Why we like it
Nothing says Oregon Coast like a rustic A-frame, and this one is perfect for your next adventure. It’s a (very) short walk down to the beach, or you can just gaze out at the Pacific from the bright living room window—one of many reasons this is a great retreat spot year-round!
Mo's West (seafood and chowder) is a 15-minute walk down the road, Devil’s Punch Bowl State Park is just a bit further. A short drive south will put you in Newport, where you can visit the Oregon Coast Aquarium and Ripley’s Believe It or Not!
Things to know
The sofabed is in the living room.
Kids will love the loft!

About Vacasa, OR - Oregon Coast Office
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Blast at the beach
This was the most affordable and best little chalet that my family and I have ever stayed at. I will be coming back soon.
Will definitely come back!
We did a family vacation at Alpine Chalet and we absolutely loved the location and the chalet itself. It worked perfectly for our family. On our last night, we came back to the lower floor completely flooded and water seeping from underneath the front door. The water line to the water heater had broken while we were gone. The staff at the Chalet and at VRBO could not have been more helpful in getting us relocated to another unit. They were wonderful to work with! We will be back. Sincerely, Jolien M. Stam
2nd stay at Alpine Chalets
Last year we stayed in one of the chalets for my birthday. We had a great time so we came back and stayed in one that had more bed capacity. We had a group of six and 2 dogs and we had a great time. Plenty of beds and great to have a half bath with that many people. The accommodations were fine and expected at a beach house. The kitchen has fiestaware dishes which was great but could use more pots/pans. Can opener needs replacing....there were 2 and neither worked. Overall we had a lovely time and enjoyed our stay.
Alpine Chalet was the perfect place for our family vacation. Everything we could want was provided and the caretaker Lance is very professional, hard-working and nice. Would stay here again!
Great little oasis just outside Newport
We have come to Alpine Chalets at Otter Rock for a couple of years now, it's always a nice and quiet beach to wander and explore. Close enough to Newport or Depoe Bay that it's easy to get into town but away from the crowds for peace and quiet.
When we arrived we loved the Aframe. The manager dropped by to tell us if we smelled sewage to let him know as the septic tanks had needed pumped for the past month but he had not been able to get owner/management to respond. Not an encouraging thought.
The next morning a knock on the door to let us know the beach was closed because of sewage overflow down the beach. He also mentioned we might have to leave for safety reasons. We changed our all day beach plans, kept our phones by our sides all day.
We returned that evening and the beach was still closed.
Next morning we saw the manager and asked about the beach...still closed. That afternoon when we returned and asked about the beach it was open but we were directed to keep shoes on our feet.
The next morning when we asked the beach was open. We were so disturbed at the thought of going down to the beach and did not return to that beach at all.
We rented this place because it was on the beach. So disappointed in our experience, especially knowing the problem had existed fir a month and had not been addressed by the owners.
We have called twice to try and get some kind of response to no avail. We spend a lot of time on the coast but will be sure NOT to use vacasa again!
