Loved the rental!

  • 5 of 5

Just got back from vacationing in Estes Park and stayed at this property. I'm so glad I picked this house to stay in. I was with my husband and another couple and there was plenty of room for all of us. Only 1/4 of a mile from downtown where all of the shopping, restaurants and places to reserve any activitie are. If you don't feel like going out and just want to chill out for an evening, you have your pick of at least 100 DVD's and multiple board games that are supplied in the house for you. All kitchen utensils you could possibly need are there if you choose to cook. Would definitely recommend this place to others. Only con: broken shower door that does not stay closed all the way in the master bedroom so water winds up on the floor. Other than that, great place to stay.

Owner's Response: Hello, thank you so very much for your review. We listen, guest reviews are what keep us on our toes, making everyone's visit the best it can be. Just wanted to let you know that we already have a new shower and tub for that location. It will be replaced very soon. We are happy to hear you enjoyed the house and do hope you return and try another one of our vacation rentals. Look forward to your next stay :-) Thank you! Loretta/GM

What a bargain

  • 4 of 5

The close location near the town of Estes, closeness to Estes Park entrance and lake Estes.

All access to the actual resort amenities. The home location was extremely quiet. The home provided all our basic needs without any problems. As an extra bonus we saw some of Colorado's wildlife up close. Most enjoyable.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful stay! House had everything we needed and MURPHYS Resort workers were so nice and helpful! Perfect location- we walked to town in 5 mins and there were additional free parking spots along the short road to town if needed. Beds were very comfortable and we loved the beautiful kitchen n dining area. Used the laundry room each night after hiking so that was very convenient. 2 elk even visited our driveway and the neighbor's yard one day! The only thing that could be improved was the wifi- went in and out for us. In summary, this house is a great vacation home- very lovely and comfy! Thank you!

Beautiful house: both interiors and location wise

  • 5 of 5

Pros:

- Excellent interior furniture and decor

- Lots of necessary items provided like: fully furnished kitchen with lots of utensils and spices, lots of towels/napkins, toiletries including soaps, shampoos and moisturizers, a number of board games, TV, fireplace etc

- Washer/dryer included inside the house

- Two sedans can be easily parked in the parking area

- Outside seating area and barbecue

- Very convenient location with Estes park downtown close by and a lot of restaurants near-by. More importantly, Rocky Mountain National Park entrance is just 4 or 5 miles away.

- This property is owned by Murphy's resort (situated nearby) and most of the common facilities there (like pool, hot-tub, children play area etc) can be used by anyone staying in this house as well.

Cons:

None that I can think of.

Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

Inconceivable! The beauty that Estes Park holds is indescribably wonderful, and pictures can do it no true justice. After leisurely rolling out of bed in the Summit View home, I was able to shuffle around, make coffee, and sit on the back porch to take in all the beauty of the Rockies. The walk into town was a scenic two mile walk, the path is paved and offers a wonderful view of the peaks as you walk into town to get some coffee at the Ink and Brew, or tea at Moon Kats Tea Shoppe. Both places had fantastic owners and workers who were an absolute pleasure to talk to. The workers at Murphy's were absolutely wonderful and extremely accommodating. Casey, Eliza, Bruce and Loretta were there to answer any questions I had about Estes and were always able to point me in the right direction to find whatever I wanted or needed.

The Summit View home that I had booked was magnificent, and had everything I needed to function. After I unpacked, I snooped among the cabinets to see what cooking utensils they had, and lo and behold! The house had everything from an Ice Cream maker to a rice cooker. I was rather impressed. The house itself is open and very spacious with lots of windows for the natural sunlight to shine through, the kitchen was phenomenal, the main living area was vast and included a fireplace for when the evenings became chilly and plenty of chairs to sit in. The bedrooms were great places to relax after long days of hiking or climbing. The master bedroom was huge, and not only contained a walk-in closet, but also a master bath, and a second living area that included a couch if you wanted to huddle in close as a family or couple and watch some movies before bed.

My experience at Murphy's Resort was absolutely wonderful. I will definitely come back to stay with them and eagerly await all that the Murphy's gang has in store for the property.

We are located within 1 mile of Lake Estes with the Lake Estes Marina less than 1 mile away. They have boat rentals from fishing boats to pontoons to paddle boats, canoes & kayaks and they also have bike rentals. Less than a mile away is Backbone Adventure Rental which supplies rentals for scooters, dirt bikes, atv's, razor's, utv's and full size Jeep Wrangler's. Take a guided tour of the Rockies with Green Jeep Tours or on horseback with National Park Gateway Stables or Cowpoke Corner Corral. Take a look into our history at the Estes Park Museum, have some great Mexican food at Ed's Cantina & Grill, enjoy hand crafted beers at Estes Park Brewery or sample your favorite wine at Snowy Peaks Winery. There are numerous shops and business's in our Downtown area such as great restaurants, gift & souvenir shops, ice cream parlors, fudge and candy shops plus many other attractions.

The number one attraction in the area by far is the Rocky Mountain National Park, it is one of the most visited national parks in the country. With majestic peaks in every direction, wildlife roaming the valleys and some of the most incredible outdoor adventures on the planet, it is no wonder more than three million people flock to the park each year. Within the boundaries of Rocky Mountain National Park, more than 100 peaks rise above 11,000 feet in altitude, including Longs Peak at 14,259 feet. These amazing mountains cradle the Estes Valley, providing residents and guests with incredible beauty and inspiration. Many of the taller peaks make up the Continental Divide, where snow melt runs either west to the Pacific Ocean or east to the Atlantic. The park's vistas are accessible by horseback, on foot, or by car - the most notable vehicle route being Trail Ridge Road, the highest continuously paved highway in North America. No matter your level of interest, adventure awaits you while viewing, exploring and appreciating this breathtaking collection of mountains.

Real Wildlife: While it is possible to travel through Rocky Mountain National Park and not catch sight of any wildlife, we venture to say that is an unlikely experience. From everyday sightings of chipmunks and mule deer to the moving experience of viewing elk in rut (the mating season), the animals in the park let you know that you are part of something truly wild. Some of these critters are harder to spot than others - they might camouflage themselves in the trees or hide in the underbrush - but look closely and you may have an encounter unlike any other.

Incredible Adventures: The outdoor adventurer remains busy throughout the year in Rocky Mountain National Park. Open 365 days a year, there are activities and sports throughout the summer/fall and winter/spring seasons. Whether looking for a new route to an adrenaline rush, or simply enjoying a favorite pastime, Rocky Mountain National Park's unique and varied landscapes offer something fun.

Park Amenities: In addition to its natural wonders, Rocky Mountain National Park provides services and amenities to make your experience special and stress-free. Look through the visitor information and stop by a visitor center to gather all the tidbits you need to know, such as where you're going, what to do and how to prepare.
