About this property

LaRue Rendezvous on Beaver Lake

Tucked away from the bustle of Northwest Arkansas lies the quiet, nearly forgotten community known as LaRue. Once home to a modest post office and general store, this historic spot has been thoughtfully reimagined. We've restored the exterior to reflect its original charm, while transforming the interior into a cozy one-bedroom studio featuring a curated gallery of photographs from its vibrant past. Nestled on the serene shores of Beaver Lake, it's a haven for those seeking a peaceful retreat—a place to pause, reflect, and breathe, far from the demands of daily life, children, and pets.
The space is intimate and thoughtfully appointed
— designed to feel both restorative and indulgent.
You'll sleep soundly in a king-size bed, and enjoy the ease of a fully equipped kitchen for preparing quiet meals in. Over 250 books are tucked into the kitchen cabinets, ready to be discovered.
The private bath features a deep soaking tub with its own TV, accompanied by bath salts and bubbles for a truly relaxing soak. A fully stocked medicine cabinet offers everyday essentials-just in case.
A small dining area invites slow mornings and lingering conversations. You'll also find cards, dominoes, puzzles, and games for cozy nights in.
The living space includes a TV for peaceful evenings spent unwinding.
Please note, to preserve the peaceful atmosphere, the space is not suitable for children under 13 or animals.
Step outside onto the private deck, where you'll find a beautiful view of Beaver Lake which is just 40 yards away (depending on water levels). Though the private boat docks are off-limits, you're welcome to enjoy the shoreline and launch a kayak or canoe. For motorized boats, Rocky Branch Park has a public boat ramp and is just 3.5 miles down the road.
A hammock waits for you beneath the trees, perfect for reading or dreaming the afternoon away. A fire pit area for stargazing and fireside conversations sits just between you and the water.
LaRue Rendezvous sits along a country road, surrounded by tranquil beauty and gentle history:
•Martin Cemetery - 0.4 miles
•Historic Rocky Branch Schoolhouse - 1.3 miles
And just beyond, Northwest Arkansas opens up with art, music, trails, and culinary delights-all within a 35 mile radius. Explore the Guidebook to find your next adventure of some of our favorite places, or simply stay in, and let stillness be the destination.
Guest access
You'll have full, private access to the home, with the exception of one locked supply closet.
The coat closet is thoughtfully stocked for your convenience, including:
• LaRue Rendezvous robes
• Hangers
• Iron and ironing board
• Broom and dustpan
• A three-step ladder-handy for reaching books or items tucked into upper kitchen cabinets
• Razorback beach towels
•Extra Blanket
Driveway & Parking
A circular driveway welcomes you at the front of the property. While the south side of the circle must remain open for our neighbors on Collier Lane to pass through, the remaining area offers ample parking. You'll also find additional space available just along the east side of the building.
Lake Access
A footpath between the fence line and the adjacent private drive leads directly to the lake's edge. This is also where we've created a fire pit area/storage area for kayak & supplies, perfect for crisp evenings under the stars and easy launching for kayaks.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

What a gem! The photos of the view from the property, and even those from the interior do not do it justice! The owners were friendly and eager to answer any questions we had during our stay. They have a knack for thinking of what you may have forgotten to pack and then made sure to have it on hand for you! Loved the historical photos and story behind this former post office. Would not ever hesitate to select this property or recommend it to anyone visiting the area! Can’t wait to be back on the porch!!
