Great property & home!

  • 5 of 5

2 friends & I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Lori's home for 3 nights. It was well stocked with things we might need and we really appreciated the wine & snacks at the end of our long trip into the area. The rooms (& house!) were clean, comfortable & peaceful, as were the surroundings. We got to use the patios in beautiful weather at the end of our very action packed days of shopping, going to the LBJ ranch and visiting a few of the many Vineyards. Thanks for your hospitality & kindness during our stay. Everyone agreed this was a blissful, wonderful weekend and your home was a big part of our experience!

It was everything we ever wanted for our weekend get away! Nice and quiet, peaceful. We pet horses, saw deer, lots of birds. Heard no traffic and saw lots of stars. The home was clean and well stocked. We appreciated the cheese and sausage plate and the local wine. Thanks a lot Lori!

Great stay for families not far from Fredericksburg or wine

  • 5 of 5

We rented this getaway for labor day for our family of six. When we got there lori still came out and welcomed us to the property even though we came closer to 10 pm. She also left a couple of bottles of local wine and a cheese tray in the refrigerator which was great after the drive from houston! Lori was so accommodating and the best hostess out of any of our many home away stays. The property itself is beautiful quiet and peaceful! The children loved seeing the hummingbirds, deer and the beautiful stars at night. The house itself is extremely comfortable and lori has a lot of extra towels and blankets as well as most cooking supplies that you will need for your stay. She also has a few blow up mattresses to accommodate up to 8. It is only about 30 minutes away from Fredericksburg and the drive is scenic and beautiful. We were grateful to be a little away from the city as it was very crowded over the weekend and we were just able to pop in and visit and come back to relax at the beautiful property. Lori also has a few horses on the property and the children loved seeing them! We will always be staying here from now on when we come to Fredericksburg or just simply to get away and relax. Thank you lori!

Now THIS is the Hill Country!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay so much -- the home was roomy, very clean, and very well-appointed. Our hosts left red wine, fruit, crackers and had the refrigerator stocked with a lovely meat and cheese platter, crackers, and a bottle of Chardonnay -- obviously anticipating ravenous appetites after a long hot drive. Lori greeted us early on and let us know that we were welcome and she was available for any questions or problems we had during our stay, so that turned out to be the only time we saw her. We loved sitting on the front deck in the evenings, star-gazing and settling the world's problems and in the mornings, the back deck was a veritable airport of birds flocking to the feeders -- great place to enjoy coffee and prepare to start the day. This was a tranquil interlude in our busy lives and our only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer.

We are located about 27 miles from Fredricksburg which is a quaint little town with German roots. Main street is lined with shops, restaurants and even a microbrewery and winery. There are also a multitude of wineries on Hwy 290 from Harper to Johnson City. A wonderful way to spend the day. The Fredricksburg Municipal golf course is quite nice.

Kerrville is about 25 miles away and has a winery and several nice restaurants. The Guadalupe River runs through the center of Kerrville and there are a few places to rent kayaks and fish. Comfort is about 40 miles away and is a wonderful spot for antiquing. Junction is about 30 miles west of us and has a beautiful river and park. San Antonio is about an hour and fifteen minutes and is famous for the River Walk, the Majestic Theater, San Antonio Zoo and several public golf courses.
