Wonderful cozy cottage!
What a beautiful property! Jolene and Gary have done such a wonderful job of preserving the cottage and the land on the property. There is a creek at the back where one can take a dip or sit for hours enjoying the trees and the bird song.
We loved starting here- the location was great, close to Kaaterskill Falls, downtown Saugerties (with it’s wonderful restaurants), and Woodstock. Jolene was so prompt in her responses, and allowed us an early check in and a late checkout! We were greeted with fresh fruit, snacks and home made muffins! Thank you Jolene!
We had the perfect getaway at Jolene’s guest house. The location is wonderful for exploring the Catskills, and she is a truly thoughtful and gracious host. We’re eager to return!
We had an unexpected trip and were lucky enough to find this lovely place to stay. The kitchen had pots to cook with and plenty of plates, etc, plus some delicious foods for us to eat, which was a wonderful surprise. The setting was nice too with a little stream nearby. This little cottage was so nicely done, comfortable, and had everything we needed, and Jolene could not have been a better hostess. We recommend and would return.
Joleen was an excellent host. She was friendly and available. The cottage was perfect. Just as in the pictures. Immaculately clean, homey and very comfortable. Her attention to detail didn’t go unnoticed. From decorative pine cones, to the beautiful picture art on the walls to the basket of goodies of fresh baked muffins, fruits, chips and a variety of assorted soft drinks.
The property is gorgeous. Our two French bulldogs enjoyed running off leash and exploring the grounds. Specially the beautiful creek on the property. We are already looking forward to coming back.
Thank you Joleen for creating a little piece of heaven away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Great Hudson Valley Hideaway
This was our second stay at the guest house, and it's really delightful. Cozy place, everything you need for a perfect quiet getaway. Kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with goodies, and there was a little Christmas tree in the living room. Although it was a gray weekend up in the HV, there is still a lot to do and the location is great. (One recommendation for future guests, take the time to go up to Deer Mountain Lodge for brunch. Only 35 minutes and spectacular.)
About Jolene Adams
We are artists in the field of film and theatre. After years of city living both in NYC and LA, we have finally realized our dream of buying a home in the country with a guest house for our large family and artist friends who want to retreat from their busy worlds to write, paint, rehearse new works or just enjoy the sights and rest.
Jolene Adams purchased this Cottage in 2013
Why Jolene Adams chose Saugerties
We have been looking for the right place for five years and dreaming of the right place for many more. We knew we wanted an old stone house on enough acreage to feel away from it all but close enough to people so we wouldn't be isolated. Close enough to NYC but far away enough to be in the country. We wanted lots of old trees. And, if it wasn't too much to hope for, some water on the property too. When we saw the incredible BlueMountain House built in 1793 with it's sweet guest house, both newly renovated, it was love at first sight!
What makes this Cottage unique
Both the main house and the guest house are beautifully and loving restored. The landscape design is very special, so natural and rustically sophisticated if that makes any sense! Our favorite thing is sitting outside with our morning coffee and watching the birds and the occasional chipmunk or deer forage nearby.
