About Dave and Debbie Kowenstrot

Dave and Debbie stay in the cabin just north and are normally there during your stay to address any issues or questions you may have.

Dave and Debbie Kowenstrot purchased this cabin in 1989

Why Dave and Debbie Kowenstrot chose Woodruff

We love Little Spider Lake for the beauty and convenience of the area. We enjoy seeing the deer, fox, loon, eagles, ducks and fish on a regular basis. A short ride to Woodruff or Minocqua offers unique shopping and dining opportunities.

What makes this cabin unique

Most of the time, we enjoy staying by the lake to take advantage of the relaxing atmosphere but also enjoy being able to walk, bike, swim, boat and hike. We are also on the snowmobile trail so winter is a fun time too.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Just wanted to say thanks for your hospitality last week. We really enjoyed our stay at the Spider Lake Cabin. My family was very comfortable. The kids enjoyed fishing and swimming from your dock. The whole family had a fun time riding our bikes along Schuman Road. I was able to run along the snowmobile trails.

Minocqua was a great place to visit. We had dinner at the Thirsty Whale, bought Fudge at Dan's Fudge Shop and rode the Bearskin Trail. We'd love to come back next year

The cabin is located just north of Minocqua/Woodruff off Hwy 51. This vacation area is filled with locally owned shops, golf, zoo and many lakes. The cabin is right on the snowmobile trail and bike trails run nearby. Many restaurants, bars and activities. The best part of the area is the peaceful, beauty of the lake and woods that surround our cabin. We enjoy walking and biking the scenic road or through the woods on the cabin property. Sitting on the pier, watching the sunset, ducks, loons and the eagles that hunt this lake is always a treat. Fishing and boating is popular.

Another wonderful week

  • 5 of 5

Had a great time at the property. Home is very nice and cozy, and the property is well groomed and maintained. Dave and Debbie are always around if there are any questions or problems. Dave even bailed out the boat after it rained over night. One evening I caught 38 fish from the dock.....had to count them. Loved it so much we booked another week in the spring. Thanks Dave and Debbie!

Three nights in October.

  • 5 of 5

Cabin was very private and nicely maintained. Beautiful woodworking on the inside. Debbie was really nice and available if we needed her. I would highly recommend this cabin just minutes from town. The only downfall was the furniture in the living room. Very uncomfortable! They need to upgrade to a nicer couch and some other type of furniture. Besides that it's a great place. We will be back next year.

Wonderful Second Visit!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the D2 Cabin for the second time this year, and we had just as much fun as the first time! The cabin was super clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. We hiked every day and the trails were peaceful and beautiful. My husband enjoyed some fishing off the dock and some shooting at the range nearby, and our Labrador had a blast retrieving in the various lakes we came across on our hikes. Dave & Debbie are terrific hosts and we will be back again.

We'll be back!

  • 5 of 5

Beautifully updated home, beautiful wooded backyard, beautiful lake and great hosts. Are we being obvious enough? Dave and Debbie made us feel at home right away and later in the week offered (we accepted) to take us on a pontoon boat ride with them...even with our Boxer, Diesel. The property is conveniently close to Hwy 51 and so many "up north" towns to go explore. Make sure you take Dave and Debbie's advice as to which supper clubs to visit.

Little Spider Lake was very pretty and not noisy with minimal boat traffic. There is Directv on a nice flat screen tv too if so inclined. We wanted for nothing and it was reassuring that Dave and Debbie were conveniently nearby in case there was a problem. Do yourself a favor and unwind at this very nice escape.

Had a wonderful stay. Cabin was the perverbial "CLEAN AS A WHISTLE".

Nice covered deck to be able to sit out some rainy times. Nice firepit for some relaxing campfires. Grandson had a ball in the huge sandbox.

Had a great stay. Thank you!
