About Mick Reina

I was born in Anchorage, Alaska. Raised on the Oregon Coast and went to Alaska every summer to visit my Dad and to work construction. I raised my family of four daughters here on the lake. I raised our four daughters mostly here in Sandpoint. We would go to Alaska each summer to run our commercial fishing operation in Bristol Bay. We did that for 23 years and would return to Sandpoint each year to live at this location during the winter months. I am a commercial and residential building inspector here in Sandpoint. I own a airplane that I enjoyed flying to Alaska each year while we owned our fishing operation and I enjoy very much flying to remote areas here in North Idaho. My hobbies include Flying my airplane, four wheeler and motorcycle riding, fishing and hiking here in Sandpoint and in Alaska. I also enjoy snow skiing and golfing here locally. I bought our first home on this property 25 years ago and we have enjoyed living on the water for most of the raising of my four daughters. I built this home in 2007 and have enjoyed living here very much. My girls are now adults and off on their own doing very well. I decided to rent out my home as a vacation rental so that other people could enjoy our home as we have for so many years. We have had so many wonderful memories in this home that I will want to keep it for awhile longer before retiring. Before moving here in 1985 we spent two years looking for the perfect place to raise our family. I will never forget the feeling we had the first time we crossed the long bridge and saw Sandpoint for the first time. We knew this was where we wanted to be. Sandpoint had most of what Alaska has to offer but much better weather and all four seasons to enjoy. The people here are very friendly and the quality of life is amazing. I look forward to talking with you about renting my home and will look forward to helping your vacation be the best ever. Feel free to contact me for any reason, to schedule or during your stay

Why Mick Reina chose Lake Pend Oreille

This home is a very nice upscale home. I have beds for 16 people and decided to price the home under the market pricing, as to offer it to a wider range of family's and friends budgets. I am also hoping to keep the home rented throughout each season. This is my second season using VRBO and have very much enjoyed meeting all of my travelers. You will enjoy the quiet neighbor hood and the location of this home. You will be able to access most of what this area has to offer without a long boat ride or drive to your destination. We are four miles from Sandpoint, 45 minutes from Couer d' Alene. 40 miles from Canada, Montana and Washington borders. Hard surfaced roads will take you from the home to any of these locations. The home is only one mile from Hwy 95 and is in a quiet and private setting on the water with its own private dock. There is a paved walking/biking path that leads to Sandpoint or you can ride south toward Coeur d' Alene. There is a great hiking trail called Gold Hill, five miles on bottle bay road, heading east from the home, that will give you a amazing view of Sandpoint and the lake at the top of the mountain. Gold hill is also fun for mountain bike riders. North Idaho offers endless outdoor activities year round and you will have no problem finding fun things to do indoors or outdoors during your stay. There are many great restaurants that are a short boat ride away, from my home, that can be enjoyed for every meal of the day. Sandpoint is a 15 minute boat ride from my dock to the city harbor or Sandcreek.

What makes this house unique

This home has a hot tub, fire pit, private dock and the waters edge is only 100 foot away from the covered deck where you can sit and dine outdoors and use the gas Weber BBQ for cooking. Fishing and swimming off the dock. The home has a attached 55' RV covered port that has full hookups and will fit Most large recreational vehicles. You can see your boat and watercraft's while standing on the covered deck of the home. There is a very nice Connelly pool table inside the home that will be able to be converted into a large 10-12 capacity dining room table with seating. The granite kitchen counter top also offers dining and seating for six additional people. The home offers a beautiful granite fireplace for use in the winter months. Air conditioning and forced air gas or electric heat provided throughout the home. Electric floor heat in the master bathroom. The home has two laundry room areas, one upstairs for the two bedrooms and one full bath area upstairs of this home. One full bathroom and laundry off the master bedroom and a large walk in closet area. The main house ceilings are 9' and the flooring is beautiful Brazilian Cherry wood and Slate flooring, at the main level of the home. Carpet in all the bedrooms. All counter tops are granite. All bedrooms offer flat screen TV's with cable TV and a DVD for viewing movies. Wireless internet provided throughout the home. Use of the large two car garage and RV port will also be available to the renters. Cement parking area in front of the home with a basketball hoop. Owner will supply a Canoe and kayak that will be secured to the dock for the tenants to use during their stay. Tenants will need to supply their own flotation vests. I have two three place Sea-doo jet skis that can be rented to my tenants for they're stay if desired. Please give early notice to me if this is your desire. I am also planing on being able to rent a pontoon party boat to my tenants for the 2016 season if desired. Rental rates will be discounted.

Stunning property and Mick is wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful time at Mick's beautiful home. Rented the jet skis and pontoon which made the stay even better. House is huge and provides ample space for 12+ easily. If I ever come back to Sandpoint I'm staying there (if it's available :))!

Nice place as advertised

A great home in a great spot. Bedroom-wise it is probably 3 adult couples plus 3-4 kids in bunk room. Nice protected dock. Mick the owner is very nice and easy to deal with.

great family week

  • 5 of 5

nice big house---our family had 4 couples & 5 kids, but were comfortable in the 4 bedroom place. We could have used another bathroom.

We did rent Mick's pontoon boat and 2 jet skis. That really added variety to our week. Great deck & large family room gave places to gather.

The property was clean & well maintained. The owner, Mick, was quite responsive and immediately helpful when we needed help with the hot tub and jet skis. We would definitely recommend this place and the Sandpoint area to others.

We liked the Mick Duff brew pub, 2nd Avenue Pizza, and Sweet Lou's Pub.

Perfect vacation home for a large family

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time! We brought our boat and loved having a dock right out back and being able to enjoy the lake. We drove to Silverwood one day and had a great time. Also, rode our bikes to Sand Point across the bridge. Great family time. In the evenings we enjoyed the hot tub and quiet atmosphere. The kids loved the pool table and being on the water. The house was so fully stocked, it was just perfect!

A new favorite vacation spot!

  • 5 of 5

We have family coming from Montana, Oregon & California and after staying at other lakes in the past for family reunions, Sandpoint is the new favorite. Has something to offer for everyone! And the house is perfect, the location and ease of getting to all the fun couldn't be better. The shared, open floor plan is great for family gatherings (we had 13 people including 6 kiddos age ranging 1-15). The house was very clean and Mick was very kind of share not just the fresh eggs but all the fun water toys. The hot tub was a hit too! Kiddos played in it everyday. The bedroom off the garage worked fine but in a perfect world, it would have been nice to have its own bathroom or be part of the main house. But this didn't diminish our enjoyment and the house exceeded our expectations. Thank u Mick! Oh, and the two laundry areas was a big bonus! We will be back and are already looking forward to next year.
