False advertising - this house is far from new!!!

-Not new as advertised - several years old - paint job badly needed -No grill as advertised -Roaches in kitchen -Not enough plates or silverware for 15 (house supposed to sleep 18) -Many plates & cups were filthy, rusted cookie sheets, rusted pans -Ice maker doesn’t work -Shower head in 2nd floor hall bath has 0 water pressure -Pool maintenance records show no maintenance since April 15 - it’s May 24!!! -Worst my son (14 and very skinny) sat in the plastic Adirondack chair by the pool. It snapped in half and cut his back. The house is in a great location and has nice views but is in need of some attention!!!

House was clean and in good shape for our annual family fishing weekend.

Faculties were very good. Our family enjoyed the 4 days we spent here.

Roaches! And that was the least of the issues...

... since they only came out at night! there is a long list of issues you would not expect in this price range (really shouldn't expect in any price range). In no particular order: The outdoor shower had no proper drainage so the pool area would immediately flood, so that went mostly unused. The deck furniture was the lowest grade possible, so they were barely used. Although a grill was advertised, it was rusted through and completely unusable. The pots and pans were dirty and/or rusted, so they were barely used. Getting the theme here? The dishwasher had standing water after its cycle, so that was barely used. Forget about finding a sharp knife. Everything in the kitchen was sub-par. The place also just felt dirty...moldy shower curtains, unwashed floors, filthy walls, mold smelling washing machine. This house is listed as brand new, but did not feel that way at all. Not the enjoyable experience we've had with other rentals. I usually do not write bad reviews because i do not like to mess with people's money, but i don't want to see anyone elses vacation ruined like ours was.

The home is beautiful and perfect for a large family/friend gathering

My only complaint was that the home was not as clean as I would have liked. We found random things laying around the house, examples A "glow necklace" on one of the beds, a wine glass in a closet, and a bracelet on a dresser. In addition there was no "gift bag" that was advertised however when we called the management company that was rectified quickly. But the property itself was great!

Great location. Great beach and beach access. However, house in poor shape for a 2 year old rental

Had to buy glasses, coffee cups, lidded frying pan and keurig. Kitchen dirty. Dishes dirty. Stove top had burned on food. Roaches and ants. No tables on decks or by pool. Pool not cleaned. Dog poop in pool gravel. Pool fence broken. Pool gate would not close. Under equipped for 7 bedroom house. Upholstered furniture dirty and stained. Icemaker broken. Freezer drawers broken. Housekeeping not doing its job, owners would be horrified. AlsO burned out lights and no replacements available. Loved Oak Island and will be back but not to property

not the right fit

The house is beautiful and ton of space. However upon arrival it was questionable if it had even been cleaned. The house sleeps 12 and the kitchen was not well stocked at all. We had to go out and buy kitchen linens, pot holders and a few cooking supplies just to cook for a group. There were several issues with doors being broken (pool gate and front door) that we reported as well. Some of this issues I think were related to the rental agency - linens provided were hard and tiny. Would recommend bringing your own linens. Tried to make the best of it and seems these are fixable things that may change for future renters!

Great location, plenty of room, yet needs some love.

Had our family reunion here with 10 adults and 6 kids. Great location - 100 yards to the beach. Nice pool in the back and great kitchen area and great room on the top floor. Incredible views from up there. Yet, seems like they are missing the little things that many other VRBO's have where I have stayed. We had to bring toilet paper, paper towels, and napkins. Also, the 2 charcoal grills were terrible and unusable. They eventually brought a new one on the 2nd to last day. the bath towels were pretty small and rough. No beach towels (hard to pack these for a long trip) I assume because it is part of a large management group that it does not get the attention that a single owner would give it. Too bad because, as I said, great location and big house for family or friend get togethers.

Family celebration

Wonderful home for a large group of people! Never felt crowded or bored. Easy beach access and beautiful pool. Amenities were more than adequate. No complaints from anyone-would have liked to stay more than our three days. Highly recommend it!!

A beautiful house with great beach access.

The house is large and spacious on three levels, with multiple porches, ideal for large groups. The pool and elevator make it a good choice for groups with kids and people with mobility issues. Some problems with appliances were quickly dealt with by the rental company. The kitchen is adequate, but the cookware could be better quality. It would be nice if some minimal beach chairs and beach towels were provided, as most of us were coming from afar.
