The cabin was in good shape. The location is as good as it gets, surrounded on three sides by forest with great hiking trails. Govy village is a walk away. We really enjoyed our stay. Will definitely return.

Great Location
We were here for a kid's ski camp, and this house is great if you're back and forth to Timberline a lot and want to be close to restaurants and bars, as well as fun trails for hiking and/or MBR. House is a little dated, but is clean and very livable and well stocked. Fun throwback :-)

Great Location
Location to town and trails. Very clean and functional.
We loved this house! Peaceful, quiet street and we loved the proximity to Skibowl and Mt. Hood Brewing Co. The floor plan is spacious, the hot tub is wonderful, the wood stove is cozy, and this house really felt like home for the week! Excellent all around. Would recommend to anyone staying in Government Camp or the greater Mt. Hood area!

Wonderful getaway
The house has everything you would want in a getaway. Privacy, comfortable beds, plenty of extra pillows and blankets, a well stocked kitchen (couldn’t find any salt and pepper shakers though), lots of space to spread out, an amazing hot tub, and a beautiful setting. Can’t wait to stay again!
Phenomenal property & great location. Felt like we were in the Alps. Spacious, fun haus with all the amenities. We will definitely return.

Great location and extremely comfortable!
We had a wonderful stay! The only trouble I had was the code didn’t work on the lockbox. It wasn’t an issue since I could use the code on the downstairs door and get in. We would definitely stay again!!
Great haus and a great location! Spacious entertainment room downstairs with washer/dryer, bathroom and two bunk beads! Amazing main floor with family room, kitchen, bed room with queen bed & bathroom. Fun third floor with family room, foosball table & bedroom with queen bed. We will definitely stay here again!

Great little place in the mountains
We stayed here for a few days during the winter. There are six of us, and it felt both cozy and roomy at the same time. The home has a well stocked kitchen, with plenty of dinnerware and like-new appliances.
Our kids really enjoyed the foosball table and being able to watch their favorite Netflix shows on the huge TV.

Government Camp Getaway
The house was great, and the weather cooperated perfectly. We did need to unload the dishwasher when we arrived, but I am sure it was just an oversight from the cleaning crew. Overall everything was great!

The Swiss Haus at Govenment Camp
We had a great family getaway, with our children and grandchildren. With three floors there was room for everyone. The TV in the lower level was a great place for the little ones to watch movies and play video games. The main level had a wood burning stove and large windows providing a beautiful view of the snow. The rooms were tastefully decorated and very comfortable. I would highly recommend the Swiss Haus as a great place to stay.

This place is amazing! The house is warm and inviting making you feel right at home, demanding you relax once you step in the door. The house has everything you need right at your fingertips, you just need to bring groceries or take out. The bedrooms are cozy and the beds were very comfortable. There are soft throw blankets on every couch to curl up in with a warm cup of coffee and a good book. Whether your here with the whole family or just for a solo getaway Swiss Haus is where you want to stay! I’m already planning my next trip up here :)

Comfy Oasis in the Woods
Wow, such a short drive from the city, yet you can completely (and comfortably!) immerse yourself into the scenic Mt. Hood national forest at Swiss Haus. This home has been carefully decorated with all sorts of rustic accents that make this home feel special. Furnishings were like-new and spotlessly clean. Ample space was available for six adults to spend a weekend together without bumping elbows. It was great to have snowshoeing/hiking trails right out the front door... as well as Mt. Hood Brewing down the street for happy hour drinks. I'd gladly come back.

Would have been perfect if the owner would pay for snow removal!
This is the only ski cabin I've ever rented where it was obvious that no one had made any effort to clear a path to the house in a very long time. Not only was the driveway buried, but so were the lower windows you see in this photo. The external stairs were inaccessible, and it was a slippery course to the hot tub on the 2nd story deck. Makeshift "steps" were trudged into the snow along the steep driveway, which make for perilous car unpacking and child transporting. The caretaker who was departing the house as we were leaving basically told us to "get a run at" the driveway and chock some wood under the tires to prevent backsliding. Meanwhile, bare driveways were to be seen next door and across the street -- it can be done!
The interior was great. The ground level has a big TV and "rumpus room" vibe, and the bunk room and one bathroom was also on that level. The main living space was one level up, with a well appointed kitchen and a cozy wood stove + seating area. Another bathroom and queen bedroom was on this level. The third level contained a loft space with a queen bed (no door to that bedroom) and another reading/living space with a foosball table. Plenty of room for our 2 families and four young kids!
There were lots of board games and books for entertainment. There were plenty of dishes and a nice big fridge.
Another helpful hint: It would be nice if there were a label on one of the wall switches to identify the furnace control. It took us a day to figure out how to keep the cabin warm after the fire went out! Also, some instructions on figuring out the TV + fire stick would have saved us some frustrations.

We’re thrilled to hear you loved this home, but hate to hear the outside wasn’t kept up to the same standard. We’ve reached out to our local team and they will make sure we’re paying close attention to the issues you raised here to the best of our abilities going forward. There is a digital thermostat that controls the heat and this home has a smart TV but unfortunately, no Fire Stick. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us so we were able to make these improvements, and we hope you’ll stay with us again soon so we can deliver a dent-free vacation!
