About Teresa Latimer

We purchased this historic cabin and began a 6 year renovation working on weekends and vacations to bring our cabin to it's present condition. Robert had a vision for this cabin and did all the work you see. We are very proud of the end result...a rustic, well-appointed, cozy and romantic getaway.

Robert is still employed by Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad, while Teresa 'retired' in 2013, acquiring her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training that same year. In 2014 the 'Getaway' cabin became Dancing Bear Cabin with Teresa managing the day to day cabin operations.

Teresa Latimer purchased this cabin in 2007

Why Teresa Latimer chose Front Range

Estes Park is a beautiful village at the foot of Rocky Mountain National Park. Hiking brought us to Estes Park in the beginning, but we soon fell in love with Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park so much that we married here. It was not long before we knew that this was the place we wanted to retire. And so began the search for a 'Getaway' cabin. Our search had a couple of must haves...walking distance to downtown and a quick drive to Rocky Mountain National Park. We found all of this in this wonderful cabin. We are very proud to be a part of Estes Park and to offer our guests the same wonderful experience we enjoy living the mountain life.

What makes this cabin unique

Our beautiful cabin is tucked away in a quiet, older neighborhood walking distance to downtown. You will love the access to downtown but relish the quiet escape at the end of a day of hiking or shopping. This cabin is a perfect place to restore your senses in a peaceful setting. There really is nothing like coming 'home' at the end of the day in the mountains to Dancing Bear Cabin. The moment you walk in the charm of a true mountain cabin draws you in. A beautiful, classic stone fireplace built in old world style by a Russian immigrant in the 1930's, granite counter tops and the queen size aspen log bed make the cabin a perfect place to spend your time in Estes Park. Attention to detail make this cabin a place you will always remember as a perfect vacation cabin.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Perfect Estes Park retreat

This tiny cabin was completely charming for a couple getaway. We ate breakfasts in, using the well-stocked kitchen, packed lunches and walked down the hill for dinner in town. Amenities were great: gas fireplace, HDTV, very clean bathroom, beautiful, creative touches everywhere. The treehouse feel from the bed was delightful. We accessed hiking at Lumpy Ridge and both entrances to RMNP. We especially appreciated the 8 deer who greeted us on arrival and appeared to be checking that all was well. We've already recommended Dancing Bear to many friends.

Dancing Bear Cabin

This place was amazing! My wife and I came for our honeymoon and found it to be the perfect location from not only downtown but also five minutes from Rocky Mountain National as well. A nice private feel with gorgeous views and a true home away from home.

Cute cabin, close to town

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I loved the cabin for our mini-Spring Break! The full kitchen allowed us to have lazy mornings with coffee while we made our own breakfast (the grocery store is 5 minutes away). We were able to easily pack lunch for our hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park, then return after a day of hiking to relax in front of the fireplace. Lovely! The one wall of windows by the bed has no curtains or blinds, so if you don't want to wake up with the sun, you might want to bring a sleep mask. :) We look forward to returning next year!

This is a beautiful little cabin in an amazing part of the world

The property is well maintained and stocked with essentials. Not that you'll be spending much time there due to its amazing location just minutes from RMNP.

Perfect; Can't wait until we can return!

  • 5 of 5

When I think of the perfect little cabin, Dancing Bear Cabin is what comes to mind. This cabin is in the perfect location to quickly access downtown & the national park. It also has all the amenities you could possibly need; you can grab some items at the grocery store a few minutes away and make meals yourself, meaning you don't even need to go out for every meal if you don't want to (which my husband and I liked). We had deer right outside almost every morning, and when combined with the sunrises, sunsets, and breathtaking mountain views seen through the historic windows, we could not help but feel as if we were in a winter wonderland. This cabin was the perfect little cozy space for my husband and I on our honeymoon...it was one of the main reasons we had such a great experience in Estes Park and look back at our honeymoon so fondly. We will definitely come stay at Dancing Bear Cabin again, and recommend it to anyone staying in Estes Park.

Perfect little retreat in every way!

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect romantic mountain get-away. The cabin is perfectly renovated with all the comforts of home. It is beautifully decorated and meticulous. Very comfy bed , by a bank of windows that makes you feel like you are in a treehouse! Beautiful gas fireplace.....walking distance to restaurants, shops, close to RMNP, just perfect in every way. We could not of been happier with our accommodations. Loved it here and hope that I find my way back there someday.
