2 Bed + office,1 Bath, Prime Silverlake/ Echo Park Vintage House
Built in 1908, this vintage house is a very special furnished 2 bedroom, plus den/office. 1 bath, located in Silverlake/ Echo Park.
Huge fenced in grass yard, that runs along one side of the house. Park car next to front porch behind rolling fence. There are many unique features such as custom French mahogany doors through out. Living room and bedrooms have doors to a very private mahogany side deck (8 feet x 40 feet) which surrounds 80 year old yucca trees, which has been a wonderful place to entertain year round...a sweet Shangri-La to enjoy breakfast or just relax. Dining room is bright with French windows, and wainscoting, with dining table for six people. Retro-kitchen is fully loaded/ stocked kitchen which has vintage stove, dishwasher, butcher block. Mud room off kitchen has washer, dryer, and fridge with back door entrance. The front porch has a nice view of Palm lined street....that's a great place to have a cup-of-joe! The bedrooms each have ceiling fans and French doors, most days there is a nice breeze that flows through. A queen bed in each room that also enjoy side deck. Wood flooring throughout, except for office/ den which has a dark carpet. It is currently being used as an office/ lunge. I will include pictures with a cot included. Vintage bathroom is located between both bedrooms includes bath/ shower combo.
This house may not be suitable for toddlers, babies are okay but those just learning to walk may have a difficult time with porch steps and yard that is not level with the house ( for viewing). We welcome children but want to be clear about the steps or safety reasons.
One of the best things about the house is that you really feel like you’ve left the city, even though you are walking distance to great food/cafes/yoga, and all the eclectic options surrounding the neighborhood, a 15-20 minute walk to the Silverlake Reservoir or to Echo Park Lake for a paddle boat ride. No need to get in a car to take an early morning yoga class at Urth or Bar Method( 5 min), and then stroll to Silverlake Juice or Moon Juice afterwards. Want to have a drink without worrying about driving, you can hit or Los Globos, Hungry Crow in Silverlake or head towards Echo Park ( 12 minute walk) and check out Wine For The People, The Echo, Elf Vegan Cafe for nighttime fun. The Metro bus stop is a few minutes to Sunset Blvd. you can take bus east for Metro Station ( direct) or take it west and end up on Pacific Coast Highway,at the beach.
This house holds many beautiful memories for our family, we hated moving but our family of six has outgrown it for good.

About Tnah Di Donato
Mario has been an actor here in Hollywood for nearly 25 years, and I have been in the entertainment industry for most of my life. We are a very renaissance type family raising three thundering teens and one 20 year old Singer Song writer with Columbia Records. Mario and I collaborate on a few ventures together which include Bella Faccia Foto ( bellafacciafoto.com), a socially responsible coffee roasting company called Belli Fratelli ( Good Brother's In Italian) Coffee Roasters (bellifratelliroasters.com), which we hope to grow and pass down to our sons. Tnah traded her title as Hollywood Agent for Postpartum Mother Roasting + ceremonialist, holding space in ceremony/ woman's retreats and serving mothers here in Los Angeles with The Sacred Living Movement ( asacredpassage.com). We recently sold our cafe Steampunk Coffee Bar and Kitchen , which was known for the best waffle and fried chicken in the San Fernando Valley, but still continue to work with Vito's Pizza ( www.vitopizza.com) located in West Hollywood, Santa Monica and soon to open in Downtown Los Angeles. This pizzeria was opened by us but is our bother Vito's joint, and truly one of the best pizza's in Los Angeles. We absolutely put all our love into each venture we believe in and hope that our reviews speak to the level of care and attention we provide to our guests while staying at Vintage Reservoir.

Why Tnah Di Donato chose Silver Lake
This home holds our heart, it was the first home we manifested in our early 30's. We had a vision of what we wanted for our family and it was exactly what we were looking for! We purchased this home during a very busy market, and managed to be the chosen family out of 15 other offers. We birthed three of our sons in a water pool in the living room. We made so many little character improvements which give the home so much charm. It was very hard to leave, but with four sons and one bathroom we would have either had to do some more major remodeling and it still would not have addressed the right schools for our boys which were not available in our community at the time we needed. We had the house occupied by four tenants after we left, each one of those four couples either got married or pregnant while staying in our home, so it speaks to the love that fills this sweet house. A week was spent in the house as I was getting it ready for listing, so I knew first hand what was needed to make it feel like a home and not a vacation rental. Everything was really thought through in every way unlike many of vacation rentals I have stayed in! Soft cotton bedding, every cooking utensil you could think of to make yummy meals, much consideration went into decor. Silverlake is a very diverse community! While the hipsters have infiltrated these lands, there is still a big mix of the original Los Angelino population which include Philipinos and Mexicans, this is what adds the color to our community! Our property itself is like a Shangri-La within the urban city. The house is perched up off the ground and enclosed for privacy, but within walking distance to Sunset Blvd. where you can walk in either direction to find an array of cool food joints and boutiques.
What makes this House unique
When describing this home I like to share that this is a house of pure love and creativity. We really seem to attract a load of iincredibly talented ndustry peeps, which have included Broadway performers coming through to work at Pantages + Dorothy Chandler, (both within close proximity to the house.) Actors, writers, singer - song writers, who want the peace of our home, safety and privacy while being in the pulse of town.

An EXCELLENT home, lovingly maintained!!!
Tnah and Mario are two of the most loving, generous, creative people you could ever hope to meet. They have put all of themselves into this immaculately maintained gem of a home which we had the fortune of living in for the past 5 months.
Relocating for that amount of time was made easy by the fact that the home was stocked with absolutely everything we needed to live comfortably, way beyond the requirements of a typical rental. And if there was anything that needed attention, Mario and Tnah tended to it immediately.
The home was perfectly suited to the big Thanksgiving and Xmas dinners we hosted for family and friends. And when the holidays were over, the house's different indoor and outdoor spaces allowed my husband and I to find private spaces while working under the same roof.
Our oversized dog loved the freedom the gated garden afforded him and is missing all his buds at the dog park which was a short walk away.
Silverlake is a hipsters paradise with lovely shops, cafes and tasty restaurants. But this home was so lovely, staying home was often our preferred option.
We are still dreaming of the scrumptious basket of treats Tnah made and had waiting for us on our arrival...not to mention their own freshly roasted coffee!
We would recommend this home to anyone we loved!

This is a very peaceful, charming Hollywood Bungalow in the great neighborhood of Silverlake. There is a privacy fence that surrounds the entire property; you can roll back the gate to a private little oasis, that is a 5-10 min drive to Downtown.
The house has everything you will need; all details have been covered. It is a very comfortable set-up. You can open up all doors and windows for fresh air and lots of natural light; the home is lovely.
The outdoor space was our favorite. There is private deck along one side of the house that is nestled under palm trees. The front porch is comfortable and relaxing. The yard is large, with lots of grass for dogs to play in. It includes beautiful date palm trees, rosemary bushes and lots of beautiful, native plants. The off-street, private parking was a highlight as well.
The neighborhood offers everything you will need. It felt safe and fairly quiet (the one downside would be the neighbors across the street seemed to always have a noisy project going during the day, from yard work, construction to fixing cars. It was hard to ignore them sometimes, but clearly they didn't ruin my time at all). There are two grocery stores, many restaurants, drug stores, shops etc... that are all within a few minutes drive, and some withing walking distance.
If you are working in downtown LA, and need a place to stay, this is it! It's a super easy commute, all back roads...no highway. If you are just planning a trip to LA for fun, this house is a fantastic place to stay. I would book this house again.
Great location! Access to DTLA, all the new creative restaurants popping-up on Sunset/Silver Lake,.
Vintage house has it all, including a yard for your pet; any convenience is here, and morning coffee on The Porch is perfect. In the midst of it all, yet secluded. Host was perfect, and their family-produced coffee beans (sold online me) are top-notch.
Wonderful, private, and warm place to stay!
My two teenaged sons and I needed a place to stay while visiting a friend in Silver Lake. I travel regularly with my kids, and this home met all of our requirements and more. I had known before we arrived the house offered privacy, was in a safe neighborhood, provided outdoor areas, and is in a convenient location. The owner's policies are very reasonable and fair. Before our arrival, communication and instructions were very thoughtful and precise. She even asked if we needed lights on in case of an evening arrival and what roast of coffee I prefer. As a Mom traveling alone with kids, that is a huge plus, as knowing details provides peace of mind. Coffee makes it manageable!
Upon arrival, we found the instructions very clear and it was easy to enter the home. Once inside, it was SPOTLESS. We have experienced issues in this department in the past, so that was an enormous relief. The property is very private allowing us to enjoy a lovely breeze while enjoying the outdoor living areas and keep the windows open. I loved that we felt comfortable doing so in the heart of the city! It was effortless for us to settle in with ample closet space, every kitchen amenity we needed was easy to find, and delicious coffee!
The home is both charming and inviting. We loved the vintage vibe and appreciated all the modern conveniences. It is very apparent the owner put thought into being an excellent host. My kids and I settled in with ease which is important to me when we are exploring a different city.
With the local information provided, I was able to order any groceries we needed, and they arrived within 30 min. Any information we needed was easy to access.Any questions I asked the owner answered politely and promptly.
We left extremely early for our flight and were very concerned we didn't tidy up perfectly for the property owner or left something undone.... that is proof positive that we loved our stay!
We know we will return to the area and I certainly hope this home is available to rent for our next trip to LA!
Just beautiful house, wonderful hosts
I wish I had time to write the glowing review this property deserves, suffice it to say you should stay here! Tnah and Mario were wonderful. Hope we can come back soon!
I'd Rent It Again
Our family had a wonderful stay at this comfortable, well stocked, home. There was plenty of sleeping space for when our daughters came to visit. The retro-look kitchen was probably the best stocked kitchen of any vacation rental I have stayed in. Plates, cups, utensils, pots, pans, basic spices, and even a fresh bag of coffee beans. We did cook and found ourselves in need of nothing we could not find. The bathroom was equally well supplied.
Outside was a deck that runs the whole length of the house, accessible from either bedroom or the living room. It was a great place for morning coffee or a nightcap.
Being a person who is not accustomed to hunting for street parking, the gated driveway was probably the feature I appreciated most.
One thing I hope for when I rent a VRBO is an owner that is responsive to questions or issues before and during the stay. Tnah did a great job in this regard.
The only negative we experienced was that one night a neighboring dog was barking while we were sleeping. To be fair, I did not inform the owner about this, perhaps she could have done something about it, I don't know. Anyway, the following night all was well.
If I return to this area and need a rental I will definitely attempt to rent this house again.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! Running retreats and booking vacation rentals I have found myself having to almost AWAYS have to run out for more sheets, pots and utensils for cooking. I vowed to make sure I had everything available for my guests so they do not have the same experience as I often have. I even stayed there a week to manage all the items I would need to make it feel like home away from home, so I am very appreciative you took notice.
You left the home so clean, thank you for treating our home with such care, you are always welcome back. There is a Spanish saying, Mi Casa Es Tu Casa, we hope to host you again!
Fantastic location! A short stroll to El Cafecito Organico and only a few blocks from a popular pocket of hot spots like Pho cafe, Gobi Mongolian BBQ, Moon Juice, Thirsty Crow, Urth Yoga, Bar Method, Dusty's, Lark Cake Shop and The Food Lab where they sell the BEST ice cream sandwiches! No need for guilt after that refreshing treat, the Silver Lake Reservoir and Echo Park is only a mile away! Talk about convenience! If you want to go out at night and not have to get in the car walk to The Echo, Mohawk Bend to the east, Los Globas night club and Silverlake Lounge, Stella to the west... All walking distance!
