Perfect Mountain House!

  • 5 of 5

This house is exactly what we were looking for. The location is great, the kitchen is amazing and it has a great yard with front and back porches. We will definitely be staying here again next time we are in Crested Butte. Such a cute town! Thank you Janet!

Was perfect!!

  • 5 of 5

The property was awesome - perfect in-town location. Beautiful home - so charming. Updated Victorian with fabulous appointments. My favorite place was the kitchen. Perfect for all of us to gather for breakfast and plan our day. We even took the opportunity to cook dinner a number of evenings - unusual for us as we are the type that likes to experience dinning out. But the kitchen was so fun!!! The living area was just right for our group. Plenty of comfortable seating (there were 5 of us) and a nice large TV - great for viewing the Labor Day weekend college football games - Go CU Buffs and Texas Longhorns!! Bathrooms were nicely done - showers were fantastic!!!

A little street noise on Friday and Saturday nights in the front bedroom, but we turned on a fan and that seemed to do the trick.

We will definitely come back to Crested Butte and stay at The Chestnut House.

Great location. Right in the heart of CB. Walking distance to stores, restaurants and park. The city provides a bus to the mountain that runs every 20 minutes from the four way stop that is very close to the home. The house has a wonderful kitchen and space to be comfortable. Love this home!

Best VRBO ever

  • 5 of 5

Our family of avid skiers visited Crested Butte for the first time this year and loved it. Great location right in the heart of town. House was perfect for the 6 of us...historical yet modern. Everything we needed including comfy linens and basics in the kitchen. We used the hot tub every day. Owner responsive with any questions. Even had a live decorated Christmas tree in the living room. This house looks great in the photos...even better in person. Welcomed the New Year at the Nordic Center Yurt fun. Thanks for a memorable Christmas 2015.

Beautiful House - Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

Our extended family from Texas and New York celebrated my mother-in-law's return visit to her hometown of Crested Butte. If you want to stay in town, this house beats them all. It's right on Elk St, within walking distance of all the restaurants and bars. Inside, the kitchen / dining room is very spacious and provides a great place for a group gathering. The renovation preserves a lot of the historical charm of the house yet adds the modern conveniences of a Viking gas stove and even a wine fridge. The living room is equally spacious and perfect for entertaining. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs (the bedroom facing Elk St has a half bath - very helpful) and one bedroom downstairs. The bathrooms have been renovated to the highest standards with sizeable walk-in showers and multiple shower heads. The finish-out in this place was excellent.

The owners are extremely thoughtful. The Chestnut House comes well-stocked with the highest quality soaps and shampoos from L'Occitane, fresh flowers decorated the house when we arrived, and there was a binder of helpful information for our stay. Wi-fi available throughout the house, although the router is downstairs near the backyard so reception in the most remote upstairs bedroom can be spotty.

Overall we had a great one week stay in CB at the Chestnut House. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to be centrally located in town.
