
