About Marilyn Pratt

In 1969 Ralph and Jossie 'Sallah' Pratt bought this house. They raised their six of their nine children here and opened their doors to Gloucester daily to share stories and enjoy what is best about being apart of Gloucester.

In 2007 my wife and I bought the home to celebrate them and share this special home with others. This home is special. As grandchildren of Ralph and Jossie we enjoy fond memories of sunny summer and fall days and nights sitting around enjoying the warmth of this home and all those who entered.

Marilyn Pratt purchased this house in 2007

Why Marilyn Pratt chose Gloucester

As a fifth generation Gloucester resident I have had the blessings of travelling across the USA and have always felt a deep love for this community and growing up in this house as the grandson of Ralph and Jossie Pratt wanted to help people come and experience Gloucester in a home that helps create the best experiences of 'home' for those who visit.

Come to Gloucester and stay at our home so you can feel the warmth of Gloucester like a real member of the community.

Terrific!

  • 5 of 5

The Pratt House was just perfect for our group of 8 seventy plus year old women. The five bedrooms had 8 beds! And the three bathrooms ample.

We try to get together once a year (college buddies from the Class of '63), renew friendships, share experiences, and enjoy one another. The house certainly had the amenities and the area plenty to do. A lovely large dining room to sit in the evening, an ample kitchen with eating space where we sat around with our morning coffee, and a living room with a grand piano! What could be better!

Marilyn met us when we arrived. She explained all about the house, gave hints on the area, and gave us a great welcoming experience. The house would be great for a family get together or holiday, a group of friends gathering for an occassion, or just a relaxing get-away. Try it, you will love it - - - -.

It doesn't get any better than this! Perfect stay.

I don't know what I can say that hasn't already been said by others. Right from the beginning when I first contacted Marilyn Pratt, she was really accommodating and very easy to deal with. I stayed here with 5 other guys for a Bluefin Tuna fishing charter with Capt. Paul Hebert aboard The Wicked Pissah (from NatGeo's Wicked Tuna). We arrived to be greeted by Marilyn who showed us around this gorgeous 5 bedroom, 3 bath brick colonial located close to everything and less than 2 minutes from Cape Ann's Marina where the boat was docked. This house is clean and comfortable and it has everything you could want for a visit to Gloucester. Marilyn was fantastic and went over and above to make our stay easy and completely stress free. We'll definitely be back next year. Thanks for everything Marilyn!

Summer Vacation - Boston

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time using VRBO along with renting a home for our family and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Pratt House! Marilyn was great to work with and we couldn't have asked for a more convenient location for our planned activities. It felt like home away from home for us.
