The space was very clean with lots of group gathering spaces, everything was great about the house. We just had an issue with water access on the kitchen that took them one day to fix it.

*Extremely disappointing and misleading listing - Should be 3 Star!! Read before you book!*Unfortunately, this stay was nothing like what the listing led us to expect. - The property was extremely buggy, with large numbers of mosquitoes, spider webs throughout the inside and outside, and wasp nests on the property that resulted in several people getting stung. The outdoor areas clearly had not been properly cleaned or maintained in a long time.- The lake view and access was also very misleading. The water was full of algae, and the area was so shallow (less than 2 feet) that we couldn't even get a boat to the dock, which significantly limited the ability to enjoy the lake as advertised.- Inside, there were several maintenance issues as well. The sink faucet was difficult to use and did not work properly, and the refrigerator door would not close correctly, making it difficult to use the fridge as intended. The washer and dryer had multiple malfunctions and were practically useless. Overall, the property is in need of a major update and much better maintenance and cleaning. Between the bugs, wasp nests, unmaintained outdoor areas, broken appliances, and misleading lake photos/view, we were very disappointed with our stay. The listing gives a much nicer impression of the property than what we actually experienced.

It would have been helpful to denote the bedroom type on each level as well as the fact that aren’t able to swim in this part of the lake. Given you can’t swim, would be great to supply kayaks like other houses we have stayed at in lake Anna.

Loved the patio. Huge patio with multiple sitting spots, hot tub, bbq area and dining area. Kids had fun playing around. Nice pool table. Great house on the lake for family/friend to spend a relaxing weekend. Definitely recommend the place

Annual Family Lake Trip

The house was beautiful, comfortable and spacious with nice amenities to enjoy while at the house. (pool table, hot tub, grill and fire pit) The only thing we weren't expecting was that we couldn't get our pontoon rental all the way to the house dock. The neighborhood has a dock that isn't far so not a big inconvenience but unexpected.

Great spot!

Plenty of space, accurate listing. Be sure to read the portion around 3 of the bedrooms with breezeway entry if you have small kids. Great views and easy communication! When we stayed there was construction on both sides (the only downfall of trip)- otherwise, fantastic spot, great fishing and would return!

The house was perfect and stocked with everything we needed. The three bedrooms that are entered from the outside of the house worked for our group. The basement has to be accessed from outside the house as well. It says it has a playroom, but not ideal. The room with pool table and arcade game was a good addition though. The house was very clean too. The yard and dock was disappointing. The grass was very long and we had to call vacasa to see if someone was coming to cut it, because it was mid-shin in length. They came a couple days later. The dock was covered in splatter of some sort. There were no chair cushions for the furniture that is down there. The water in this part of the lake is very shallow and has a ton of vegetation which did not allow us to swim. We rented a boat and couldn’t use the dock because of the vegetation. If you’re staying get the code for the community boat launch through the HOA, prior to your visit, because it took half the day for vacasa to get it from the owners. Vacasa was very responsive, but if they have to wait on the owners it is going to take a while. Also the neighbor was really nice and helpful!

Lake House Rental without the Lake

The house is very nice, beds are comfortable, but the lake is a seasonal experience that may not be available or usable and the kitchen is not quite fully equipped for group meals. Given the home is heavily marketed as a venue for lake access and dock usage, future renters should be aware to look up the Department of Virginia notifications of harmful algae bloom that indicate the lake conditions and if they are safe for human or animal use. I did not know to check this information and rented the house with plans to have a boat and use the dock for water access. It turns out the State issued a harmful algae bloom notification for over 1/3 of Lake Anna two days before I rented the property and the water levels at the house were maybe 2 inches best case scenario and basically a giant mud pit and unusable. The lake levels at this portion of the lake are very shallow even in good weather conditions. Initially VACASA indicated a willingness for an amenities refund, but changed their tune, claimed an act of god/nature and beyond their control. I do not dispute this, but I do think they should disclose state health advisories and market the house for what it is - a house and nothing more. You shouldn't advertise a lake house with boat and dock access if those opportunities are not part of the rental package. The house itself was very nice. The dining room table is very small for the bedrooms available. The kitchen is lacking many basics like measuring spoons, serving platters, grater, and sufficient glasses and silverware. Also we had a challenge with the bedroom temperature in the bedrooms along the breezeway. We were told the second floor thermometer worked to control the temperature in the breezeway bedrooms, but it did not and those rooms remained very hot during our weekend stay. Attempts to get clarity on the temperature controls were not satisfactorily resolved. We received instructions on where the thermometer was located, but when adjusting it was unsuccessful we received no further feedback on how to resolve the issue when solicited.

The property was beautiful. The house was spacious and perfect for our multi generational family vacation. The bedroom on the first floor was very helpful for the great grandparent. Seating both at the dining room table and in the living room was a bit tight. Additional chairs and a desk in the living room would be a big help. The outside patio and deck seating was great and it was enjoyable to sit outside and watch the sunset over the lake as it got dark. The boat house was good for the kayaks and there was lots of wildlife out on the lake.
