A Memory that Lasts

When a friend invited me to a retreat at Dune Lakes, I was excited just to have a good time with the boys. The experience turned out to be much more than that. Roaming the calm, warm sands of the dunes and admiring the uniquely diverse ecosystem—all just a few steps from the comfort of the cozy cabins—made for an unforgettable getaway. I look forward to returning soon!

The property was out of a story book.Linens and appliances were high quality, location to get Pismo Beach was convenient and views were simply incredible. Our group rented all cottages on property and had such a memorable time. Ingrid was extremely responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. Would come again!

Most wonderful weekend retreat

This property was absolutely PERFECT for my groups weekend retreat. We are a group of kitesurfers who live across California, and we decided to reunite in Pismo to enjoy some lovely ocean kiting. No other place could have hosted us as beautifully as the dune lakes cottages did. The beauty and ample room for us to gather and celebrate our beautiful coast was unmatched! And the cottages themselves were so charming and homey. We would love to make this an annual retreat for us!

The Perfect Paradise 🌿🏞️

This place truly felt like a paradise. It was the perfect place to reconnect with nature and recharge in between busy phases of life. Waking up to the beautiful natural light every morning was incredibly healing. The scenery was breathtaking! The lush grass, stunning lakes, and vast dunes made every walk feel special. It’s such a unique experience that I don’t think you can find just anywhere, and I genuinely think everyone should experience a place like this at least once in their lifetime. We also loved exploring the surrounding neighborhood. The local grocery stores and fruit stands were amazing as well and I had the best strawberries I’ve ever tasted! Everything felt peaceful, beautiful, and authentic. 100% willing to revisit!!! 💯🥇

Very delightful and relaxing

We were there for a family gathering over July 4th weekend, and had a great time. The accommodations are great, with enough privacy and sleeping space to house everyone in our group. There is enough room outside as well, where we played catch, bbq'd, and ate overlooking the cliffs. It is large, private, and very safe. It is a beautiful property with great views. Situated on a bluff, it overlooks lakes and native California flora, right out to the dunes off the Pacific Ocean. It is a very private property with three cottages, all very well-appointed and comfortable. The large lawn has a fire pit with Adirondack chairs circling it, where the great views and nature can also be enjoyed. There is a bocce ball court overlooking a cliff as well. If you like to hike, there are dirt roads throughout the property, and you can walk to the dunes (and climb them). It is located near the quaint towns of Arroyo Grande and Pismo Beach, with many opportunities for dining and shopping - the local availability of fresh seafood is outstanding. We went to Finn's, a casual seafood restaurant on the beach in Grover's Beach, and had a great meal. Almost anywhere off Highway 1, you can stop at the beautiful beaches and take a long hike along the sand. Pismo Beach also has a wharf and a variety of shops and food. This is a perfect place for group get-togethers or a romantic weekend away. We will always go there when we can. I always feel so relaxed after being there and enjoy it. 5 Stars!

Absolutely Stunning

I've never seen a place quite like this in California. Hidden away and secluded, with beautiful views of lakes and dunes. The grass area is perfect to relax, play, and watch the amazing sunset over the water and sand. The cottages were quaint and a joy to stay in. The hosts were very welcoming and hospitable. My only regret is not staying for longer.

My family had a wonderful time staying at Dune Lakes! The space is beautiful but not pretentious. There was plenty of space to spread out and to come together. The location is ideal—close to everything yet secluded. We would love to come back!
