1 large bedroom, 1 bathroom, sleeps 4
You'll feel right at home in this uniquely decorated and fun large one-bedroom condo. There's no 'standard-issue' furniture or decor in this vintage ski home! Complete with hickory table and chairs and original metal signs from Copper's ski trails, this condo will take the nostalgic Copper fan back in time. For those of you who remember Copper in the 70's, you'll love studying the old aerial photograph of Copper Mountain and the village.
But, please note that if you're looking for luxury or premium accommodations, Summit House is not the condo for you. The building was built in 1973 and has not changed much since. But, if you're looking for a convenient and roomy home for your fully-charged ski vacation, you'll love this unit. Most of our guests love the condo and its location - we have many repeat customers. But those of you who are happiest in upscale, luxury accommodations, then please check out the Cirque or the Cache!
Summit House lodge is located next to Copper Mountain’s lively Center Village and will be the perfect affordable home base for your ski vacation, without the ski-in, ski-out prices! Although you CAN ski-in to the building from the catwalk if it's a great snow year. Come ooooooonnnnnnn Ullr!
This is a one-bedroom, one-bathroom unit, and sleeps 4 very comfortably because it’s a generous 780 square feet. That’s about 200 more square feet than most other one-bedrooms at Copper. The roomy master bedroom has two queen beds and plenty of drawers and closet space for your gear. And, you'll enjoy the bedroom's seating area in front of the huge picture window with a breathtaking view of the famous Sky Chutes.
Unlike most standard condo living rooms, this ski condo has plenty of comfortable seating. You will sprawl out on the large wraparound couch and relax to watch your favorite TV show or movie. There are also two barstools at the kitchen bar, or as we call it - the 'chopping block'. (Is anyone else obsessed with the show, 'Chopped', or is it just us)?
If you normally stay in hotel rooms, you'll realize how much money you can save by stopping at Safeway or Walmart for groceries and cooking and preparing your ski-day snacks in your condo. You'll love the fully equipped kitchen with pots, pans, toaster, blender, and bakeware as well as dishware, glassware and utensils. We'll provide the sugar, salt, pepper and coffee filters and sometimes other random items left from previous guests.
The full bathroom offers a double sink vanity for convenience and tub with shower. And as an added bonus, just next door to this condo there is a sauna and shower that you're free to use if you have someone in your party that hogs the shower time. We’re generous with our paper and soap supplies, so you won't have to make a run to the store to stock up for several days, if at all.
While a guest in this Summit House 'ski cabin' you'll also enjoy:
*Killer view of the Sky Chutes in the Ten Mile Range through new picture windows and from the balcony
*Free Wi-Fi internet access
*Your favorite programs on flat screen TVs in the bedroom and living room
*A convenient elevator or stairway to the third floor
*Coin-operated laundry on the second and fourth floors
*Free assigned covered parking for one car and a surface lot for extra parking
*Your own ski locker in the lobby
*A sauna and shower next to this condo and on the fifth floor.
Summit House is just a few minutes from the lifts in the village center, but it’s set back a bit, so it’s away from the noise and bustle of the main village. You can actually walk to the catwalk in one minute and ski down to the Gem lift and take it up, and then ski over to the Super Bee lift. You'll see the logistics in our map, which is the last photo in the group of photos above. Or, you can walk past the parking ramp to the American Eagle lift in 3 minutes.
Although you don't need to drive to get to the lifts, Summit House lodge isn’t far from stops for Copper Village Shuttle. Look for the signs and wait a few minutes with your skis, and you’ll hop on the heated shuttle for free rides to lifts all over Copper Mountain. There is also an on-call shuttle service, the Copper Coach, that will take you door-to-door anywhere in Copper Mountain Resort.
And don't forget the Summit Stage, the county's free bus . This shuttle takes you off Copper Mountain to the Summit County mountain towns of Frisco, Dillon, Silverthorne, Keystone, and Breckenridge. You can hop off the Summit Stage and ski at Breckenridge, and Keystone. Or you can shop in small or large super-stores in Frisco, Dillon, or Silverthorne. You could spend hours or a few minutes finding anything you want in hundreds of quaint shops in Frisco. When you’re ready to get back to Copper, just look for Summit Stage signs and hop on. Totally free. Once you take the free Summit Stage shuttle to Summit County mountain towns, you just might wonder why anyone would bother to drive.

Best condo I've stayed at in Copper to date.
The owner gave me great instructions and there are plenty of spaces to park if people come up to ski with you during the day. The condo had everything you would want and easy access to Central Village places to eat and things to do.
Overall great, cozy, central
Really enjoyed our time here, easy to walk to lift, came equipped with coffee, shampoo, conditioner, body wash in case you forget yours. Great mountain view and balcony, very comfortable beds and couch! Would love to stay here again.
Home away from home
This condo was so comfortable, roomy and well laid out. Our family of 4 stayed here over March 2017 and were so happy with our choice!
The layout of the condo is superb--big comfy couch, TV with cable in living room and bedroom, dining table with a beautiful view (especially when it snows), small balcony with 2 chairs, several benches for sitting on to put on/take off ski gear inside, cubby to hang coats and store other items right inside the door, full kitchen with 2 bar stools/microwave/dishwasher, big bedroom with 2 queen beds/dresser/closet/bedside table/couch with end tables/another great view/luggage benches, double sinks made it easier to get ready in the morning, fireplace with a fire at the flick of a switch, ski storage locker downstairs, etc. It really has everything you need to relax and enjoy skiing! Check with the owner before you shop because they provided shampoo/soap/dishwashing detergent/hand soap and some other goods that were nice not to have to purchase. There is coin laundry available on 2 floors so you can do a load of laundry and pack less!
Grab a couple of sleds while you get your groceries at Safeway in Frisco. You can walk to the Green Acres slope (view from kitchen window) after the lifts are closed and do some sledding! They post signs that it isn't allowed, but the rule seems to largely be ignored.
The condo includes 1 covered parking space...so nice. You will have a short walk to the shuttle stop (which isn't bad but does feel long when you are carrying skis lol) or if you are an Intermediate skier you could walk a little farther into Center Village to get on the American Flyer/American Eagle lifts. Walking to either Center Village or East Village are very easy in your regular snow boots/shoes after a hard day of skiing. The condo was not ski in/ski out for us since we were beginners and spent most of our time in West Village but it might work our for someone else.
Really loved this place. It was well thought out and super comfortable and were were so happy we stayed here!
Cozy, clean and convenient condo
Walk to slopes, covered parking, comfy beds and well equipped condo with throwback ski decor. Would rent again!
Finally a condo we could afford on the mountain!!! We were so happy to find this property for the great price. We've always had to stay in a hotel in Frisco to be able afford everything and staying in this condo for the great price, and cookng our meals instead of eating out was cheaper than staying 10 miles away. And we were in the Center Village!!!!
Can't say enough about what we got for our money. The condo was a huge one-bedroom, cute as can be, exceptionally clean and the kitchen was fully stocked with all we needed to cook every meal in. Loved the vintage furniture and wall decor. Great fireplace. And the management was the best, helpful and friendly, always available. Helped us with a smile when we locked ourselves out. Hope it's available for our trip next year!
Great decoration & couch; kitchen equipped well, but needs more towels & linens and better temp cont
The decoration & furniture especially couch were excellent! Also had two nice TVs. The kitchen was well equipped. Condo was convenient to center village ski lift, good parking and good storage for skis. The temperature in the condo was difficult to regulate ( too hot or too cold)- the bedroom would be cold while family room hot. We were only given 4 towels for 4 people for 4 night stay and there is no washer/dryer in condo so we found one towel each for 4 days unacceptable. Also there were extra pillows but no pillowcases and pillows looked yuk without a case!
*Copper Free Ride: 970 556-8687** In addition to the existing free Copper shuttle busses, the Copper Free Ride provides door-to-door, on-demand, transportation for skiers and riders, and is an open-air electric cart, holding 6 passengers.
