  • Nice place to stay

"We enjoyed our stay at the Grisham condo in the "low-lander" section of Avalon. If you can do stairs, this is the place to stay. On the ground level is the living room and a bath with shower. Up a flight of stairs is the 2nd bedroom with a bath without a shower and the kitchen. Up a flight of stairs is the lovely master bedroom and bath suite. It has double sinks and a roomy shower (jacuzzi tub cannot be used during the drought). The home has been recently renovated and has hard wood floors, tile and nice new furniture. We ate 2 breakfasts and 1 dinner here. The owner supplies paper goods, since the dishwasher is also not allowed to be used during the drought. The toilet in the master bath cycles on and off constantly, but if you close the door, it's not too annoying. It is only a short walk from "town." It is on a busy corner with lots of golf carts putt-putting by. We saw deer from our windows, as they come down for water. The house does not have AC, but has lots of fans. We opened the doors & windows for fresh cool air, which was lovely!"

  • Enjoyable stay on a quiet pedestrian only street

"We enjoyed our stay in early August 2016. We love the quiet pedestrian only street. Very clean and well appointed unit. It is upstairs, which is good, but also can get very warm in the late afternoons. We kept all of the windows open, and there were two fans in the unit that we used at all times to keep the air flowing. The kitchen was very well stocked. Overall, it was a very nice unit, and we would definitely return."

  • Perfect!

"Nanette was awesome. The pictures here are exactly what you get. Check-in was simple. The place was spotless. But the location!... perfect!. Right on the strand. Walking distance to the ChartHouse if you want a fancy meal, and even closer to Nick's deli, which my kids went to daily. Watch the junior lifeguards, volleyball players, paddleboarders and surfers from the roof or balcony. We walked to a stand up paddle board rental place and even rode bikes to Venice Beach. I only needed to text Nanette once with a question and she responded instantly. Talking to her on the phone, I felt like I have known her forever, a real sweetheart. Thanks again for a great vacation."

  • October Getaway

"This is a very lovely property in an excellent complex. We love visiting Catalina and this was our 1st time at Hamilton Cove. Previously, we have stayed at The Inn on Mt. Ada and in a hotel on the island. Although Mt. Ada is wonderful, for a longer stay, we will be here. The view is fabulous (one night I sat and watched a lightning storm that stretched from Long Beach to San Clemente) and the unit is clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The golf cart is one of the better ones that we have had, the bed was comfortable and we did sleep with the doors open and the screen doors locked with no anxiety. Although we enjoy the bustle of Avalon, it was very nice to head back to the quiet and panoramic beauty of Hamilton Cove each day. People have commented on the stairs...we actually enjoyed the "challenge" as well as the exercise! Everyone we met was very friendly and we had fun visiting with our "Terrace Neighbors" while we were grilling dinner and relaxing in the evening. The owner was very helpful and accommodating and we very much appreciated her quick response to our questions!"
