Privately owned and remodeled, this is a classic beach house on an idyllic street in the Lake District of WaterColor. The home fronts a three-acre, manicured neighborhood park with the national forest just beyond the park. It has all modern conveniences, many beautiful interior finishes, and all new furnishings. The front of the house has a large porch with wood columns and plenty of seating for family gatherings. Enter the house and you’ll immediately notice the soaring two-story ceiling, giving the house an open, airy feeling. The floors are knotty pine throughout. The dining and living room are in the front of the house. The dining room has seating for 10 and the living room has a large, down-filled couch, a love seat and two oversized chairs. There is also a gas fireplace.
The kitchen is built for the gourmet cook in mind, with a 48” Jenn Air six-burner gas range and double door Sub Zero fridge, a new ice maker, new microwave and large kitchen island with seating. The kitchen is fully stocked, with spices and other dry goods, plenty of pots/pans and dishes, as well as all of the cleaning supplies you will need during your stay.
Across from the kitchen is the multi-functional room with a large pantry, laundry room with a new, full sized washer and dryer, a bar with a sink and a desk area.
Down the hall, there are two bedrooms, both with private bathrooms. One of the bedrooms has a queen bed and the other has two twin beds. Both bedrooms are recently redecorated with new mattresses, fine linen and flat screen televisions. The main floor also has a powder bathroom.
Upstairs is the master bedroom suite with a king-size bed, a new mattress and fine bedding. The master bedroom also has a large private office, the perfect place to get away to if you have some work to do. In the office is a single sleepr couch. There is a walk-in closet in the master bedroom and the master bathroom has 'his and her' vanities, a large oval soaking tub and oversized shower.
Behind the house is the two-story garage and carriage house. The garage/carriage house has a separate entrance and interior stairs that lead to the living space. The living space atop the garage includes a bedroom with a queen bed, writing desk and a small kitchen area with a fridge, sink and coffee maker. Adjacent to the bedroom, there is a finished, space with a door that has two, built-in twin beds, the perfect place for young children to sleep. The carriage also has a bathroom with a shower tub.
In total, our house sleeps 11 comfortably with the following bed configuration: king size bed in the master bedroom and single sleeper couch; queen size bed in guest room number one on the main floor; two twin beds in guest room number two on the main floor; queen size bed in the carriage house; and two twin beds in the carriage house.
The house is very close to the beach, just a short 10 minute walk or a five minute bike ride. Visitors access the beach through the WaterColor Beach Club. The closest pool is the Frog Pool which is just steps behind our house.
Another great amenity is the three acre park across the street. This manicured park is the perfect place for kids to play. Our house is in a quiet part of the Lake District so very few people use the park. Bring out the badminton or football or baseball for some pre-dinner fun.
