Privately owned and remodeled, this is a classic beach house on an idyllic street in the Lake District of WaterColor. The home fronts a three-acre, manicured neighborhood park with the national forest just beyond the park. It has all modern conveniences, many beautiful interior finishes, and all new furnishings. The front of the house has a large porch with wood columns and plenty of seating for family gatherings. Enter the house and you’ll immediately notice the soaring two-story ceiling, giving the house an open, airy feeling. The floors are knotty pine throughout. The dining and living room are in the front of the house. The dining room has seating for 10 and the living room has a large, down-filled couch, a love seat and two oversized chairs. There is also a gas fireplace.

The kitchen is built for the gourmet cook in mind, with a 48” Jenn Air six-burner gas range and double door Sub Zero fridge, a new ice maker, new microwave and large kitchen island with seating. The kitchen is fully stocked, with spices and other dry goods, plenty of pots/pans and dishes, as well as all of the cleaning supplies you will need during your stay.

Across from the kitchen is the multi-functional room with a large pantry, laundry room with a new, full sized washer and dryer, a bar with a sink and a desk area.

Down the hall, there are two bedrooms, both with private bathrooms. One of the bedrooms has a queen bed and the other has two twin beds. Both bedrooms are recently redecorated with new mattresses, fine linen and flat screen televisions. The main floor also has a powder bathroom.

Upstairs is the master bedroom suite with a king-size bed, a new mattress and fine bedding. The master bedroom also has a large private office, the perfect place to get away to if you have some work to do. In the office is a single sleepr couch. There is a walk-in closet in the master bedroom and the master bathroom has 'his and her' vanities, a large oval soaking tub and oversized shower.

Behind the house is the two-story garage and carriage house. The garage/carriage house has a separate entrance and interior stairs that lead to the living space. The living space atop the garage includes a bedroom with a queen bed, writing desk and a small kitchen area with a fridge, sink and coffee maker. Adjacent to the bedroom, there is a finished, space with a door that has two, built-in twin beds, the perfect place for young children to sleep. The carriage also has a bathroom with a shower tub.

In total, our house sleeps 11 comfortably with the following bed configuration: king size bed in the master bedroom and single sleeper couch; queen size bed in guest room number one on the main floor; two twin beds in guest room number two on the main floor; queen size bed in the carriage house; and two twin beds in the carriage house.

The house is very close to the beach, just a short 10 minute walk or a five minute bike ride. Visitors access the beach through the WaterColor Beach Club. The closest pool is the Frog Pool which is just steps behind our house.

Another great amenity is the three acre park across the street. This manicured park is the perfect place for kids to play. Our house is in a quiet part of the Lake District so very few people use the park. Bring out the badminton or football or baseball for some pre-dinner fun.

We have been to WaterColor many times and decided the time was right to buy a beach house. We love the area and the beaches are amazing. We picked this area because the WaterColor community is so well thought out, with everything within distance of a bike ride. We love walking the trails, riding our bikes, going to the beaches and hanging out at Bud & Alley's to watch the sunset. The people here are great, displaying real Southern hospitality! We know you'll love your time on the Emerald Coast

What makes this house unique

We love this house because it's the classic beach cottage, with a great floor plan. It works very well for a large family, or a couple of families, or a girls trip or guys trip. The location is close to everything that WaterColor has to offer, yet its away from the crowds on Western Lake Drive. It is perfectly located and a short walk or ride to the beach, yet it doesn't have a lot of traffic. And it is right next to the national forest.

Gorgeous and comfortable!

We spent a week here at Thanksgiving with extended family (family of 4 + family of 2) and it was the perfect spot for us! The house is beautiful with very nice details, gorgeous wood floors, well chosen decor. The layout worked wonderfully for us with a master suite upstairs by itself, two bedrooms each with their own bath at the back of the house separate from living areas, and a guest house with a hidden room for two kiddos - my kids called it the Harry Potter room, but of course it was Harry Potter luxury! This house is well stocked! We were doubtful that we'd actually be able to easily cook a traditional Thanksgiving dinner in a rental home. We stayed at a different house in Watercolor the previous year for Thanksgiving and had to dine out due to a poorly equipped kitchen. Not this time! This house has everything you could ever need and is so perfectly organized that there's no searching. You will leave wanting the organizational fairy to come to your home! You'll also find everything you need for regular casual meals (equipment, spices, grill), for days at the beach (chairs, umbrella, toys, towels), days at home (games, wifi, tv in every room), working at home (multiple desk/office spaces), and an ideal location (short walk or bike ride to beach and town village, open park/playspace directly across the street, froggy pool just behind house, short drive/bike ride to Publix). I'm almost hesitant to post this review because we don't want it to be booked the next time we want to return! We've been vacationing to Seaside and Watercolor for 9 years and this was our favorite house so far!

Beautiful Watercolor Home!

We been to Watercolor many times, and this was our first stay in this home. We loved the location, so close to Western Lake Bridge with access to the Watercolor Beach and Resort. The home is so cozy and we loved the layout of all of the bedrooms. The beds and bed linens were all so comfortable. The only drawback was the spotty wifi and cell service. Other than that, we had a lovely stay!

Owner's Response: Nicole thank you for the positive review of our home. Watercolor is just completing a community-wide upgrade of cable and internet infrastructure by Mediacomm. That will greatly improve internet service for all homes. Also, all of the homes in Watercolor have tin roofs (a mandatory design requirement) and that can make cell service a bit tricky, though our service provider works fine. Some carriers are better than others in getting signals through the tin roofs. Thanks for staying at our home in Watercolor! Please come again!

The home of the Laws is really a perfect place to stay with family and friends. Vey clean and welcoming home in a nice neighborhood, a short and pleasant 5 minutes ride to Watercolor Inn, the tennis or the beach. Sandy was very easy and responsive. We will come back !

The house was perfect. Very clean and in order. It is very easy to communicate with the owners who are very accommodating. Close proximity to community pool. Easy bike ride to other community pools, beach and Seaside square. We loved staying in this house!
